Face of the week

Being a beauty and make up addict, I almost never wear the same make up products one day after the other, because I always like to try new products and different combinations. However, this week, every time I've worn make up, I've been loyal to the same look.

For my base, the only one that I've reached for has been the Bare Minerals Matte foundation (€ 28,90). I like it because it's so lightweight that it doesn't feel like I'm wearing foundation at all. The coverage is light, but I'm fine with that, I can always add some concealer if I need to. Moreover, when I set it with a powder, it lasts all day. My shade is Light W15.

Speaking of concealer, the one that I've been using this week is my Nars Radiant Creamy concealer (€ 27,50), which, even if it's not my favorite concealer in the world for the under eye area, has the merit of having a very good coverage and lasting power. Moreover, is very quick and easy to apply, I blend it with my finger and the work is done.

For my blush, I've been using the Rockateur Blush by Benefit (€ 33,50) all Summer long. I've talked about it in my July favorites here and my opinion hasn't changed. I think it's a beautiful shade and I'm pretty sure it would suit any skin tone.

To set everything in place, I've been using the Primed & Poreless loose powder by Too Faced (€ 28,90). Even if I still love the Mineral Veil powder by Bare Minerals better, this powder does a quite good job in keeping my T-zone matte for a good amount of hours and leaves a very nice silky finish on my skin.

I've been keeping my eyes make up pretty basic. On the eyelids I've been using the Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow by Kiko (€ 6,90) in the shade 07, a beautiful golden champagne shade that instantly brightens the eyes. These stick eyeshadows by Kiko are brilliant, the color payoff is amazing and their lasting power is great.

Normally, I would use a brown mascara, especially for the day time, but, since I've been keeping my eye make up so simple, I have been reaching for Le Volume de Chanel (€ 30,00), in the black shade, in order to make my lashes stand out. I really like this mascara, it's volumizing but, at the same time, it gives a very polished look to my lashes.

Finally, on my lips I've been using the Maybelline Baby Lips (€ 4,15) lip balm in the shade "Cherry me", in order to keep them hydrated and, at the same time, add a bit of color. I have a few of the Baby Lips lip balms, but this one is my favorites by far. It gives a nice cherry color to the lips, but it's very sheer and natural. Lovely.

Essendo appassionata di make up e di prodotti di bellezza in genere, mi capita raramente di scegliere di indossare lo stesso make up per due giorni consecutivi, poiché amo continuamente provare nuovi prodotti e diversi abbinamenti. Tuttavia, nell'ultima settimana, tutte le volte che ho deciso di truccarmi, sono rimasta fedele allo stesso look.

Per quanto riguarda la base, l'unico fondotinta per il quale ho optato in questi giorni è stato il Bare Minerals Matte (€ 28,90), che possiedo nella tonalità Light W15. Questo prodotto mi pace perché è talmente leggero sulla pelle che pare di non indossare nulla. Certo, la coprenza non è alta, ma la cosa non rappresenta un problema per me: se ne sento la necessità, posso sempre ricorrere ad un po' di correttore. Inoltre, se fissato con una buona cipria, dura tutto il giorno senza lucidarsi.

A proposito di correttore, quello che sto utilizzando ogni giorno è il correttore Eclat di Nars (€ 28,90), il quale, sebbene non sia il mio preferito per l'area sotto gli occhi, ha l'innegabile pregio di avere una buonissima coprenza ed un'ottima tenuta. Inoltre, la sua applicazione è semplice e veloce: lo sfumo con le dita ed il gioco è fatto.

Per quanto riguarda il blush, ho utilizzato il Rockateur di Benefit (€ 33,50) praticamente per tutta l'estate. Ne avevo già parlato nel post relativo ai preferiti del mese di Luglio, che trovate qui, e la mia opinione non è cambiata di una virgola. Trovo che sia una tonalità meravigliosa e sono convita che si addica a qualunque tipo di carnagione.

Per fissare il tutto, sto utilizzando la cipria in polvere libera Primed & Poreless di Too Faced (€ 28,90). Pur preferendole la Minerla Vail di Bare Minerals, questa cipria riesce comunque abbastanza bene nell'intento di mantenere la mia zona T opaca per un buon numero di ore e dona alla pelle un bellissimo finish setoso. 

Ho deciso di mantenere il trucco sugli occhi molto basico. Sulle palpebre mi sono limitata ad applicare il Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow di Kiko (€ 6,90) nella tonalità 07, un bellissimo color champagne dorato che illumina istantaneamente gli occhi. Questi ombretti in stick di Kiko sono davvero ottimi, hanno un resa di colore eccellente e durano tutto il giorno anche senza primer.

Normalmente opterei per un mascara marrone, soprattutto per il giorno, ma, poiché ho mantenuto il trucco sugli occhi così minimal, sto preferendo ricorrere a Le Volume de Chanel (€ 30,00) nel colore nero, così da far risaltare al massimo le ciglia. Questo mascara mi piace moltissimo, è volumizzante ma, la tempo stesso, conferisco un aspetto ordinato e definito alle mie ciglia.

Per finire, sulle labbra sto utilizzando il balsamo Baby Lips di Maybelline (€ 4,90) nella tonalità "Cherry Me", così da mantenerle idratate e, allo stesso tempo, aggiungere un tocco di colore. Possiedo alcuni di questi balsami labbra di Maybelline, ma questo è di gran lunga il mio preferito. Ravviva la tonalità delle labbra con una punta di color ciliegia, mantenendo l'effetto complessivo molto naturale.

July favorites

It's the end of July and that means that holidays are close, which makes me very happy. As you know, it's also time to show you the products I've loved the most during this month.

The first one is a skincare product that I have bought a while ago but I've started to use it regularly only recently. It's the Ren Clarimatte Invisible Pores Detox Mask (€ 29,50), a clay mask that is supposed to reduce the appearance of pores and purify the skin. It's not a miracle worker, but if you give it time, you can definitely see some improvements in your skin. What I like the most about it it's the fact that, while the majority of purifying masks can be a little harsh, this one is very gentle and doesn't dry out my skin, which is good, considering that my skin has been super sensitive lately.

If you don't know yet, I'm obsessed with lip balms. My lips tend to get very dry and I always have to relay on some good lips moisturizing product in order to keep them soft and hydrated. Lately I've been in love with The Body Shop Aloe Lip Care (€ 9,00), it keeps my lips smooth and moisturized for long, every time I apply it before I go to bed, the morning after it's still on  my lips! And I also really like it's luminous finish!

This month my love for the Lush Daddy-O shampoo (€ 7,50) (I've talked about it in this post) has grown out of all proportions. I am obsessed with it. Not only I love the violet smell it has, but I really like how soft and clean it lives my hair. It also does a great job in keeping my blond hair from becoming dull or too yellowish. 

As far as make up, this month I've rediscovered my Benefit Rockateur blush (€ 33,50). I've bought it before Christmas and, even if I liked it, I didn't use it that much during winter time. Now, however, I've started using it again and I love it. I think it's perfect for summertime, it's a rose gold with a nice worm undertone and a slightly shimmering finish. Once applied on the skin, it turns into a sort of bronzy pink color, which emphasizes very well the sun kissed summer glow of the skin.

Another make up product I've been appreciating a lot is the Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow from Kiko (€ 6,90) in the shade 07, a beautiful shimmering champaign color. Like its name suggests, it's very long lasting and it's also no transfer. Sometimes I use it on its own on my eyelids and sometimes I apply it above other eyeshadows, in order to brighten them. You can also use it on the inner corner of your eyes as an highlighter. And it's super easy to apply! Lovely!

Siamo alla fine di Luglio, il che significa che le vacanze estive si avvicinano, cosa che mi rende ovviamente molto felice. Significa anche che è giunto il momento dell'appuntamento con i miei prodotti preferiti del mese.

Il primo è un prodotto di cura della pelle che ho acquistato un po' di tempo fa, ma che ho iniziato ad utilizzare con regolarità solo recentemente. Si tratta della maschera purificante delle linea Clarimatte di Ren (€ 29,50), una maschera a base d'argilla che ha lo scopo di ridurre l'aspetto dei pori e purificare la pelle dalle impurità. Non è un prodotto miracoloso, ma se gli si concede del tempo, i miglioramenti della pelle sono sicuramente visibili. Inoltre, apprezzo molto il fatto che, a differenza della maggior parte delle maschere purificanti, che tendono ad essere un po' aggressive, questa è estremamente delicata, cosa molto positiva, considerando il fatto che la mia  pelle, in quest'ultimo mese, è diventata diventata particolarmente sensibile.

Qualora ancora non lo sapeste, ho un'ossessione per i balsami labbra. Le mie labbra tendono a seccarsi molto, motivo per cui ho sempre bisogno di affidarmi ad un buon balsamo idratante. Ultimamente sto adorando il trattamento labbra all'aloe di The Body Shop (€ 9,00), mantiene le mie labbra morbide ed idratate a lungo e quando lo applico la sera prima di coricarmi, la mattina seguente le labbra sono ancora morbidissime come se l'avessi appena applicato. Inoltre, mi piace moltissimo il suo finish luminoso!

Durante questo ultimo mese il mio amore per lo shampoo Dorian Gray di Lush (€ 7,90) (ne ho parlato in questo post) è cresciuto a dismisura. Ne sono letteralmente ossessionata. Non solo adoro il suo profumo di violetta, ma trovo che lasci i miei capelli incredibilmente morbidi e puliti, oltre al fatto che fa davvero un buon lavoro nel preservare il biondo, impedendo che si ingiallisca i diventi spento. 

Per quanto riguarda il make up, questo mese ho avuto modo di riscoprire il blush Rockateur di Benefit (€ 33,50). L'ho acquistato prima di Natale, ma, sebbene mi piacesse molto, non l'ho utilizzato spesso durante l'interno. Ora, invece, non posso farne a meno. Trovo che sia il colore perfetto per l'estate, un rosa dorato con sottotono caldo ed un finish leggermente brillante. Una volta applicato, vira verso un bronzo rosato che enfatizza benissimo il colore naturale della pelle abbronzata.

Un altro cosmetico che sto apprezzando molto è il Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow di Kiko (€ 6,90) nella tonalità 07, un bellissimo color champagne luminoso. Come il nome suggerisce, si tratta di un ombretto in stick a lunga durata e no transfer. A volte lo applico da solo sulla palpebra, altre volte, invece, mi piace stenderlo sopra altri ombretti per renderli più luminosi. Inoltre, può anche essere utilizzato come illuminante nell'angolo interno degli occhi. Per non parlare della facilità con cui si applica. Fantastico!

No make up, make up

Even if I’m make up addicted, I don’t always like to wear lots of make up; there are days when I prefer to go bare face, with just a little help from make up to conceal what needs to be concealed and to make my pale face look a little more alive.

In these days I don’t usually wear foundation, unless I feel like I need to (= horrible, evil breakouts). In these cases I usually reach for a sheer base, like a very lightweight foundation or a bb or cc cream. I have to admit I’m not a big fan of bb creams, I find them to be a bit heavy and their color range is usually awful. When cc creams have been released I thought that they could have worked better for me, so, as you maight know if you follow me on Instagram, I decided to try the La Poche Posay Rosaliac CC cream (€ 21,20), which turned out to be perfect to achieve a no make up, make up look. When I first apply it my reaction was like “What the heck, this is way too dark and orange for me, I look like an Umpa Lumpa!!!”. This comes in only one shade, which is supposed to adjust to every skin tones. And it does! After a couple of minutes I’ve applied it, it just fades into my skin, giving it a nice and healthy radiance in a very natural way, like if it’s my bare skin, but better. It also has an SPF 30, which is always good. It doesn’t cover imperfections, so, if you have some, you’re going to need a concealer. The one I like to use if I need to it’s the Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage (€ 36,00), which has a very good coverage and is extremely long lasting. Under the eyes, instead, I like to use something lighter, like an highlighting pen and the one that I usually use when I do this kind of look is the highlighting pen with vitamin c from Bottega Verde (€ 12,99). It brightens my eyes, it doesn’t look greasy and the shade I use (Beige Rosè) matches perfectly my skin, so that, again, the result is very natural.

For a no make up make up look I don’t like to wear blushes, I prefer, instead, to use a light bronzer to contouring my face, in order to add a touch of color, for an healthy, sun-kissed look. The one I’m currently using is the Terre Saharienne Poudre de Soleil by YSL (€ 39,80) in shade 3. If you want to know more about this product, I’ve talked about it in my March favorites post here.

Now, for the eyes I use the Long Lasting stick eyeshadow from Kiko’s Kaleidoscopic collection (€ 13,90) in n. 28, a vanilla shade, in order to brighten and conceal any redness on the eyelids. This eyeshadow is not completely matte, but it’s not shimmering either. It has just a tiny bit of gold in it, but you can barely notice it, so the result is very natural.

If I want to wear mascara, I go for a brown one, like my Pupa Vamp mascara (€ 12,00) in the shade Chocolate brown. It’s a very nice volumizing mascara, it gives a bit of definition and volume to my lashes, but it’s not too intense, which is perfect for this kind of look.

Finally, the lips. In this case I normally opt for a lip balm and that’s it. Sometimes, anyway, I want to add a touch of color to my lips and what I like to use is the Chubby lip stick from Clinique in the color Whole lotta Honey (€ 17,50). What I like the most about this product is that it’s very moisturizing and the color is quite sheer and natural, it’s a sort of warm brown shade, very easy to apply and also very long lasting on my lips.

What are your secret for a no make up, make up look?

Anche se sono una make up addicted, non sempre amo indossare molto trucco; ci sono, infatti, giorni nei quali preferisco optare per un aspetto più naturale, ricorrendo all’aiuto del make up unicamente per correggere eventuali imperfezioni e per ravvivare un po’ la mia carnagione pallida.

In questi giorni, normalmente, non indosso fondotinta, a meno che non ne abbia le necessità (= orribili brufoli nefasti che compaiono sempre nel momento sbagliato!!!!). In questi casi, mi oriento verso una base molto leggera, come un fondotinta a bassa coprenza o una bb o cc cream. Devo confessare di non essere una grande fan delle bb cream, tutte quelle che ho provato fin’ora si sono rivelate troppo pesanti e con una terribile scelta di colorazioni. Quando sono state messe in commercio le cc cream ho pensato che avrebbero fatto un lavoro migliore con la mia pelle, motivo per cui, come probabilmente saprete se mi seguite su Intagram, ho deciso di acquistare la La Roche Posay Rosaliac CC cream (€21,20), che si è rivelata perfetta per raggiungere un "no make up, make up” look. Quando l’ho applicata la prima volta la mia reazione è stata “Ommioddio è scurissima e arancione sembro un Umpa Lumpa!!”. Questa crema, infatti, è disponibile in un’unica tonalità, che dovrebbe avere la capacità di adattarsi a qualsiasi carnagione. E, in effetti, è quello che fa, perlomeno nel mio caso. Dopo un paio di minuti dalla sua applicazione, infatti, svanisce sulla pelle, regalandole un aspetto sano e radioso, come se fosse la mia pelle nuda nelle sue condizioni migliori. Inoltre ha un SPF 30, il che non guasta mai. Essendo molto leggera, non copre eventuali imperfezioni, per le quali è necessario ricorrere ad un buon correttore. Quello che preferisco in questi casi è il Secret Camouflage di Laura Mercier (€ 36,00), che ha una buonissima coprenza a dura davvero molto. Sotto gli occhi, invece preferisco qualcosa di più leggero, come una penna illuminante e quella che di solito utilizzo per ottenere questo tipo di look è il correttore in penna illuminante con vitamina c di Bottega Verde (€ 12,99). Fa un ottimo lavoro nell’illuminare lo sguardo senza appesantirlo e la tonalità che utilizzo (Beige Rosa) si adatta perfettamente alla mia carnagione, facendo sì che l’effetto ottenuto sia, ancora una volta, estremamente naturale, come se non indossassi affatto make up.

Per un no make up, make up look non amo, normalmente, indossare il blush, preferendo, invece, optare per un leggero contouring con un bronzer chiaro, così da rendere i lineamenti più definiti e donare un po’ di colore e un aspetto più sano alla mia pelle. Quello che sto utilizzando al momento e del quale sono molto soddisfatta è il Terre Saharienne Poudre de Soleil di YSL (€ 39,80), nella tonalità numero 3. Passando agli occhi, di solito applico una piccola quantità dell’ombretto in stick della collezione Kaleidoscopic di Kiko (€ 13,90) nella tonalità numero 28, così da correggere eventuali rossori della palpebra e illuminare lo sguardo. Il finish non è completamente matte, ma nemmeno shimmer. Presenta, tuttavia, un leggero riflesso dorato che si nota appena, mantenendo, dunque, il risultato complessivo molto naturale.

A questo punto, normalmente, eviterei il mascara, ma nel caso decidessi di applicarlo, lascerei da parte il nero e mi orienterei verso un mascara marrone. Quello che al momento mi sta piacendo davvero molto è il Vamp di Pupa (€ 12,00) nella tonalità Chocolate brown.Si tratta di un mascara volumizzante molto buono, che regala un po’ di definizione e di volume alle mie ciglia, senza, tuttavia, essere eccessivamente intenso, il che lo rende perfetto per questo tipo di look.

Infine, le labbra. Anche in questo caso, normalmente applicherei solo un buon balsamo idratante, ma se decidessi di donare alle mie labbra un po’ di colore, allora sceglierei senza dubbio il mio Chubby lip stick di Clinique nella tonalità Whole lotta Honey (€ 17,50). Questo prodotto lascia le mie labbra idratate a lungo e la sua colorazione è molto leggera e neutra, è una sorta di marrone caldo, molto facile da applicare e molto duraturo sulle labbra.

April favorites

This month favorites are all about some new purchased and some old favorites of mine that I've recently rediscovered.

The first is a brand new product that has quickly become my top one favorite make up product of this month: the Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet foundation (€ 39,50). I've made a full review here and my opinion hasn't changed: I love everything about this product, I love the natural velvety finish, I love how light it feels on my skin, I love the coverage...it's just beautiful!

Speaking about Chanel, this month I've been rediscovering my love for a lipstick I bought last Summer but I didn't have the chance to test properly till recently. It's the Rouge Allure Velvet in the shade 42 "L'Eclatante" (€ 30,90). It's a matte, yet luminous, lipstick in a bright pink shade perfect for springtime. When I say luminous matte, I mean that the lipstick is not shimmery or glossy, but at the same time it's very creamy and hydrating. It's basically the same concept behind the Perfection Lumiere Velvet foundation. 

What I love the most about this lipstick, a part from the finish, is the fact that it's very long-wearing and non drying on the lips. Moreover, I'm in love with this shade: even if I find it hard to wear it in winter, I think it's beautiful for Spring/Summer season. It's very bright and rich, but it's also buildable in intensity, which I love!

Another old favorite of mine that I've been enjoying a lot this month it's the round foundation brush n. 106 from Kiko (€ 12,90). I've always liked this brush, but I think it works wonderfully with the lighter foundations I've been using lately. It's super easy and quick to use, it's very soft and it blends liquid foundations perfectly, leaving a very natural finish on the skin. I think, for the price you pay, the quality is very good.

A recent purchased that I've been loving a lot is the Mac Studio Finish concealer (€ 19,16). I have the shade NC15. I think it's very similar to the Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage, except the Mac one is easier to use. In fact, it's a lot creamier than the SC, which make it very easy to blend. It also doesn't accentuate dry patches, like the SC does. Like the SC, it has a very good coverage and lasts forever on the skin but, at the same time, it doesn't feel heavy at all. It's water resistant, fragrance free and non-acnegenic. I think I  might prefer this one over the Secret Camouflage!

The last product is a skincare product I've been using for a while but I've started liking it only recently. It's the Korff White Silk serum (€ 38,50). This serum is an anti-spot intensive treatment with a silky consistency. It contains Glycolidc acid and Whitening Complex and it's supposed to gently exfoliate the skin, making dark spots fade away, and help the regenerative process of the skin. I use it every morning before my moisturizer and it leaves my skin soft and hydrated, without being heavy or greasy. I think the texture of my skin has slightly improved since I've stared using it, even if the difference is not huge. I think it might work better against sun spots, which I don't have, but I like the fact that, even if it exfoliate my skin, it's very gentle and it makes the skin super soft.

I miei preferiti del mese di Aprile si dividono in nuovi acquisti che fanno per la prime volta la loro comparsa nella mia collezione e in vecchi amori riscoperti nel corso di questo mese.

Il primo è un prodotto nuovo nuovo, che è rapidamente diventato il mio preferito n. 1 di Aprile: il nuovo fondotinta Perfection Lumiere Velvet di Chanel (€ 39,50). Ne ho fatto una recensione completa qui e la mia opinione non è cambiata: adoro tutto di questo fondotinta, il suo finish vellutato, la sua leggerezza, la sua coprenza...è semplicemente meraviglioso!

A proposito di Chanel, questo mese ho riscoperto un rossetto che avevo acquistato verso la fine della scorsa Estate, ma non avevo ancora avuto modo di testare come si deve fino a poco tempo fa. Sto parlando del Rouge Allure Velvet nella tonalità n.42 "L'Eclatante" (€ 30,90). Si tratta di un rossetto rosa accesso, con un finish matte, seppur luminoso, che trovo perfetto per la stagione primaverile. Quando dico "matte seppur luminoso", mi riferisco al fatto che, pur non essendo brillante o glossy, è comunque un rossetto cremoso e abbastanza idratante, pertanto non risulta affatto opaco sulle labbra. E', in sostanza, lo stesso concetto che sta alla base della formulazione del fondotinta Perfection Lumiere Velvet.

Ciò che più apprezzo di questo rossetto, al di là del finish, è la sua capacità di durare a lungo senza seccare le labbra. Inoltre, trovo che la tonalità in questione sia molto particolare e, anche se non credo sia la tonalità più adatta da portare durante l'inverno, è bellissima per la Primavera/Estate. E' molto luminosa e pigmentata, ma è possibile modularne l'intensità, cosa che apprezzo molto.

Un'altra riscoperta di questo mese è il pennello per fondotinta Face 106 di Kiko (€ 12,90). In realtà è sempre stato uno dei miei pennelli preferiti, ma trovo che la sua performance sia ancora migliore quando utilizzato per applicare fondotinta più leggeri, come quelli sto utilizzando ultimamente. E' veramente veloce e facile da usare, ha setole sintetiche molto morbide ed in grado di sfumare perfettamente le basi liquide, donando un effetto estremamente naturale alla pelle. Trovo che abbia davvero un'ottima qualità ad un prezzo decisamente abbordabile. 

Un recente acquisto che sto apprezzando molto è il correttore Studio Finish di Mac (€ 19,16). La mia tonalità è NC15. Trovo che, per certi aspetti, sia molto simile al Secret Camouflage di Laura Mercier, tranne per il fatto che il correttore di Mac è decisamente più facile da utilizzare. Quest'ultimo, infatti, ha un consistenza molto più cremosa del SC, il che permette di applicarlo e sfumarlo senza fatica, e, a differenza del SC, non evidenzia eventuali zone secche sul viso. Come il SC, dura a lungo ed ha una buonissima coprenza, ma, allo stesso tempo, non risulta affatto pesante. E', inoltre, resistente all'acqua, privo di profumo e non induce eruzioni cutanee. Sto iniziando a preferire questo correttore al Secret Camouflage! 

L'ultimo prodotto è un prodotto di cura della pelle che sto utilizzando ormai da un bel po' ma che ho iniziato ad apprezzare solo di recente: si tratta del siero White Silk di Korff (€ 38,50). E' un trattamento intensivo anti macchie che presenta una consistenza estremamente setosa. Contiene acido glicolico e Whitening Complex, che dovrebbero garantire una leggera esfoliazione della pelle, facendo, così, svanire le macchie brune, e favorire il suo processo di rigenerazione. Io lo utilizzo ogni mattina prima della crema idratante e trovo che lasci la pelle morbida e idratata, senza, tuttavia, essere pesante o grasso. Credo cha la consistenza della mia pelle sia leggermente migliorata da quando ho iniziato ad utilizzarlo, anche se non posso dire che si tratti di un cambiamento drammatico. Probabilmente risulterebbe più efficace nel combattere le macchie causate da sole, che io invece non ho. Tuttavia mi piace il fatto che svolga un'azione esfoliante quotidiana in modo molto delicato e renda la mia pelle super soffice.
