January favorites

Here we are with the first appointment of 2015 with my monthly beauty favorites. I can't believe January is already ending, I've been waiting so long for Christmas holidays and now they seems so far away. Let's just hope Spring will come soon!

The first product I've been loving this month is an hair care product and, in particular, a conditioner for blonde hair. I've already mention, in a couple of my previous posts, that I have started using the John Frieda Sheer Blond Go Blonder line and I'm very happy with it. However, when I run out of the conditioner form that line and I went to buy it again, it was out of stock, so I decided to replace ti with the John Frieda Sheer Blonde Highlight Activating Moisturizing Conditioner (€ 11,95). I have to say that I like this one better than the Go Blonder and I will probably buy the Shampoo from the same line once I finish the one I'm using now. It deeply hydrates my hair and a little bit goes a long way. My hair feels incredibly soft and luminous and my color looks much more alive.

Although I've been loving a lot my Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado, when I run out of it I went to the Kiehl's shop and asked for something a bit more powerful in terms of anti aging properties and the lady suggested me to try the Kiehl's Powerful Wrinkle Reducing Eye Cream (€ 37,50). The consistency of this eye cream, even if still quite rich, is less thick that the one with avocado. The result, however, is equally hydrating and smoothing. Moreover, this eye cream has a slightly lifting effect that makes a big improvement in the way my make up looks. I've been using it only for a couple of weeks, so I don't know if it's really able to reduce fine lines, however I've been liking it a lot so far.

Because of the cold weather, lately I've had the feeling that my skin wasn't receiving moisture enough, so I decided to buy an hydrating toner to use in the evening, after my cleanser. My choice came down to the Vitamin E Hydrating Toner form The Body Shop (€ 9,00), mainly because I've heard a lot of great things about the Vitamin E range from TBS and I wanted to try something from this line. I will go straight to the point and say it was love at first application. It feels so refreshing and hydrating and it makes my skin soft and supple, without being heavy or oily. Moreover, it contains antioxidants, which are very important in order to protect our skin from external agents. 

My last favorite is not new, on the contrary, it has been a favorite of mine for a long time and then, I don't know why, I forgot about it. It's the Benefit Dandelion blush (€ 33,50), a beautiful pale pink blush with a satin finish. Being a fair complexion girl, I find that the majority of pink blushers tend to make me look like either Heidi or a Barbie doll, and none of these effects is flattering. This Benefit blush, however, is the perfect shade of ballerina pink that suites beautifully lighter skin tones like mine. Moreover its satin, slightly highlighting finish brightens up my face for an immediate perk me up effect. I'm so happy I've decided to start using it again, it's definitely one of my favorite blushers ever.

Eccoci con il primo appuntamento dell'anno con il post dedicato ai miei preferiti del mese. Non mi sembra vero che Gennaio stia terminando, ho atteso così a lungo che arrivassero le vacanze natalizie ed ora che sono passate mi sembrano già lontanissime! Speriamo solo che la primavera non tardi ad arrivare! 

Il primo prodotto di cui voglio parlavi è un prodotto per la cura dei capelli, nello specifico, un balsamo per capelli biondi. Vi ho già detto, in un paio dei miei post precedenti, di aver iniziato ad usare la linea di prodotti Sheer Blonde Go Blonder di John Frieda e di esserne molto soddisfatta. Tuttavia, poiché l'ultima volta che mi sono recata ad acquistare il balsamo, i prodotti della linea Go Blonder erano terminati, ho deciso di ripiegare sul John Frieda Sheer Blonde Highlight Activating Moisturizing Conditioner (€ 11,95). Con mia grande sorpresa, devo ammettere che preferisco questo balsamo al precedente. Idrata in profondità i capelli e ne basta davvero una piccola quantità, anche su una chioma "impegnativa" come la mia. I capelli rimangono morbidissimi e luminosi e il biondo appare più sano e vibrante. 

Sebbene ami moltissimo la crema per il contorno occhi all'avocado di Kiehl's, dopo averla terminata mi sono recata nel loro negozio e ho chiesto qualcosa che avesse proprietà anti età un po' più forti. La signorina mi ha consigliato di provare la loro Powerful Wrinkle Reducing Eye Cream (€ 37,50) ed ho deciso di fidarmi. La consistenza di questa crema, seppur abbastanza ricca, è un po' meno densa della crema all'avocado, ma l'effetto è ugualmente idratante. Inoltre, trovo che questa crema abbia un maggior potere levigante, il che comporta un miglioramento visibile anche nell'applicazione del correttore. Avendo iniziato ad usarla da appena un paio di settimane, non posso ancora esprimermi in merito alla sua capacità di ridurre rughe e linee d'espressione, tuttavia per il momento mi ritengo molto soddisfatta. 

Con l'abbassarsi delle temperature, ho iniziato ad avere la sensazione che la mia pelle non stesse ricevendo idratazione a sufficienza, motivo per cui ho deciso di acquistare un tonico idratante da utilizzare la sera dopo la detersione. La mia scelta è ricaduta sul Tonico Idratante alla Vitamina E di The Body Shop (€ 9,00), soprattutto per via dei numerosi pareri positivi che ho avuto modo di leggere in merito a questa linea di TBS. Andrò dritta al punto e vi dirò che è stato amore a prima applicazione. Ha un effetto molto rinfrescante e idratante e lascia la pelle morbida e liscia, pur essendo molto leggero e delicato. Un'altra nota positiva è data dal fatto che contiene antiossidanti, importantissimi per proteggere la pelle da aggressioni esterne. 

Il mio ultimo prodotto preferito del mese non è una novità, anzi, è stato uno dei miei prodotti preferiti per moltissimo tempo e poi, per non so quale motivo, l'ho abbandonato. Si tratta del blush Dandelion di Benefit (€ 33,50), un bellissimo rosa chiaro dal finish satinato. Avendo avuto da madre natura il dono di una carnagione cadaverica molto chiara, ho sempre qualche problemino nel relazionarmi con i blush rosati: nella maggior parte dei casi, infatti, finisco per sembrare Heidi o Barbie, a seconda del tono di rosa, e, in entrambi i casi, vi garantisco che l'effetto non è particolarmente lusinghiero. Questo blush, invece, ha una tonalità di rosa ballerina molto delicato, perfetto per le pelli più chiare. Inoltre, il suo finish satinato e leggermente luminoso, ravviva istantaneamente il colorito, rendendo la pelle radiosa anche quando ha un aspetto spento e affaticato. Sono davvero felice di aver ricominciato ad usarlo, è senza dubbio uno dei miei blush preferiti di sempre.

I have to confess that my beauty products wish list is much, much longer that the one I'm going to share with you in this post. Every time I see or I read about some products that catch my attention, I note their names on my list, but sometimes it takes months before I remember about them. That is why my list is becoming longer and longer! In this post I want to show you a little selection of the beauty products that, at the moment, are on the top of my list.

1 - First of all, of course, a foundation. Being a foundation junkie, every time a new foundation is released, I just can't help myself, I need to try it! This one is by Dior and it's the new Diorskin Star foundation (€ 43,00). From what I've read about this product, it seems to be a lightweight foundation with a medium coverage that is supposed to brighten the skin without making it shiny. No shine, light weight formula, brightening finish? I'm sold!

2 - Another foundation that has been on my with list for a while is not exactly a traditional foundation. It's the Benefit Bigger that BB Big Easy Multi-Blancing Skin Perfector spf 35 (€ 38,90). Such a long name, right? I'm not a fan of BB creams, I find them to be greasy and not so lightweight and I don't believe in the "10 properties in 1" miracle. This Benefit BB cream, however, seems to be formulated for combination to oily skins, like mine, and it sets into a powdery finish that guarantees the lasting power of the product. This is something that I must try for sure!

3 - My all time favorite powder is the Bare Mineral Mineral Veil, however loose powers are not the best to keep in your bag. That is why I'm looking for a good pressed powder and the Clarins Ever Matte Powder ( € 31,50) sounds exactly what I need. I also love the golden packaging!

4 - At the moment I'm very happy with my haircare routine, however there is a product that, I think, might improved it: the Bumble & Bumble Invisible Oil Primer (€ 27,50). All the products form the Invisible Oil line seem amazing, but the primer is the one that has been receiving the best reviews. It conditions the hair and protects it against UV radiations. Sounds nice!

5 - As you might know, I'm a huge fan of serums, I think they can do a lot for our skin, and, in particular, I like brightening and exfoliating serum. This is why the Clinique turnaround concentrate radiance renewer serum (€ 59,50) is so appealing to me. Here's what is said on Clinique website: "Fast acting exfoliating serum instantly creates a luminous-from-within radiance. Reveals skin's finest texture, too. Works to optimise natural cell renewal, gently, continually, unveiling skin that's brighter, healthier, more uniform. Becomes softer, younger over time." I love every single word!

6 - I'm always on the search for a good moisturizer that is light enough not to make my combination skin oily, but also hydrating enough to fight dry patches and first wrinkles. I've always heard good things about the Kiehl's rosa arctica moisturizer, but I've always been afraid it would have been too rich for my skin. However, I recently discovered that there is a lighter version, the Kiehl's rosa arctica lightweight cream (€ 52,00), that seems to be perfect for my skin! It's supposed to fight first sights of aging and to make the skin smooth and hydrated. Lovely!

Devo confessare che la mia wish list di prodotti di bellezza è molto, molto più lunga di quella che vi mostrerò in questo post. Ogni volta che vedo o sento parlare di un prodotto che mi sembra interessante, ne annoto il nome; tuttavia, è facile che passino mesi prima che mi ricordi dell'esistenza del prodotto in questione! Ecco perché la mia lista sembra diventare infinita! In questo post voglio mostrarvi una piccola selezione di prodotti che, al momento, occupano i primi post nella classifica dei miei prodotti più desiderati.

1 - Il primo è, ovviamente, un fondotinta. Avendo una particolare predilezione per i fondotinta, non appena ne viene lanciato uno nuovo, le mie antenne si allertano! Questo, in particolare, è il nuovo nato in casa Dior, il Diorskin Star (€ 43,00). Da quanto ho avuto modo di leggere, si tratta di un fondotinta molto leggero sulla pelle che, tuttavia, è in grado di raggiungere una buona media coprenza. Inoltra, illumina l'incarnato senza, però, lucidare la pelle. Leggero, illuminante, anti-lucido? Lo voglio. 

2 - Un altro fondotinta che è nella mia wish list da ormai un bel po' di tempo non è in realtà un fondotinta tradizionale. Si tratta del Benefit Bigger that BB Big Easy Multi-Blancing Skin Perfector spf 35 (€ 38,90). Nome lungo, vero? Normalmente non amo le BB cream, le trovo troppo grasse e non poi così leggere sulla pelle e, soprattutto, non credo neanche un po' al miracolo di "10 proprietà in 1". Questo prodotti di Benefit, tuttavia, sembra essere pensato per pelli miste/grasse e il suo finish cipriato dovrebbe garantirne la durata. Non ci credo finchè non lo vedo sulla mia pelle!

3 - La mia cipria preferita in assoluto è la Mineral Veil di Bare Minerals, tuttavia una cipria in polvere libera non è l'ideale da tenere in borsa per veloci ritocchi durante la giornata. Per questo motivo sto cercando una buona cipria compatta e la Ever Matte di Clarins (€ 31,50) sembra fare proprio al caso mio. E poi il contenitore metallico dorato è carinissimo!

4 - Al momento sono molto soddisfatta della mia routine di cura dei capelli, tuttavia c'è un prodotto che credo potrebbe migliorarla ulteriormente: l'Invisible Oil Primer di Bumble & Bumble  (€ 27,50). Tutti prodotti di questa linea mi sembrano ottimi, ma questo primer è quello che sta ottenendo il maggior numero di recensioni positive. Si applica prima di procedere allo styling e ammorbidisce i capelli, proteggendoli dalle radiazioni UV. Non male, vero?

5 - Come forse saprete, sono una grande amante dei sieri, trovo che possano fare davvero molto per la nostra pelle; in particolare, amo i seri illuminanti ed esfolianti. Ecco perché il siero Turnaround Concentrate Radiance Eenewer di Clinique (€ 59,50) attira così tanto la mia attenzione. Ecco come viene descritto sul sito di Clinique: "Il concentrato che illumina, grazie ad un processo di rinnovamento cellulare multi-livello. Leviga la superficie epidermica donandole un aspetto più luminoso ed omogeneo. Nel tempo la presenza delle linee sottili si attenua notevolmente". Adoro ogni singola parola!

6 - Sono sempre alla ricerca di una buona crema idratante che sia abbastanza leggera da non rendere la mia pelle lucida e sufficientemente idratante da combattere le prime rughe. Ho sentito parlare molto bene della crema Rosa Arctica di Kiehl's, ma ho sempre temuto fosse troppo ricca per la mia pelle. Recentemente, però, ho scoperto l'esistenza della Rosa Arctica Lightweight (€ 52,00), appositamente pensata per pelli miste/grasse. Dovrebbe combatte i primi segni di invecchiamento e lasciare la pelle soffice ed idratata. Bene, bene.

Face of the week

Being a beauty and make up addict, I almost never wear the same make up products one day after the other, because I always like to try new products and different combinations. However, this week, every time I've worn make up, I've been loyal to the same look.

For my base, the only one that I've reached for has been the Bare Minerals Matte foundation (€ 28,90). I like it because it's so lightweight that it doesn't feel like I'm wearing foundation at all. The coverage is light, but I'm fine with that, I can always add some concealer if I need to. Moreover, when I set it with a powder, it lasts all day. My shade is Light W15.

Speaking of concealer, the one that I've been using this week is my Nars Radiant Creamy concealer (€ 27,50), which, even if it's not my favorite concealer in the world for the under eye area, has the merit of having a very good coverage and lasting power. Moreover, is very quick and easy to apply, I blend it with my finger and the work is done.

For my blush, I've been using the Rockateur Blush by Benefit (€ 33,50) all Summer long. I've talked about it in my July favorites here and my opinion hasn't changed. I think it's a beautiful shade and I'm pretty sure it would suit any skin tone.

To set everything in place, I've been using the Primed & Poreless loose powder by Too Faced (€ 28,90). Even if I still love the Mineral Veil powder by Bare Minerals better, this powder does a quite good job in keeping my T-zone matte for a good amount of hours and leaves a very nice silky finish on my skin.

I've been keeping my eyes make up pretty basic. On the eyelids I've been using the Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow by Kiko (€ 6,90) in the shade 07, a beautiful golden champagne shade that instantly brightens the eyes. These stick eyeshadows by Kiko are brilliant, the color payoff is amazing and their lasting power is great.

Normally, I would use a brown mascara, especially for the day time, but, since I've been keeping my eye make up so simple, I have been reaching for Le Volume de Chanel (€ 30,00), in the black shade, in order to make my lashes stand out. I really like this mascara, it's volumizing but, at the same time, it gives a very polished look to my lashes.

Finally, on my lips I've been using the Maybelline Baby Lips (€ 4,15) lip balm in the shade "Cherry me", in order to keep them hydrated and, at the same time, add a bit of color. I have a few of the Baby Lips lip balms, but this one is my favorites by far. It gives a nice cherry color to the lips, but it's very sheer and natural. Lovely.

Essendo appassionata di make up e di prodotti di bellezza in genere, mi capita raramente di scegliere di indossare lo stesso make up per due giorni consecutivi, poiché amo continuamente provare nuovi prodotti e diversi abbinamenti. Tuttavia, nell'ultima settimana, tutte le volte che ho deciso di truccarmi, sono rimasta fedele allo stesso look.

Per quanto riguarda la base, l'unico fondotinta per il quale ho optato in questi giorni è stato il Bare Minerals Matte (€ 28,90), che possiedo nella tonalità Light W15. Questo prodotto mi pace perché è talmente leggero sulla pelle che pare di non indossare nulla. Certo, la coprenza non è alta, ma la cosa non rappresenta un problema per me: se ne sento la necessità, posso sempre ricorrere ad un po' di correttore. Inoltre, se fissato con una buona cipria, dura tutto il giorno senza lucidarsi.

A proposito di correttore, quello che sto utilizzando ogni giorno è il correttore Eclat di Nars (€ 28,90), il quale, sebbene non sia il mio preferito per l'area sotto gli occhi, ha l'innegabile pregio di avere una buonissima coprenza ed un'ottima tenuta. Inoltre, la sua applicazione è semplice e veloce: lo sfumo con le dita ed il gioco è fatto.

Per quanto riguarda il blush, ho utilizzato il Rockateur di Benefit (€ 33,50) praticamente per tutta l'estate. Ne avevo già parlato nel post relativo ai preferiti del mese di Luglio, che trovate qui, e la mia opinione non è cambiata di una virgola. Trovo che sia una tonalità meravigliosa e sono convita che si addica a qualunque tipo di carnagione.

Per fissare il tutto, sto utilizzando la cipria in polvere libera Primed & Poreless di Too Faced (€ 28,90). Pur preferendole la Minerla Vail di Bare Minerals, questa cipria riesce comunque abbastanza bene nell'intento di mantenere la mia zona T opaca per un buon numero di ore e dona alla pelle un bellissimo finish setoso. 

Ho deciso di mantenere il trucco sugli occhi molto basico. Sulle palpebre mi sono limitata ad applicare il Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow di Kiko (€ 6,90) nella tonalità 07, un bellissimo color champagne dorato che illumina istantaneamente gli occhi. Questi ombretti in stick di Kiko sono davvero ottimi, hanno un resa di colore eccellente e durano tutto il giorno anche senza primer.

Normalmente opterei per un mascara marrone, soprattutto per il giorno, ma, poiché ho mantenuto il trucco sugli occhi così minimal, sto preferendo ricorrere a Le Volume de Chanel (€ 30,00) nel colore nero, così da far risaltare al massimo le ciglia. Questo mascara mi piace moltissimo, è volumizzante ma, la tempo stesso, conferisco un aspetto ordinato e definito alle mie ciglia.

Per finire, sulle labbra sto utilizzando il balsamo Baby Lips di Maybelline (€ 4,90) nella tonalità "Cherry Me", così da mantenerle idratate e, allo stesso tempo, aggiungere un tocco di colore. Possiedo alcuni di questi balsami labbra di Maybelline, ma questo è di gran lunga il mio preferito. Ravviva la tonalità delle labbra con una punta di color ciliegia, mantenendo l'effetto complessivo molto naturale.

July favorites

It's the end of July and that means that holidays are close, which makes me very happy. As you know, it's also time to show you the products I've loved the most during this month.

The first one is a skincare product that I have bought a while ago but I've started to use it regularly only recently. It's the Ren Clarimatte Invisible Pores Detox Mask (€ 29,50), a clay mask that is supposed to reduce the appearance of pores and purify the skin. It's not a miracle worker, but if you give it time, you can definitely see some improvements in your skin. What I like the most about it it's the fact that, while the majority of purifying masks can be a little harsh, this one is very gentle and doesn't dry out my skin, which is good, considering that my skin has been super sensitive lately.

If you don't know yet, I'm obsessed with lip balms. My lips tend to get very dry and I always have to relay on some good lips moisturizing product in order to keep them soft and hydrated. Lately I've been in love with The Body Shop Aloe Lip Care (€ 9,00), it keeps my lips smooth and moisturized for long, every time I apply it before I go to bed, the morning after it's still on  my lips! And I also really like it's luminous finish!

This month my love for the Lush Daddy-O shampoo (€ 7,50) (I've talked about it in this post) has grown out of all proportions. I am obsessed with it. Not only I love the violet smell it has, but I really like how soft and clean it lives my hair. It also does a great job in keeping my blond hair from becoming dull or too yellowish. 

As far as make up, this month I've rediscovered my Benefit Rockateur blush (€ 33,50). I've bought it before Christmas and, even if I liked it, I didn't use it that much during winter time. Now, however, I've started using it again and I love it. I think it's perfect for summertime, it's a rose gold with a nice worm undertone and a slightly shimmering finish. Once applied on the skin, it turns into a sort of bronzy pink color, which emphasizes very well the sun kissed summer glow of the skin.

Another make up product I've been appreciating a lot is the Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow from Kiko (€ 6,90) in the shade 07, a beautiful shimmering champaign color. Like its name suggests, it's very long lasting and it's also no transfer. Sometimes I use it on its own on my eyelids and sometimes I apply it above other eyeshadows, in order to brighten them. You can also use it on the inner corner of your eyes as an highlighter. And it's super easy to apply! Lovely!

Siamo alla fine di Luglio, il che significa che le vacanze estive si avvicinano, cosa che mi rende ovviamente molto felice. Significa anche che è giunto il momento dell'appuntamento con i miei prodotti preferiti del mese.

Il primo è un prodotto di cura della pelle che ho acquistato un po' di tempo fa, ma che ho iniziato ad utilizzare con regolarità solo recentemente. Si tratta della maschera purificante delle linea Clarimatte di Ren (€ 29,50), una maschera a base d'argilla che ha lo scopo di ridurre l'aspetto dei pori e purificare la pelle dalle impurità. Non è un prodotto miracoloso, ma se gli si concede del tempo, i miglioramenti della pelle sono sicuramente visibili. Inoltre, apprezzo molto il fatto che, a differenza della maggior parte delle maschere purificanti, che tendono ad essere un po' aggressive, questa è estremamente delicata, cosa molto positiva, considerando il fatto che la mia  pelle, in quest'ultimo mese, è diventata diventata particolarmente sensibile.

Qualora ancora non lo sapeste, ho un'ossessione per i balsami labbra. Le mie labbra tendono a seccarsi molto, motivo per cui ho sempre bisogno di affidarmi ad un buon balsamo idratante. Ultimamente sto adorando il trattamento labbra all'aloe di The Body Shop (€ 9,00), mantiene le mie labbra morbide ed idratate a lungo e quando lo applico la sera prima di coricarmi, la mattina seguente le labbra sono ancora morbidissime come se l'avessi appena applicato. Inoltre, mi piace moltissimo il suo finish luminoso!

Durante questo ultimo mese il mio amore per lo shampoo Dorian Gray di Lush (€ 7,90) (ne ho parlato in questo post) è cresciuto a dismisura. Ne sono letteralmente ossessionata. Non solo adoro il suo profumo di violetta, ma trovo che lasci i miei capelli incredibilmente morbidi e puliti, oltre al fatto che fa davvero un buon lavoro nel preservare il biondo, impedendo che si ingiallisca i diventi spento. 

Per quanto riguarda il make up, questo mese ho avuto modo di riscoprire il blush Rockateur di Benefit (€ 33,50). L'ho acquistato prima di Natale, ma, sebbene mi piacesse molto, non l'ho utilizzato spesso durante l'interno. Ora, invece, non posso farne a meno. Trovo che sia il colore perfetto per l'estate, un rosa dorato con sottotono caldo ed un finish leggermente brillante. Una volta applicato, vira verso un bronzo rosato che enfatizza benissimo il colore naturale della pelle abbronzata.

Un altro cosmetico che sto apprezzando molto è il Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow di Kiko (€ 6,90) nella tonalità 07, un bellissimo color champagne luminoso. Come il nome suggerisce, si tratta di un ombretto in stick a lunga durata e no transfer. A volte lo applico da solo sulla palpebra, altre volte, invece, mi piace stenderlo sopra altri ombretti per renderli più luminosi. Inoltre, può anche essere utilizzato come illuminante nell'angolo interno degli occhi. Per non parlare della facilità con cui si applica. Fantastico!

All that glow

I've always been a fan of a matte make up look, probably because, with my combination skin type, glowing and dewy products don't usually work for me.

Sometimes, anyway, I like to shake up my routine and reach for a little more luminous effect. When this happens, there are some products I always relay on, because I know they won't ever disappoint me.

First of all, the base I use is (can you guess?) the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation (€ 38,00). You've probably got sick of me talking about this product, I think I mention it in almost each one of my posts, but what can I say, I love it. It's super light weight but it still gives a nice buildable coverage, it's luminous but in a very beautiful natural way, without being too dewy, and it doesn't perform badly on my skin, in terms on longevity. 

The highlighter I use to add a little more glow to my skin is the Benefit Sun Beam (€ 27,90). It's a golden bronze highlighter that gives your skin a beautiful sun-kissed radiance. I like to use it mostly on Summer, applying it over my cheekbones and browbones. I love how it compliments my skin tone. 

Moving on to blush, I love the Nars Deep Throat one (€ 30,50). It's a coral shade with a touch of golden shimmery that gives luminosity to the skin without being too sparkling. It's a warm shade that's not too orange, nor too pink, with a buildable intensity: you can go light for an everyday look, or add some product for a more defined night time look. It's one of my all time favorite blushes. 

For the eyes, the eyeshadow I reach for when I want some glow is the Maybelline Color Tattoo (€ 10,90) in the shade Bronze from the Dare to go Nude collection. I love the fact that it's easy and quick to use and I think the bronze golden shade looks beautiful with every eyes colors.  

Sometimes, I use a golden vanilla eye pencil on the lower waterline of my eyes. I prefer a vanilla shade over a white one, because I think the white shade can look too evident, while a vanilla one is a little more subtle. My favorite at the moment is the Contour eye pencil 12 HR wear from Sephora (€ 8,90) in the shade "Blonde Ambition". It's a waterproof eye pencil that lasts all day, but it can be easily removed with any cleanser. It opens up the eyes while adding a bit of shimmer. Lovely.

Eventually, for the lips, I like my Dior Addict Lipstick (€ 30,50) in the shade 652 "Tango", which is a very pretty light coral shade with a shiny finish and almost the consistency of a lip balm. It keeps my lips moisturized and, even if it's very sheer, it can be easily built into a more intense color. It's not shimmering but it's very luminous, which is the reason why I think it could be the perfect finishing touch for a nice natural glowing look.

Sono sempre stata un'amante di prodotti per il make up con effetto matte, probabilmente perché sono quelli che hanno una performance migliore sulla mia pelle mista.
Tuttavia, a volte mi capita di voler stravolgere completamente la mia solita routine ed optare per un effetto più luminoso. A questo scopo, faccio sempre affidamento su alcuni prodotti che non mi deludono mai.

Per prima cosa, la base che prediligo in questi casi è (indovinate?) il fondotinta Vitalumiere Aqua di Chanel (€ 38,00). Probabilmente sarete stanchi di sentirmi parlare di questo prodotto, mi sembra di menzionarlo praticamente in ogni mio post, ma cosa posso farci? Lo adoro. E' leggerissimo sulla pelle ma riesce comunque a fornire una buona coprenza, ha un bellissimo finish luminoso ma molto naturale e non si comporta male sulla mia pelle mista in termini di tenuta.

L'illuminante che utilizzo quando voglio dare un ulteriore tocco di luce al viso è il Sun Beam di Benefit (€ 27,90). Si tratta di un highlighter bronzo dorato che rende la pelle radiose come fosse baciata dal sole. Per questo motivo, mi piace utilizzarlo prevalentemente nei mesi estivi, applicandolo sugli zigomi e sotto l'arcata sopracciliare. Mi piace moltissimo l'effetto sano e luminoso che conferisce.

Per quanto riguarda, invece, il blush, la mia preferenza ricade su Deep Throat di Nars (€ 30,50). E' una bellissima tonalità corallo, con un tocco d'oro che conferisce luminosità al viso senza, tuttavia, essere eccessivamente brillante. E' un colore caldo che non vira né troppo all'arancio, né troppo al rosa, ed è facilmente modulabile in intensità: si può scegliere di applicarne un leggero strato per un look adatto a tutti i gironi, oppure si può decidere di aggiungere altro prodotto per un effetto più definito, perfetto per la sera. Questo blush è senza dubbio uno dei miei preferiti di sempre.

L'ombretto che di solito scelgo quando voglio un tocco di luce sulle palpebre è il Color Tattoo di Maybelline (€ 10,90) nella tonalità Bronze, dalla collezione Dare to Go Nude. Trovo che sia facile e veloce da applicare e che la tonalità bronzo dorata doni moltissimi tanto agli occhi chiari tanto quanto a quelli scuri.

A volte mi piace applicare una matita occhi in una tonalità vaniglia dorata nella riga interna inferiore dell'occhio. Preferisco questa tonalità al classico bianco poiché trovo che quest'ultimo spesso risulti troppo evidente e finto; una tonalità un po' più calda e luminosa risulta, invece, più delicata e, quindi, più facile da portare. Al momento la mia preferita è la Contour eye pencil 12 HR wear di Sephora (€ 8,90) nel colore "Blonde ambition". Essendo waterproof, ha una buonissima tenuta ma, allo staso tempo, si rimuove facilmente con qualunque detergente. Fa davvero un ottimo lavoro dell'aprire lo sguardo e donare un tocco di luminosità. Adorabile.

Infine, per dare colore alle labbra, la mia arma segreta è il rossetto Dior Addict (€ 30,50) nella tonalità 652 "Tango", un bellissimo corallo chiaro con la consistenza simile a quella di un balsamo labbra. Mantiene le labbra idratate e, pur essendo molto leggero, può facilmente essere modulato per ottenere un colore più intenso. Non è brillante, ma è molto luminoso, motivo per cui trovo che sia il tocco finale perfetto per un look radioso ma naturale al tempo stesso.

Disappointing product #1: Benefit They're are Real Mascara

Mascara is the kind of product that can really improve your look, being able to open up your eyes and to intensify your eye look. There are mascaras for every need: volumizing mascaras, lenghtening mascaras, curling mascaras, mascaras that give a more natural look, mascaras that separate your lashes, etc.

What I usually search for is a volumizing mascara, since my lashes are quite long on their own, and my all time favourite is the Diorshow Extase. Despite that, sometimes I like to try something different and test new products. The one I’ve decided to try after all the positive reviwes I’ve read on the internet, is They’re Real from Benefit (€ 24,90). This seems to be the kind of product that you can either love or hate and that is what mostly intrigued me and the reason why I bought it. First of all, what is it? This is what the Sephora site says:

“A jet-black mascara that lengthens, curls, volumizes, lifts, and separates lashes for a spectacular "out-to-here" look.”

I had a lot of expectations about this product, but, as the title of the post suggests, I was very disappointed. It is a volumizing mascara, I agree with that, but it’s not lenghtening at all. As I’ve said above, I already have quite long lashes, so this is not a problem form me, even if, when I pay for a product that claims to give lenght to my lashes, I expet it to do exactly what it says. Moreover, it doesn’t curl, lift or separate my lashes at all and it gives them a clumpy and spidery look. To top it all, it’s very difficult to remove and it started making me loose some lashes.

I’m  not saying that it is the worst mascara in the world, it does give volume to my lashes, but I think that there are drugstore mascaras that cost half the prize and give the same result.

I won’t buy it again!

Il mascara è quel genere di prodotto che è in grado da solo di migliorare il nostro look, aprendo ed intensificando lo sguardo con un minimo sforzo. Esistono mascara rivolti a soddisfare ogni tipo di necessità: mascara volumizzanti, allunganti, incurvanti, mascara che donano un effetto naturale, mascara che separano le ciglia, ecc.

Personalmente, quello che cerco in un mascara è la capacità di donare volume, avendo ciglia che, pur essendo chiare, sono comunque abbastanza lunghe naturalmente. Il mio mascara preferito è il Diorshow Extase, ma tendo spesso ad abbandonarlo per sperimentare prodotti diversi. In particolare, quello che ho deciso di acquistare dopo le numerose recensioni positive che ho letto, è They’re Real di Benefit (€ 24,90). Questo mascara sembra essere il classico prodotto che si ama o si odia e probabilmente è proprio questo ad avermi incuriosito maggiormente.

Prima di tutto, di cosa si tratta. Riporto quanto affermato sul sito di Sephora:

“Il mascara da non credere ai propri occhi! Questo innovativo prodotto allunga, volumizza e incurva le ciglia per uno sguardo spettacolare! La sua formula nera glossy a lunga tenuta non cola, non sbava e non si secca… per ciglia impeccabili tutta la giornata!”

Avevo molte aspettative dopo aver letto quanto sopra riportato, ma, come avrete capito dal titolo del post, sono rimasta decisamente delusa.

Sono d’accordo sul fatto che sia un mascara volumizzante, perché senza dubbio è in grado di donare molto volume alle mie ciglia, ma non lo trovo affatto allungante. Come ho detto prima, questo non sarebbe di per sé un problema, avendo ciglia già abbastanza lunghe; il problema risiede nel fatto che, nel momento in cui pago per un prodotto che si propone di donare un effetto allungante, mi aspetto che faccia esattamente quanto promesso. Trovo, inoltre, che non sia per nulla incurvante e che lasci le ciglia incollate tra loro e non ben definite. Infine, è davvero molto difficile da togliere, tanto che spesso mi sono ritrovata a perdere qualche ciglia nel tentativo di struccarmi. Non lo ricomprerò!

Beauty haul

These days have been creazy for me, but somehow I’ve found the time to do a little shopping and I would like to show you what I bought.

The first product is a skincare product from Clarins, the Lotus Oil Face Treatment (€ 34,95). This is basically an oil for combination/oily skin that should be used as a night treatment. It’s supposed to purify and tighten pores, refining the skin texture, moisturize and prevent fine lines. You only need two or three drops of it, so a little goes a long way. It’s also made of 100% pure plant extracts and zero preservatives. Sounds good, right? I’ve been using it two or three times a week and I have to say that when I wake up in the morning I can definitely see a difference in my skin, it seems softer and more radiant. So far so good.

Another skincare product I bought is the Bioderma Sébium Pore Refiner (€ 15,00). I decided to buy it because Lisa Eldridge mentioned it in her french pharmacie skincare favourites video. Since I don’t use primers, I thought this could be a great alternative, because it claims to be able to mattify the skin and make pores appear less visible. I have used it a couple of time, applying it only on my t-zone, and it really makes my skin look softer and smoother and makes my foundation last a bit longer. I’m very happy with it.

I’ve also made a qick stop at Lush’s and I bought the Popcorn Lip Scrub (€ 7,35), I’ve never tried it before, but everyone says great things about it, so I decided to give it a go. And I love the popcorn taste!

Talking about makeup, I needed a new mascara and I decided to try the YSL Baby Boll (€ 29,90). I’m a big fan of volumizing mascaras and my all time favourite is the Diorshow Extase, but I wanted to try something different and this cought my eyes. It’s not as volumizing as the Dior one, but it makes my lashes look longer and it’s very easy and quick to apply, unlike the Diorshow Extase. 

I also bought the Make Up Forever Full Cover (€ 30,90), since I needed a full coverage concealer, and I’m very impressed with it, it covers everything without looking cakey.

I wanted to buy the Hoola bronzer by Benefit, but the girl at the counter told me that this bonzer is way too dark for my skintone (pale girls problems) and suggested me to take a look at their Rockateur blush (€ 32,90) instead. And I find it to be a very nice blush, indeed. It’s a beautiful dusty pink shade with a little bit of shimmer in it that gives a gourgeus luminous finish. I think it’s the kind of blush that looks great on cadaveric lighter skin tones like mine.

The last purchases I wanna show you are from Kiko. First of all, I bought an Infinity Eyeshadow (€ 4,90) for my Kiko eye click 09 palette, and I choose the number 214. It’s a very nice matte neutral color, with a touch of pink in it. I like Kiko eyeshadows as they’re very pigmented and very inexpensive. Next, I picked up an eyelash curler (€ 5,90) and I have to say it works really well on my lashes. The last thing I bought is n. 106 round foundation brush (€ 12,90), I already own a couple of Kiko brushes and I think they have a pretty good quality, so I’m sure this one will be nice too.

In questi ultimi giorni sono stata molto impegnata, ma in qualche modo ho trovato il tempo di fare un po’ di shopping e vorrei mostrarvi cosa ho acquistato.

Il primo prodotto è il Lotus Oil di Clarins (€ 34,95). Si tratta fondamentalmente di un olio pensato per pelli miste o grasse da applicare sul viso come trattamento serale. La sua funzione è quella di purificare ed astringere i pori, migliorare l’aspetto della pelle, idratare e prevenire la comparsa di rughe. E’ sufficiente applicarne due o tre gocce, per cui sono certa che mi durerà a lungo. Inoltre è composto al 100% di puri estratti di piante ed è privo di conservanti. Sembra magnifico, non è così? Lo sto usando due o tre volte a settimana e devo ammettere che il mattino successivo posso sicuramente vedere la differenza, la mia pelle appare più morbida e levigata. Per ora sono molto soddisfatta.

Un altro prodotto di cura della pelle che ho avuto modo di acquistare è il Bioderma Sébium Pore Refiner (€ 15,00). Ho deciso di provarlo dopo averne sentito parlare da Lisa Eldridge nel video in cui mostra i suoi prodotti farmaceutici francesi preferiti. Poiché non utilizzo alcun primer, ho pensato che questo potesse essere una valida alternativa, poiché si propone di opacizzare la pelle e ridurre l’aspetto dei pori. Per ora l’ho usato solo un paio di volte solo sulla zona T e l’effetto è davvero soddisfacente, la pelle sembra più levigata ed il fondotinta dura un po’ più a lungo.

Ho, poi, finalmente messo le mani sullo scrub labbra Popcorn di Lush (€ 7,35); sembra essere un prodotto molto apprezzato sul web, per cui ho deciso di provarlo. E sa davvero di popcorn!

Passando, invece, al makeup, avevo bisogno di un nuovo mascara e ho optato per il YSL Baby Doll mascara (€ 29,90). Amo molto i mascara volumizzanti e quello che preferisco è il Diorshow Extase, ma volevo provare qualcosa di diverso e questo di YSL ha catturato la mia attenzione. Devo dire che per quanto riguarda la capacità di conferire volume alle ciglia non riesce ad eguagliare il mascara di Dior, ma ha un bell’effetto allungante ed è facile e veloce da applicare, a differenza del Diorshow Extase.

Un altro acquisto che ho effettuato è il correttore Make Up Forever Full Cover (€ 30,90); avevo, infatti, bisogno di un correttore con una buona coprenza e devo ammettere che sono rimasta molto colpita dalla capacità di questo di coprire ogni imperfezione mantenendo comunque un effetto molto naturale.

Avevo anche intenzione di comprare il bronzer Hoola di Benefit, ma l’addetta alle vendite del corner Benefit mi ha mostrato come le tonalità fosse troppo scura per la mia carnagione (problemi da ragazza pallida!), suggerendomi, invece, di dare un’occhiata al loro nuovo blush, il Rockateur (€ 32,90). Ed è davvero un blush molto bello, ha una meravigliosa tonalità di rosa antico leggermente luminoso e trovo che sia particolarmente adatto alle carnagioni più cadaveriche chiare come la mia.

Gli ultimi acquisti che vorrei mostrarvi sono tutti di Kiko. Per prima cosa ho aggiunto un ombretto della linea Infinity Eyeshadow (€ 4,90) alla palette componibile 09 che possiedo. Ho scelto il colore n. 214, una tonalità nude con un leggero tocco di rosa ed un effetto matte. Mi piacciono molto gli ombretti di questo marchio perché hanno una forte pigmentazione e sono davvero poco costosi. In seguito ho acquistato il loro piegaciglia (€ 5,90) e trovo che faccia un ottimo lavoro con le mie ciglia. Infine ho preso il pennello per fondotinta n. 106 Round Foundation Brush (€ 12,90). Possiedo già altri pennelli di Kiko e hanno tutti una buona qualità, per cui sono certa che anche questo non mi deluderà.
