Products I regret buying #1

This is the first post of a series of (I hope few!) posts I want to dedicate to the products that I regret buying.

The first product that really disappointed me is the Clarins Instant Eye Make-Up remover (€ 21,50). I've been reading a lot of good reviews about this product, so, when I run out of my Bioderma, which I use to remove my eye make up, I decided to try this one instead. It claims to be able to remove any kind of eye make up, even waterproof one, but I don't see how this could be, since it hardly removes a light layer of not waterproof mascara! I need to use a lot of product in order to get rid of my eye make up, which is never too heavy. It is not even closely comparable to my beloved Bioderma, which not only removes make up without any efforts, but it's also a lot gentler on my eyes!

The second product is not that bad, but I was expecting a bit more for such an hyped product. It's the Instant Concealer by, again, Clarins (€ 24,50). I usually love Clarins, I think it's a very good brand, but these two products just don't work for me. This concealer is, after all, a nice concealer, it has a good coverage, it can be used under the eye because is not too heavy, even if I don't find it to be hydrating either, and it doesn't look cakey...but, to me, it's nothing special. I have it in the lighter shade, that, as often happens with concealer, is slightly dark for me. I don't think I will buy it again.

A product that, instead, I think is really bad is the Pro buffing brush n. 62 by Sephora (€ 26,00), a flat buffing brush that I use (or, at least, I wanted to use!) to apply liquid foundation. There's not much to say except that it sheds a lot since the first application. It leaves bristles all over my face. Even after I washed it, it kept loosing bristles. I just can't use it, it's horrible. 

I told you here how positively impressed I was by the Lush Color Essential, which is, basically, their foundation. Unfortunately I cannot say the same thing about their Emotional Brilliance powder (€ 17,50). It's a light loose powder that would probably be great if you have normal or dry skin, but on my combination skin it's not able to keep my make shine free for more than a couple of hours. I like the fact that it's super lightweight, but you need to be very careful because, it you apply too much product it looks very pinkish. I've tried it with different foundations, but it doesn't work with any on them. Thumbs down!

Questo è il primo post di una serie di (spero pochi!) post che ho intenzione di dedicare ai prodotti che mi sono pentita di aver acquistato.

Il primo prodotto che mi ha molto delusa è lo struccante occhi di Clarins (€ 21,50). Ho letto molte recensioni positive su questo struccante, per cui, quando ho finito la mia acqua micellare di Bioderma, che uso per struccare gli occhi, ho deciso di sostituirla con questo prodotto. Stando a quanto scritto sulla confezione, dovrebbe essere in grado di rimuovere qualunque tipo di trucco, anche quello resistente all'acqua, ma non vedo davvero come ciò sia possibile, visto che trovo difficoltoso togliere anche solo una leggera passata di un normalissimo mascara. Devo usare una quantità spropositata di prodotto per riuscire a struccare bene gli occhi, anche se non uso mai un trucco pesante. Trovo che questo prodotto non si possa paragonare neanche lontanamente allo struccante di Bioderma, che, non solo rimuove qualunque tipo ti make up senza difficoltà, ma è anche molto più delicato per i miei occhi!

Il secondo prodotto in realtà non è poi così male. Tuttavia, visti i numerosi consensi che riceve, mi aspettavo molto di più. Si tratta del correttore Instant Concealer di, ancora una volta, Clarins (€ 24,50). In realtà normalmente i prodotti di Clarins mi piacciono molto, questi due, però, su di me proprio non funzionano. Il correttore in sé, come ho già detto, non è male, ha un buona coprenza, può essere usato anche sotto gli occhi perché non è eccessivamente pesante, anche se non trovo abbia una effetto idratante, come alcuni affermano, e in generale non risulta pastoso...però non è niente di che! Io lo possiedo nella tonalità più chiara, che, come spesso mi capita i con correttori, è leggermente scura per me. Non credo proprio che lo riacquisterò un volta terminato.

Un prodotto che, invece, trovo essere, senza dubbio, pessimo è il pennello Pro Buffing brush n. 62 di Sephora (€ 26,00), un pennello piatto che utilizzo (o, almeno, avrei voluto utilizzare!), per applicare fondotinta liquidi. Non c'è molto da dire se non che sin dalla prima applicazione ha iniziato a perdere molti, troppi, peli. Ho pensato che lavandolo la cosa si sarebbe risolta, ma così non è stato. Non riesco davvero ad utilizzarlo, mi lascia peli neri su tutta la faccia. Terribile.

Vi ho detto in questo post quanto fossi rimasta piacevolmente colpita dal Supplemento di Colore di Lush, che, è, in sostanza, il loro fondotinta. Purtroppo non posso dire lo stesso della loro cipria "Vibrazioni Emotive" (€ 17,50). Si tratta di una cipria in polvere libera leggerissima, che probabilmente sarebbe ottima su una pelle normale o secca, ma sulla mia pelle mista non riesce a opacizzare il trucco se non per un paio d'ore al massimo. Apprezzo la sua consistenza impalpabile, ma bisogna prestare molta attenzione a quanto prodotto si applica perché tende un po' al rosa. Ho provato ad utilizzarla con diversi fondotinta ma non c'è nulla da fare, non è il prodotto adatto a me!

Drugstore haul & reviews

I confess, I'm not a fan of drugstore make up, I always tend to prefer high end products, even if I'm aware of the fact that the quality of a product is not always proportioned to its price. That is exactly why I decided to buy some "low cost" make up and I want to share with you my thoughts about them.

The first item I want to talk about is the Maybelline Instant Anti-Age concealer (€ 8,95). This product always receives great reviews by beauty bloggers, so my expectations where quite high. I have to say that, although I think it's a good product, I'm not overly impressed by it. In Italy it comes in only two shades and the lightest one is a bit dark for me. The coverage is quite sheer, but it's not a problem for me, and I like the fact that it doesn't crease. However I prefer an under eye concealer with a more brightening effect.

Another product from Maybelline that I've been wanting to try for ages because of the great reviews it receives is The Rocket Volume Express mascara (€ 9,90). You know me, I love volumizing mascaras and my favorite one is the Dior Extase, which, however, is a bit expensive. I was hoping that this one would have been a cheaper alternative, but I was very disappointed. Honestly, I don't see any volumizing effect. I like the fact that it separates the lushes and it doesn't look clumpy, but in terms of volume it doesn't to anything. Moreover, I find it very hard to remove, even with make up removers for waterproof make up. I won't buy it again.

Another drugstore brand I wanted to try was Rimmel. The first product I picked up was the Stay Matte Powder (€ 7,50). I have combination skin and my t-zone tends to get a bit oily during the day, so I always need to apply a bit of powder. My favorite is the Mineral Veil by Mare Minerals, it does everything I need form a powder and it doesn't contain nasty ingredients, which is a great plus for me, since I have sensitive skin. Of course, the INCI of this Rimmel powder is not as clean, so I wouldn't use it every day, however I have to say I really like it. It feels very light on the skin and it gives a beautiful smoothing effect. It keeps my make up matte for almost all day and it doesn't alterate the color of my foundation. I have the shade "001 transparent", which is the lightest and it's perfect for my skin tone. I'm very impressed!

The other Rimmel item I picked up is the Lasting Finish Colour Rush (€ 9,99) in the shade "700 not an illusion". It's a long lasting tinted lip balm with a very good color payoff. It combines the hydration of a lip balm with the color intensity of a lipstick and it also has a very good staying power. The shade I choose is a peachy brown that can look very natural or can be built into a more intense shade. The finish is quite glossy but it doesn't contain any shimmer or iridescent. I love it.

The last product I wanted to give a go to is the L'Oreal True Match foundation (€ 16,50). I was a bit afraid to try it because, in my teens, I've used a L'Oreal foundation that broke me out and since than I've never used a drugstore foundation again. However, since a lot of people love this product, I thought it couldn't be that bad. I haven't worn it regularly, but form what I've been able so see, it's a very good base. The coverage is medium and the finish it extremely natural. It doesn't feel heavy on the skin and it has a good staying power. The shade I'm using is "N2 Vanilla", which is not bad but it's a bit too beige for a yellow skin toned like mine. Overall, I wouldn't use it every day because I'm still afraid to have some sort of reaction, but from time to time I think it could be a good alternative to my other foundations!

Lo confesso, non sono una grande amante dei marchi cosmetici a basso prezzo, tendo, infatti, sempre ad acquistare prodotti appartenenti a fasce di prezzo più elevate, sebbene sia consapevole del fatto che prezzo alto non sempre si traduca in qualità alta. Proprio per questo motivo, ho deciso di provare alcuni trucchi "low-cost" e vorrei condividere con voi il mio parere su ciascuno di loro. 

Il primo prodotto di cui voglio parlarvi è il correttore CancellaEtà di Maybelline ( € 8,95). Questo correttore ottiene sempre recensioni molto positive dalle beauty bloggers, per cui le mie aspettative erano abbastanza alte. Sebbene trovi che sia un buon prodotto, non mi ha lasciato particolarmente impressionata. Il problema principale credo stia nel fatto che in Italia è disponibile in solo due tonalità e la più chiara è comunque leggermente scura per me. La coprenza non è delle più alte, ma per me va benissimo, e mi piace il fatto che non si infili nelle righe d'espressione. Tuttavia, per le occhiaie preferisco correttori con un effetto leggermente più illuminante.

Un altro prodotto di Maybelline che ho voluto provare per via delle recensioni positive che ha ottenuto sul web, è il mascara The Rocket Volume Express (€ 9,90). Mi conoscete, adoro i mascara volumizzanti ed il mio preferito resta il Dior Extase, che però è abbastanza costoso. Speravo, pertanto, di trovare in questo prodotto di Maybelline un'alternativa più economica, ma mi sbagliavo. Mi piace il fatto che separi le ciglia e non risulti grumoso, ma, in termini di volume, non fa assolutamente nulla. Inoltre, trovo che sia molto difficile da rimuovere, anche utilizzando struccanti per trucchi waterproof. Non penso proprio che lo riacquisterò in futuro.

Un'altra marca di trucchi che ho voluto testare è Rimmel e, in particolare, ho voluto provare per prima cosa la cipria Stay Matte (€ 7,50). Avendo una pelle mista con la zona T che tende a lucidarsi nell'arco della giornata, ho spesso bisogno di ricorrere ad un po' di cipria e la mia preferita è la Mineral Veil di Bare Minerals: non solo fa tutto ciò che mi aspetto da un ciarpa, ma ha anche il vantaggio di non contenere ingredienti particolarmente dannosi, il che è una cosa ottima per la mia pelle sensibile. La cipria di Rimmel, ovviamente, non vanta un INCI altrettanto pulito, per cui non è un prodotto che userei su base quotidiana, però devo dire che non è affatto male. Non appesantisce la pelle e le dona un bellissimo effetto levigato. Inoltre, mantiene il trucco opacizzato per molte ore e non altera il colore del fondotinta. Io possiedo la tonalità più chiara "001 transparent" ed è perfetta per la mia carnagione. Sono davvero colpita.

L'altro prodotto di Rimmel che ho acquistato è il Lasting Finish Colour Rush (€ 9,99) nella tonalità "700 not an illusion". E' un balsamo labbra colorato con una buonissima resa di color. In sostanza, abbina la caratteristica idratante dei balsami labbra con l'intensità e la durata di un rossetto. La tonalità che ho scelto è un marrone-pesca che può risultare molto naturale, ma può anche essere facilmente intensificato per un look più deciso. Il finish è abbastanza lucido, ma non contiene traccia di particelle iridescenti. Lo adoro.

Infine, ho deciso di provare il fondotinta L'Oreal Accord Parfait (€ 16,50). Ero un po' titubante all'inizio perché da adolescente ho utilizzato un fondotinta di L'Oreal che ha irritato molto la mia pelle e da allora non ho mai più voluto provare un fondotinta a basso costo. Questo di L'Oreal, però, pare essere molto apprezzato, per cui ho voluto dargli una possibilità. Pur non avendolo usato con continuità, posso dire che l'impressione generale che ho avuto è molto buona. Si tratta di un fondotinta con una coprenza media e un finish molto naturale. Non appesantisce la pelle e dura abbastanza a lungo senza lucidarsi. La tonalità che ho acquistato è "N2 - Vanille" che, pur adattandosi abbastanza bene alla mia carnagione, tende leggermente al beige, mentre, di solito, preferisco un sottotono più giallo. Nel complesso, sebbene non lo utilizzerei su base quotidiana poiché ho ancora paura che possa causare qualche irritazione alla mia pelle, trovo che sia un buon prodotto da usare di tanto in tanto.

In the last few weeks I've been testing some new products I've bought and I want to show you in this post the ones I like and the one that I don't like.

I want to start with a product that I honestly have never thought I could like. It's the L'Oreal Lumi Magique pure light primer (€ 14,90). First of all I have to say that I'm not a primer girl, I own a couple of them but I almost never use them because I don't see a huge improvement in the way my make up lasts or looks. Secondly, even when I decide to use a primer, I usually choose a mattifying one, because of my combination-oily skin. This L'Oreal one, instead, is an illuminating primer, that gives my complexion a touch of light, without being overly glowing. When my skin is more on the normal side, I apply a small amount of it all over my face; when my T-zone tends to get a bit oilier, I apply it only on my cheeks. I must admit I'm very impressed, every time I use it my make up looks a lot more fresh and natural, radiant but not oily. 

The other tree products I want to show you are all from Kiko. The first is the Color-Up Long Lasting Eyeshadow (€ 3,90) in the shade n. 8 "Sinuous Shell". It's a jumbo eyeshadow pencil that has a very good lasting power and is super quick and easy to apply. The shade is a gorgeous light, almost white, pink with pearly reflections. I like to use it in the inner corners of my eyes to add a touch of light, as well as on the center of my eyelids. Sometimes, I even use it on my cheekbones as an highlighter and the result is beautiful.  

Another winner from Kiko is the Precision lip pencil in the shade n. 309 (€ 4,20), a beautiful crimson red shade. It is very long lasting but it doesn't dry out my lips and it's also very easy to blend. It comes in a lot of differente shades and I think that for its price the quality is extremely good. 

The last Kiko product, instead, is a big "no, no!" to me. It's the Soft Focus Concealer (€ 7,50), which I have in the lightest shade, the n. 01. First of all, the shade is too dark for my skin, even if it's the lightest available. Second, it's supposed to be an enlightener concealer, but I find to be quite matte. Third, it's very drying, it comes out in a light liquid consistency that quickly drys out, emphasizing any fine lines under your eyes. It really looks horrible. Lastly, the packaging is terrible: it's a pen concealer with a button at the end of the tube that you must click in oder to let the product coming out. The fact is that it takes forever before the concealer starts to be dispensed and when finally it comes out, it is way too much and gets very messy. Awful product!

Durante le ultime settimane ho avuto modo di testare alcuni prodotti recentemente acquistati e voglio mostrarvi quali mi sono piaciuti e quali (uno solo, fortunatamente!) no.

Voglio iniziare con un prodotto che non avrei mai pensato di apprezzare. Sto parlando del L'Oreal Lumi Magique pure light primer (€ 14,90). Dico che non credevo mi sarebbe piaciuto in primo luogo perché non sono un tipo da primer. Ne possiedo un paio ma li uso raramente, in quanto non noto grosse differenze nell'aspetto e nella tenuta del trucco quando li uso. In secondo luogo, anche quanto decido di applicare un primer, mi oriento sempre verso uno opacizzante, per via della mia pelle mista che tende a lucidarsi nella zona T. Questo di L'Oreal è invece un primer illuminante che dona alla pelle un tocco di luce senza, tuttavia, risultare eccessivamente luminoso. Quando la mie pelle è normale o secca lo applico su tutto il viso, quando invece tende a essere un po' più grassa nella zona T, lo applico solo sulle guance. Devo ammettere che sono davvero piacevolmente impressionata da questo prodotto, ogni volta che lo utilizzo il trucco appare molto più fresco e naturale, radioso ma senza il fastidioso effetto lucido che chi ha la pelle come la mia vuole evitare come le peste!

Gli altri tre prodotti di cui voglio parlarvi sono tutti di Kiko. Il primo è il Color-Up Long Lasting Eyeshadow (€ 3,90), un matitone ombretto semplice e veloce da applicare e con una tenuta impeccabile. Il colore che ho scelto è il n. 8 "Sinuous Shell", un meraviglioso rosa chiarissimo con riflessi perlati. Mi piace applicarlo nell'angolo interno dell'occhio per dare un tocco di luce e rendere lo sguardo più aperto, o al centro della palpebra. A volte lo uso anche sugli zigomi come illuminante e il risultato è stupendo. 

Un altro prodotto vincente di casa Kiko è la Precision Lip Pencil (€ 4,20) che io ho scelto nella tonalità n. 309, un bel rosso cremisi. E' una matita labbra dalla lunga durata che non secca le labbra e si sfuma con facilità. E' disponibile in una vasta gamma di colori e vi garantisco che vale davvero la pena provarla: il rapporto qualità prezzo è ottimo!

L'ultimo prodotto di Kiko è stato, invece, una grande delusione. Si tratta del Soft Focus Concealer (€ 7,50), un correttore in penna che io ho acquistato nella tonalità più chiara, la n. 01. Innanzitutto, questo colore, pur essendo il più chiaro, è comunque troppo scuro per la mia carnagione. In secondo luogo, benché venga presentato come un correttore illuminante, trovo che abbia un finish piuttosto opaco. Terzo, sebbene appena applicato abbia una consistenza leggera e liquida, dopo qualche secondo diventa incredibilmente secco, mettendo in risalto anche le più piccole rughe d'espressione. Vi garantisco che l'effetto è tremendo. Infine, altra nota dolente è il packaging: per erogare il prodotto è necessario cliccare il bottone all'estremità del tubetto, tuttavia ci vuole un'eternità prima che il prodotto cominci a fuoriuscire e, quando bene si decide a farlo, ne viene erogata una quantità davvero eccessiva, con un incredibile spreco di prodotto. Terribile!

In the last couple of months I've used up quite a few beauty products and I've been collecting them with the purpose of doing a little review of each one of them and telling you what I've liked and what I haven't liked.

First of all, I've finished both my John Frieda Sheer Blonde conditioner (€ 11,00) and Sheer Blonde shampoo (€ 11,00). If you follow my blog, you know I love this line, my hair feels so soft and clean every time I use them and my blonde has become more luminous and vibrant. I've already repurchased both of them!

Another product that has always been a favorite of mine and that I've already repurchased is the Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening toner (€ 20,00). It's an exfoliating toner that brightens, smooths and softens your skin. It does an amazing job in making dark spots less visible and in fighting blemishes and imperfections. It's supposed to be used a couple of nights a week, but, since it's so gentle, I've been using it 5-6 nights a week and my skin just loves it!

I've finally finished the Fotoprotector Isdin Ultra Fusion Fluid SPF 100+ (€ 26,10). This stuff has lasted me forever, it seemed like it was never going to end, which is a positive thing if you think of the price. It's a nice spf for combination skins because is very lightweight, however I won't by it again. I still prefer La Roche Posay's spf: they are less expensive and they protect not only against UVA but also against UVB (which the ISDIN spf doesn't). Moreover, there is no difference between spf 50 and every other higher spf factor, so I have gone back to my beloved LRP spf 50 +. 

A product that I've used up and I'm definitely going to buy again is the Lush "None of your beeswax" lip balm (€ 8,50). I love how it keeps my lips hydrated for long and I also like a lot the slightly shiny finish. Although I love the vanilla and lemon taste it has, I will probably try an other taste next time.

I've also used up my beloved Dior Rouge Dior Nude lipstick in the shade 459 Charnelle (€ 31,50), but, even though it's one of my favorite nude lipsticks, I'm not sure I'm going to buy it again any time soon. I love the fact that it's not drying on the lips and the shade, a pinky nude with a slightly peachy undertone, suites perfectly my complexion. However, there are a couple of Mac nude lipsticks that I want to try before going back to this Dior one.

Another empty product I've already repurchased is the Avene Cicalfate Repair Cream (€ 10,00). I've talked about it in my October favorites post, check it out for my review.

When it comes to eye creams, I'm always on the search for the perfect one. This summer I bought the Caudalie Polyphenol Anti-Wrinkle eye and lip cream (€ 26,00) and I loved it. It was lightweight but moisturizing enough for my under eye area. However, now that the weather is colder, I need something a bit reacher, so I won't buy it again, until, maybe, next summer.

The Clinique Airbrush Concealer (€ 22,50) has been on my wish list for so long that it's hard for me to admit that, now that I've bought it and used it up, I won't buy it again. It's a nice highlighting concealer, it doesn't give a tons of coverage, but I'm fine with that. The fact is that I find it very similar to the L'Oreal Lumi Magique highlighting pen, which is a bit cheaper and easier to apply. 

Another product from Clinique, which, this time, I have already repurchased is the Anti-Blemish Solutions Clearing Gel (€ 18,50). It's a great ally when it comes to fight occasional blemishes, I use it overnight and the morning after the imperfection is almost gone. 

Last, but not least, another old favorite of mine that I'm definitely going to buy again. It's the Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum (€ 45,50). I usually use it during summer, because it's light weight and it can be used under your sun block in order to achieve a flawless complexion. It makes my skin bright and smooth and my complexion looks a lot healthier every time I use it.

Negli ultimi mesi ho finalmente finito alcuni prodotti di bellezza che ho avuto modo di utilizzare e li ho conservati con l'intento di proporvi una breve recensione di ciascuno di essi, spiegano cosa mi è piaciuto e cosa no.

Per prima cosa, ho finito sia il balsamo che lo shampoo della linea Sheer Blonde di John Frieda (€ 11,00). Se mi seguite, saprete sicuramente quanto io ami questi due prodotti, ogni volta che li uso i miei capelli risultano morbidissimi e puliti e il mio biondo appare più luminoso e vibrante. Li ho già riacquistati entrambi!

Un altro prodotto che rappresenta un punto fermo nella mia routine di bellezza e che ho già riacquistato è il Tonico Esfoliante Delicato di Clarins (€ 20,00). Si tratta di una lozione esfoliante che illumina e leviga la pelle, lasciandola estremamente morbida e vellutata. Inoltre, la sua azione esfoliante aiuta a ridurre macchie ed imperfezioni. Dovrebbe essere utilizzato un paio di sere la settimana, ma, poiché risulta estremamente delicato, io lo utilizzo 5-6 sere la settimana. La mia pelle lo adora!

Ho poi finalmente finito la protezione solare Fotoprotector Isdin Ultra Fusion Fluid SPF 100+ (€ 26,10). Questa crema mi è durata un'eternità, sembrava non avere mai fine (il che non è poi così male se si pensa al prezzo)! E' una buona protezione solare per le pelli miste, poiché risulta estremamente leggera sulla pelle, tuttavia non ho intenzione di riacquistarla. Continuo, infatti, a preferire le protezioni solari di La Roche Posay: non solo sono meno costose, ma proteggono sia contro gli UVA che contro gli UVB (cosa che la ISDIN non fa). Inoltre è dimostrato che non esiste protezione solare più alta da quella fornita dal fattore 50, motivo per cui sono tornata alla mia adorata LRP spf 50+. 

Un prodotto che ho finito e che sicuramente ricomprerò è il balsamo labbra di Lush "Usami" (€ 8,50). Lascia le mie labbra idratate a lungo e dona loro un leggero finish luminoso che mi piace molto. Pur avendo amato il gusto vaniglia e limone di questo balsamo, probabilmente la prossima volta ne proverò uno con un gusto differente. 

Il mio rossetto color nudo preferito è il Dior Rouge Nude nella tonalità n. 459 "Charnelle" (€ 31,50), tuttavia, ora che è terminato non sono certa che lo riacquisterò a breve. Adoro il fatto che non secchi le labbra e la sua tonalità rosa naturale con un leggero sottotono pesca è perfetta per la mia carnagione. Prima di ricomprarlo, però, ci sono una paio di rossetti color nudo di Mac che vorrei provare.

Un altro prodotto finito che ho già riacquistato è la crema riparatrice Cicalfate di Avene (€ 10,00). Ne ho parlato approfonditamente nel mio post sui preferiti di Ottobre, dategli un'occhiata per una review dettagliata.

Quando si tratta di creme contorno occhi, sono sempre alla ricerca di quella perfetta. Quest'estate ho acquistato la Caudalie Polyphenol Anti-Wrinkle eye and lip cream (€ 26,00), e mi sono trovata molto bene. E' leggera sulla pelle ma sufficientemente idratante per il mio contorno occhi. Tuttavia, ora che il clima si fa più rigido, ho bisogno di una crema più ricca, motivo per cui non la riacquisterò fino, forse, alla prossima estate.

Il correttore in penna Airbrush di Clinique (€ 22,50) è stato nella mia wish list così a lungo che, ora che l'ho acquistato e terminato, faccio un po' fatica ad ammettere che molto probabilmente non lo ricomprerò più. E' un buon correttore illuminante, non è molto coprente, ma la cosa mi sta bene. Il fatto è che lo trovo molto simile al Lumi Magique di L'Oreal, che preferisco a quello di Clinique perché meno costoso e più facile da applicare.

Un altro prodotto di Clinique che, invece, ho riacquistato è l'Anti-Blemish Solutions Clearing Gel (€ 18,50), un formidabile alleato nella lotta contro occasionali eruzioni cutanee. Lo applico la notte e la mattina seguente l'imperfezione è già quasi scomparsa. 

Per finire, un altro dei miei preferiti di sempre, che sicuramente riacquisterò. Sto parlando del siero illuminante anti macchie di Caudalie (€ 45,50). Normalmente lo uso d'estate perché è molto leggero e può essere usato sotto la protezione solare per ottenere un'abbronzatura più uniforme. Rende la mia pelle molto morbida e luminosa e ogni volta che lo utilizzo noto come il mio incarnato appaia decisamente più sano e radioso.

Face of the week

Being a beauty and make up addict, I almost never wear the same make up products one day after the other, because I always like to try new products and different combinations. However, this week, every time I've worn make up, I've been loyal to the same look.

For my base, the only one that I've reached for has been the Bare Minerals Matte foundation (€ 28,90). I like it because it's so lightweight that it doesn't feel like I'm wearing foundation at all. The coverage is light, but I'm fine with that, I can always add some concealer if I need to. Moreover, when I set it with a powder, it lasts all day. My shade is Light W15.

Speaking of concealer, the one that I've been using this week is my Nars Radiant Creamy concealer (€ 27,50), which, even if it's not my favorite concealer in the world for the under eye area, has the merit of having a very good coverage and lasting power. Moreover, is very quick and easy to apply, I blend it with my finger and the work is done.

For my blush, I've been using the Rockateur Blush by Benefit (€ 33,50) all Summer long. I've talked about it in my July favorites here and my opinion hasn't changed. I think it's a beautiful shade and I'm pretty sure it would suit any skin tone.

To set everything in place, I've been using the Primed & Poreless loose powder by Too Faced (€ 28,90). Even if I still love the Mineral Veil powder by Bare Minerals better, this powder does a quite good job in keeping my T-zone matte for a good amount of hours and leaves a very nice silky finish on my skin.

I've been keeping my eyes make up pretty basic. On the eyelids I've been using the Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow by Kiko (€ 6,90) in the shade 07, a beautiful golden champagne shade that instantly brightens the eyes. These stick eyeshadows by Kiko are brilliant, the color payoff is amazing and their lasting power is great.

Normally, I would use a brown mascara, especially for the day time, but, since I've been keeping my eye make up so simple, I have been reaching for Le Volume de Chanel (€ 30,00), in the black shade, in order to make my lashes stand out. I really like this mascara, it's volumizing but, at the same time, it gives a very polished look to my lashes.

Finally, on my lips I've been using the Maybelline Baby Lips (€ 4,15) lip balm in the shade "Cherry me", in order to keep them hydrated and, at the same time, add a bit of color. I have a few of the Baby Lips lip balms, but this one is my favorites by far. It gives a nice cherry color to the lips, but it's very sheer and natural. Lovely.

Essendo appassionata di make up e di prodotti di bellezza in genere, mi capita raramente di scegliere di indossare lo stesso make up per due giorni consecutivi, poiché amo continuamente provare nuovi prodotti e diversi abbinamenti. Tuttavia, nell'ultima settimana, tutte le volte che ho deciso di truccarmi, sono rimasta fedele allo stesso look.

Per quanto riguarda la base, l'unico fondotinta per il quale ho optato in questi giorni è stato il Bare Minerals Matte (€ 28,90), che possiedo nella tonalità Light W15. Questo prodotto mi pace perché è talmente leggero sulla pelle che pare di non indossare nulla. Certo, la coprenza non è alta, ma la cosa non rappresenta un problema per me: se ne sento la necessità, posso sempre ricorrere ad un po' di correttore. Inoltre, se fissato con una buona cipria, dura tutto il giorno senza lucidarsi.

A proposito di correttore, quello che sto utilizzando ogni giorno è il correttore Eclat di Nars (€ 28,90), il quale, sebbene non sia il mio preferito per l'area sotto gli occhi, ha l'innegabile pregio di avere una buonissima coprenza ed un'ottima tenuta. Inoltre, la sua applicazione è semplice e veloce: lo sfumo con le dita ed il gioco è fatto.

Per quanto riguarda il blush, ho utilizzato il Rockateur di Benefit (€ 33,50) praticamente per tutta l'estate. Ne avevo già parlato nel post relativo ai preferiti del mese di Luglio, che trovate qui, e la mia opinione non è cambiata di una virgola. Trovo che sia una tonalità meravigliosa e sono convita che si addica a qualunque tipo di carnagione.

Per fissare il tutto, sto utilizzando la cipria in polvere libera Primed & Poreless di Too Faced (€ 28,90). Pur preferendole la Minerla Vail di Bare Minerals, questa cipria riesce comunque abbastanza bene nell'intento di mantenere la mia zona T opaca per un buon numero di ore e dona alla pelle un bellissimo finish setoso. 

Ho deciso di mantenere il trucco sugli occhi molto basico. Sulle palpebre mi sono limitata ad applicare il Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow di Kiko (€ 6,90) nella tonalità 07, un bellissimo color champagne dorato che illumina istantaneamente gli occhi. Questi ombretti in stick di Kiko sono davvero ottimi, hanno un resa di colore eccellente e durano tutto il giorno anche senza primer.

Normalmente opterei per un mascara marrone, soprattutto per il giorno, ma, poiché ho mantenuto il trucco sugli occhi così minimal, sto preferendo ricorrere a Le Volume de Chanel (€ 30,00) nel colore nero, così da far risaltare al massimo le ciglia. Questo mascara mi piace moltissimo, è volumizzante ma, la tempo stesso, conferisco un aspetto ordinato e definito alle mie ciglia.

Per finire, sulle labbra sto utilizzando il balsamo Baby Lips di Maybelline (€ 4,90) nella tonalità "Cherry Me", così da mantenerle idratate e, allo stesso tempo, aggiungere un tocco di colore. Possiedo alcuni di questi balsami labbra di Maybelline, ma questo è di gran lunga il mio preferito. Ravviva la tonalità delle labbra con una punta di color ciliegia, mantenendo l'effetto complessivo molto naturale.

May favorites

Another month has passed by and it's time again for my monthly beauty favorites. 

I've changed a lot of things in my beauty routine during the last month, so it was hard for me choosing the products that I've been loving the most, but eventually I managed to pick out some winners.

Let's start with the base. Yes, I know, I didn't need another foundation, but when I came across the Armani counter and I sow that the shade 02 Ivory of their Luminous Silk foundation (€ 44,95) was available, I couldn't help myself. I've been having this foundation on my wish list for ages, but I was never able to find the right shade since the lighter one was always out of stock. So you can understand why I had to buy it!

I've been wearing it almost every day and I'm completely sold. It's one of the most beautiful foundation I've ever used. Now I get why they use it on the set of Downton Abbey: it really creates the illusion of a flawless complexion, without looking cakey or being heavy on the skin. The coverage is medium, but it's very buildable. The finish is luminous in a very natural way. I don't find it to be too glowing or dewy, like someone says. I think it has the finish of the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua, maybe a little less luminous, and the coverage and lasting power of the Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet. It's not super long-lasting on my combination skin, but if I set it with a good powder it lasts all day without any problem. It's amazing...and I feel a little bit like Lady Mary when I wear it!

Lisa Eldridge did it again! Yes, I bought the Clinique Airbrush Concealer (€ 21,50) because of her, again. This is the concealer she always uses under the eyes and she prefers it over the YSL touché éclat. I run out of my L'Oreal Lumi Magique concealer, so I decided to try this one. I have to say that they are very similar, so, if you don't want to spend a lot of money, the L'Oreal one is a great option. Anyway, I think the Clinique one is a little more long lasting and has a little more coverage. That being said, none of them has high coverage, so they might not be the best choices if you need to cover dark circles. They just highlight the under eyes area, giving a nice fresh and healthy look and instantly erasing any signs of fatigue. For me, anyway, they work perfectly.  

Sun protection is an important step in my everyday beauty routine, I always wear it if I'm going out. I've been using La Roche Posay spf for a long time, and I've always been very happy with it, but recently my aunt suggested my to try the Fotoprotector ISDIN ULTRA Fusion Fluid (€ 25,71), with spf 100+. It's more expensive then the LRP one, but it has spf 100+, so I decided to buy it anyway. I'm very impressed, it's super light weight, even if it has hight spf, it doesn't feel greasy at all and it absorbs nicely into the skin, without leaving any white cast. The only down side, for me, is that it protects only against UVA. Because my skin is very fair and a bit sensitive, if I'm going to expose myself at the sun, I'm going to need UVB protection as well, so this is not the kind of spf I would use if I'm going to the beach. Anyway, for the city it is a wonderful sun block.

I've finally run out of my YSL Baby Doll mascara. I've been liking it, but I didn't love it, so I decided to play safe and buy something I knew I was going to love: Le Volume de Chanel (€ 30,00). I've never bought this mascara before, but I had a couple of samples that lasted me ages, so I was able to test it properly and the verdict was extremely positive. Now that I've finally bought it, I'm asking myself why I've been waiting so long: I love it. It gives my lashes great volume and definition and it's very easy to use. Sometimes volumizing mascaras are a bit messy and they can give your lashes a clumpy and spidery look. This is not the case with this product, which is the reason why I love it so much: great volume with no effort.

My last favorite for the month of May is the Dior Addict Extreme lipstick (€ 30,90) in the shade Riviera. This has always been one of my all time favorite lipsticks, but, for some reason, I reach for it the most during the spring/summer season. It's a sheer lipstick with a glossy finish that feels creamy and moisturizing on the lips. It has a beautiful coral shade that adapts nicely to the natural lips color, so that it doesn't result too orange. It's not super pigmented, but it can be build a little. Because of its sheer formula, it's very easy to apply and to retouch during the day. I've been wearing it almost every day this month and I can't get tired of it!

Un altro mese giunge al termine ed è di nuovo il momento di parlarvi dei prodotti che ho amato di più negli ultimi 30 giorni.

Nel corso di Maggio ho apportato molti cambiamenti nella mia beauty routine, motivo per cui scegliere una cerchia ristretta di prodotti che ho amato di più non è stato semplice. Alla fine, tuttavia, ho selezionato alcuni vincitori.

Iniziamo con la base. Sì, lo so, non avevo di certo necessità di acquistare un nuovo fondotinta, ma quando, passando vicino al counter di Armani, ho buttato l'occhio ed ho notato che era disponibile la tonalità 02 Ivory del Luminous Silk (€ 44,95), non sono stata in grado di trattenermi. A mia discolpa posso dire di aver avuto questo fondotinta nella mia wish list per anni, ma non sono mai stata in grado di trovare la giusta tonalità, poiché la più chiara era sempre esaurita. Quindi, capirete di certo perché non potevo lasciarmi scappare quest'occasione!

Da quando ne sono entrata in possesso l'ho indossato quasi ogni giorno e mi ha completamente conquistata, credo che sia uno dei fondotinta migliori che abbia mai avuto. Non faccio fatica a capire perché sia il fondotinta utilizzato sul set di Downton Abbey: è in grado di creare l'illusione di una pelle perfetta e sana, senza risultare finto o pesante. La coerenza è media, ma facilmente modulabile, e il finish è luminoso rimanendo, tuttavia, naturale. Non trovo, infatti, che sia estremamente luminoso, come molti, invece, sostengono. Credo che sia una via di mezzo tra il Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua ed il Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet, con il finish del primo, forse un po' meno brillante, e la tenuta e la coprenza del secondo. Non ha una durata eccelsa sulla mia pelle mista, ma, se fissato con una buona cipria, dura tranquillamente tutto il giorno. Lo adoro...e mi sento un po' Lady Mary quando lo indosso!

Lisa Eldridge l'ha fatto di nuovo! Ebbene sì, ho comprato il correttore in penna di Clinique (€ 21,50) per causa sua, ancora. Questo è, infatti, il correttore che di solito ama usare sotto gli occhi, preferendolo anche al Touché Eclat di YSL. Avendo finito il mio L'Oreal Lumi Magique, ho deciso, quindi, di orientarmi su quest'altro. Devo dire che i due sono abbastanza simili, per cui, se volete risparmiare, il correttore L'Oreal è una validissima alternativa. Tuttavia, trovo che la penna di Clinique abbia una maggiore durata ed una coprenza leggermente più alta. Detto questo, nessuno dei due ha una coprenza sufficiente per nascondere occhiaie o segni scuri, ma fanno un ottimo lavoro nell'illuminare lo sguardo ed eliminare in un istante ogni segno di stanchezza. Per me sono perfetti.

La protezione solare è uno step molto importante nella mie beauty routine quotidiana, non esco mai di casa senza averla applicata su viso e collo. Da molto tempo utilizzo le creme solari La Roche Posay e mi sono sempre trovata benissimo, tuttavia, recentemente, mia zia mi ha consigliato di provare la crema Fotoprotector ISDIN ULTRA Fusion Fluid (€ 25,71), con spf 100+. E' un po' più costosa delle creme LRP, tuttavia il fattore protettivo così alto mi ha spinta ad acquistala ugualmente. Sono rimasta davvero colpita da questa crema: ha la consistenza di un fluido, pertanto risulta leggerissima sulla pelle, nonostante l'elevato fattore protettivo, e si assorbe molto velocemente, senza lasciare alcun alone bianco, come fanno, invece, molte creme con spf. L'unica nota negativa, per quanto mi riguarda, risiede nel fatto che questo prodotto offre protezione solo contro gli UVA: poiché la mia pelle è molto chiara ed abbastanza sensibile, quando mi espongo al sole necessito di proteggermi anche contro gli UVB, motivo per cui questo non è il genere di prodotto su cui farei affidamento per andare in spiaggia o, in generale, per prendere il sole. Tuttavia, è una buonissima protezione solare per la vita in città.

Finalmente il mio YSL Baby Doll mascara è terminato. Mi è piaciuto, ma non l'ho amato, motivo per cui ho deciso di andare sul sicuro ed acquistare un mascara che sapevo avrei adorato: Le Volume de Chanel (€ 30,00). Non avevo mai comprato questo prodotto prima, ma ho avuto una paio di camioncini che mi sono durati moltissimo, consentendomi, così, di testarlo accuratamente, con  un risultato molto positivo. Ora che l'ho finalmente acquistato, mi chiedo perché abbia aspettato così tanto: lo adoro. Dona alle ciglia volume e definizione ed è semplice e veloce da applicare. Spesso i mascara volumizzanti risultano difficili da usare e lasciano le ciglia appiccicate e poco definite. Non è il caso di questo prodotto, che regala un intenso volume lasciano le ciglia ordinate e definite.

L'ultimo prodotto preferito del mese di Maggio è il rossetto Dior Addict Extreme (€ 30,90) nella tonalità Riviera. In realtà è sempre stato uno dei miei rossetti preferiti, ma, per qualche ragione, tendo ad sceglierlo maggiormente durante la primavera/estate. Ha una formulazione molto leggera dal finish luminoso e mantiene le labbra cremose ed idratate. Riviera è una bellissima tonalità di corallo che tende ad adattarsi al tono naturale delle labbra, senza, quindi, virare troppo all'arancio. Non ha un pigmentazione fortissima, ma si più facilmente lavorare per intensificarne il colore. Grazie a questa sua consistenza leggera e cremosa risulta semplicissimo da applicare e facile da ritoccare nel corso della giornata. Ultimamente lo sto indossando quasi ogni giorni e non mi stanca mai.

All the products I’m going to talk about in this post are products that I’ve been using almost everyday in the last weeks.

I’ve already told you how much I’m in love with the L’Oreal Lumi Magique (€ 14,50) highlighting pen here and here, I think I can now say that it’s my favorite under eye highlighter/concealer. It’s very lightweight but it’s perfect to cover dark circles under the eyes, my mom bought it as well and she loves it too.

I’ve always been a fan of the Maybelline Color Tattoos (€ 10,90) creamy eyeshadows, I’ve already own one of them, but I think the Dare to Go Nude collection that they have recently released is amazing. I like all the shades of this collection, but the one that I’ve eventually chosen is the Bronze one. It’s a beautiful shade, perfect for spring time. I use it when I want a quick and easy look (almost everyday!), I use my finger to apply it on my eyelid in order to achieve a natural look with just a touch of color and light.

Speaking about Maybelline, I decided to buy their Brow Drama gel (€ 9,90) after I’ve read somewhere (I don’t remember where) that it’s a cheaper version of the Benefit Gimme Brow gel. The Benefit Brow gel has been on my wish list for a while, but I’ve been reading discordant reviews about it, I’m not sure it’s worth the money. The Maybelline one, instead, it’s a lot cheaper, so I decided to give it a go. I bought the Medium Brown shade, which matches perfectly my brow’s natural shade. I love this gel, it keeps my brows in place all day and it adds a touch of color, making them look a bit fuller and more defined. It’s something that you can barely noticed and this is what I like the most: I want my brows to look natural, even if I like bold brows, I don’t want mine to look different from what they really are.

In this period I’m really into creamy eyeshadows, maybe because they’re very easy and quick to use and usually, in the morning, I don’t have a lot of time to spend after my make up. The creamy eyeshadow that I’ve been interchanging with my Maybelline one is form Pupa, form their Vamp collection, and it’s the shade 401 Iced Coffee (€ 11,70). It’s a beautiful brown shade, cooler that the Maybelline one and a little bit darker. Sometimes I use them both, the Maybelline one as a base and then I add the Pupa one in order to give more definition to my eyes.

Another product from Pupa that I’m enjoying a lot is the Vamp mascara (€ 12,00), in the Chocolate brown shade. I’m blonde e very pale, so, sometimes, a black mascara can be too much. The brown shade, instead, it’s perfect for an easy everyday look and the Pupa one is also very volumizing, which is something I always appreciate in a mascara!

This product is my little treasure, I can’t tell you how much I love it. I’m talking about the Lush Tea Tree Water (€ 10,95). I use it as a toner every morning and, in the evening, I alternate it with another favorite of mine, the Clarins Gentle Exfoliating toner (I’ve talked about it here). It works wonder when I have some spots on my face, thanks to the tea tree’s antiseptic properties, and it also mattify my skin, which is great for my combination skin. I spry directly on my face and it’s super refreshing.

Tutti i prodotti di cui vi parlerò in questo post sono prodotti che sto utilizzato con costanza da qualche settimana e dei quali sono estremamente soddisfatta.

Vi ho già detto quanto mi piaccia il correttore illuminante in penna L’Oreal Lumi Magique (€ 14,50) qui e qui e, dopo averlo utilizzato tutti i giorni per un po’ di tempo, mi sento di poter affermare che sia il miglior correttore illuminante per il contorno occhi che abbia mai provato. E’ molto leggero, non si insinua nelle rughe d’espressione sotto gli occhi ed è perfetto per illuminare lo sguardo e nascondere le occhiaie. Mia mamma l’ha comprato dietro mio suggerimento e lo adora anche lei.

Ho sempre apprezzato la qualità degli ombretti in crema Color Tattoo di Maybelline (€ 10,90) , ne possiedo già uno e mi piace molto, ma trovo che la collezione Dare to Go Nude appena rilasciata sia bellissima. I colori di questa collezione sono, a mio parere, stupendi, avrei voluto acquistarli tutti, ma alla fine ho optato per il colore Bronze. E’ una bellissima tonalità di bronzo con dei leggeri riflessi dorati, molto naturale ma allo stesso tempo luminosa; lo uso spesso quando voglio un look facile e veloce (praticamente tutti i giorni!), applicandolo sulla palpebra inferiore con le dita, per avere un tocco di colore senza risultare troppo costruita.

A proposito di prodotti Maybelline, ho deciso di acquistare il loro Brow Drama gel (€ 9,90) dopo aver letto (non ricordo dove) che questo gel per sopracciglia può essere paragonato al Gimme Brow di Benefit. Quest’ultimo è nella mia wish list da un po’ ormai, ma, dopo aver letto pareri molto discordanti a riguardo, ho iniziato a pensare che non valesse la pena acquistarlo, visto anche il prezzo non proprio economico. Il gel di Maybelline, al contrario, ha un prezzo decisamente abbordabile, motivo per cui ho deciso di dargli una chance. Ho scelto la tonalità Medium Brown, che si adatta perfettamente al colore naturale delle mie sopracciglia, e devo ammettere che sono molto soddisfatta. Tiene le sopracciglia in ordine tutto il giorno e aggiunge un tocco di colore, facendole, così, apparire leggermente più folte e definite. In realtà l’effetto è davvero molto leggero, è qualcosa che si nota appena, ma è proprio per questo che mi piace molto: per quanto mi piacciano le sopracciglia folte in stile Cara Delevigne, voglio comunque che le mie mantengano un aspetto naturale!

In questo periodo sembra che io mi sia fissata con gli ombretti in crema, probabilmente perché sono molto veloci e semplici da applicare e, normalmente, la mattina non ho molto tempo da dedicare al mio make up! Quello che ultimamente sto utilizzando, alternandolo con il Color Tattoo di Maybelline, è della collezione Vamp di Pupa nel colore 401 Iced Coffee (€ 11,70). E’ un bellissimo ombretto sui toni del marrone, più scuro e più freddo di quello di Maybelline, ma anch’esso molto luminoso. A volte li uso entrambi, il Color Tattoo come base e quello di Pupa per dare maggior definizione.

Un altro prodotto di Pupa che sto apprezzando molto è il mascara della collezione Vamp (€ 12,00), che ho scelto nella tonalità Chocolate Brown. Essendo bionda e molto chiara di carnagione, a volte il mascara nero può risultare un po’ eccessivo, soprattutto se utilizzato su base giornaliera. Il marrone, invece, è perfetto, definisce molto bene le mie ciglia, ma dona loro un look meno drammatico. Inoltre, è abbastanza volumizzante, cosa che apprezzo sempre in un mascara!

L’ultimo prodotto di cui vi voglio parlare è uno dei miei preferiti di sempre, non potrei davvero farne a meno. Sto parlando del tonico Acqua di Luna di Lush (€ 10,95). Lo utilizzo ogni mattina dopo la detersione e lo alterno la sera con un altro dei miei preferiti, il tonico esfoliante di Clarins (del quale ho parlato qui). Grazie alle proprietà antibatteriche del tea tree che contiene, è molto efficace nei periodi in cui ho qualche eruzione cutanea; inoltre rinfresca e opacizza la pelle, qualità perfetta per chi, come me, ha una pelle mista che tende a lucidarsi nella zona T.
