3 tops and 1 flop

In the last few weeks I've been testing some new products I've bought and I want to show you in this post the ones I like and the one that I don't like.

I want to start with a product that I honestly have never thought I could like. It's the L'Oreal Lumi Magique pure light primer (€ 14,90). First of all I have to say that I'm not a primer girl, I own a couple of them but I almost never use them because I don't see a huge improvement in the way my make up lasts or looks. Secondly, even when I decide to use a primer, I usually choose a mattifying one, because of my combination-oily skin. This L'Oreal one, instead, is an illuminating primer, that gives my complexion a touch of light, without being overly glowing. When my skin is more on the normal side, I apply a small amount of it all over my face; when my T-zone tends to get a bit oilier, I apply it only on my cheeks. I must admit I'm very impressed, every time I use it my make up looks a lot more fresh and natural, radiant but not oily. 

The other tree products I want to show you are all from Kiko. The first is the Color-Up Long Lasting Eyeshadow (€ 3,90) in the shade n. 8 "Sinuous Shell". It's a jumbo eyeshadow pencil that has a very good lasting power and is super quick and easy to apply. The shade is a gorgeous light, almost white, pink with pearly reflections. I like to use it in the inner corners of my eyes to add a touch of light, as well as on the center of my eyelids. Sometimes, I even use it on my cheekbones as an highlighter and the result is beautiful.  

Another winner from Kiko is the Precision lip pencil in the shade n. 309 (€ 4,20), a beautiful crimson red shade. It is very long lasting but it doesn't dry out my lips and it's also very easy to blend. It comes in a lot of differente shades and I think that for its price the quality is extremely good. 

The last Kiko product, instead, is a big "no, no!" to me. It's the Soft Focus Concealer (€ 7,50), which I have in the lightest shade, the n. 01. First of all, the shade is too dark for my skin, even if it's the lightest available. Second, it's supposed to be an enlightener concealer, but I find to be quite matte. Third, it's very drying, it comes out in a light liquid consistency that quickly drys out, emphasizing any fine lines under your eyes. It really looks horrible. Lastly, the packaging is terrible: it's a pen concealer with a button at the end of the tube that you must click in oder to let the product coming out. The fact is that it takes forever before the concealer starts to be dispensed and when finally it comes out, it is way too much and gets very messy. Awful product!

Durante le ultime settimane ho avuto modo di testare alcuni prodotti recentemente acquistati e voglio mostrarvi quali mi sono piaciuti e quali (uno solo, fortunatamente!) no.

Voglio iniziare con un prodotto che non avrei mai pensato di apprezzare. Sto parlando del L'Oreal Lumi Magique pure light primer (€ 14,90). Dico che non credevo mi sarebbe piaciuto in primo luogo perché non sono un tipo da primer. Ne possiedo un paio ma li uso raramente, in quanto non noto grosse differenze nell'aspetto e nella tenuta del trucco quando li uso. In secondo luogo, anche quanto decido di applicare un primer, mi oriento sempre verso uno opacizzante, per via della mia pelle mista che tende a lucidarsi nella zona T. Questo di L'Oreal è invece un primer illuminante che dona alla pelle un tocco di luce senza, tuttavia, risultare eccessivamente luminoso. Quando la mie pelle è normale o secca lo applico su tutto il viso, quando invece tende a essere un po' più grassa nella zona T, lo applico solo sulle guance. Devo ammettere che sono davvero piacevolmente impressionata da questo prodotto, ogni volta che lo utilizzo il trucco appare molto più fresco e naturale, radioso ma senza il fastidioso effetto lucido che chi ha la pelle come la mia vuole evitare come le peste!

Gli altri tre prodotti di cui voglio parlarvi sono tutti di Kiko. Il primo è il Color-Up Long Lasting Eyeshadow (€ 3,90), un matitone ombretto semplice e veloce da applicare e con una tenuta impeccabile. Il colore che ho scelto è il n. 8 "Sinuous Shell", un meraviglioso rosa chiarissimo con riflessi perlati. Mi piace applicarlo nell'angolo interno dell'occhio per dare un tocco di luce e rendere lo sguardo più aperto, o al centro della palpebra. A volte lo uso anche sugli zigomi come illuminante e il risultato è stupendo. 

Un altro prodotto vincente di casa Kiko è la Precision Lip Pencil (€ 4,20) che io ho scelto nella tonalità n. 309, un bel rosso cremisi. E' una matita labbra dalla lunga durata che non secca le labbra e si sfuma con facilità. E' disponibile in una vasta gamma di colori e vi garantisco che vale davvero la pena provarla: il rapporto qualità prezzo è ottimo!

L'ultimo prodotto di Kiko è stato, invece, una grande delusione. Si tratta del Soft Focus Concealer (€ 7,50), un correttore in penna che io ho acquistato nella tonalità più chiara, la n. 01. Innanzitutto, questo colore, pur essendo il più chiaro, è comunque troppo scuro per la mia carnagione. In secondo luogo, benché venga presentato come un correttore illuminante, trovo che abbia un finish piuttosto opaco. Terzo, sebbene appena applicato abbia una consistenza leggera e liquida, dopo qualche secondo diventa incredibilmente secco, mettendo in risalto anche le più piccole rughe d'espressione. Vi garantisco che l'effetto è tremendo. Infine, altra nota dolente è il packaging: per erogare il prodotto è necessario cliccare il bottone all'estremità del tubetto, tuttavia ci vuole un'eternità prima che il prodotto cominci a fuoriuscire e, quando bene si decide a farlo, ne viene erogata una quantità davvero eccessiva, con un incredibile spreco di prodotto. Terribile!

Back to Mac

When I first started to get passionate about make up, I discovered Mac and I felt in love with its products. For a time everything I bought was from this brand, but then I started to get more interested in trying different products form different brands and I just forgot about Mac. For some reasons, recently I've been relying on Mac again and I'm back in love.

Mac Pro Longwear foundation (€ 33,50) has been the only foundation I'd been using for a couple of years...which is pretty impressive for a foundation junkie like myself! But, honestly, it has everything I want from a foundation: extremely long lasting, even on my combination skin, great color selection, natural finish, lightweight and medium coverage. Since I've bought it again I've been asking myself why the heck I'd stopped using it!

Last year I bough a powdery blush from Mac in the shade Melba (€ 23,00). I think I used it a couple of times and then I decided that it looked awful on me and I've never used it again...until a couple of months ago, when I found it in my make up bag and I thought I should give it a second chance. And this time I loved it! It's a beautiful peachy shade that instantly warm up my complexion. I think that probably the first time I used it I was using the wrong brush...I don't remember which one it was, but now, with the Sephora brush n. 45 it applies beautifully!

In a couple of my previous posts (here and here) I told you how much I love Mac lipstick in the shade Brave (€ 19,00). I've been wearing it almost every day since I bought it, alternating it with another lipstick by Mac, in the shade Patisserie (€ 19,00). I think Patisserie is the perfect nude shade, it looks a lot similar to my natural lip color, it just adds a touch of peachy rosy shade that looks beautiful on every skin tone. Moreover, it's very creamy and moisturizing. 

The Mac fluidline in the shade Blacktrack (€ 18,50) has always been and it still is my trusty gel eyeliner. I've never stopped using it since I bought it because it's amazing and I don't feel the need to try something else. It lasts forever without drying out, it's super easy to apply and it's ultra black, like a liquid eyeliner. To me, it's a winner!

When it comes to eyeshadows, I'm a big fan of nude and neutral shades, and my all time favorites are two eyeshadows both from Mac. One is a recent discovery and it's the shade Era (€ 18,00), a gorgeous golden beige with a slightly luminous finish that is perfect for an everyday look or paired with bold lips, in order to add just a touch of color to the eyelids, without being too much. The other one is Copperplate (€ 18,00), a matte tope shade with a warm undertone, great to be used in the crease of the eyelid to add some definition. I find that it works beautifully when combined with a vanilla or a champaign shade, as well as with browns, silver and purples.

Quando ho iniziato ad appassionarmi di make up, ero una grande fan dei prodotti Mac. Per un certo periodo di tempo ho acquistato quasi esclusivamente prodotti di questo brand e ne ero molto soddisfatta; poi credo di aver sviluppato il desiderio sempre maggiore di provare nuovi prodotti e nuovi marchi, il che mi ha portato a lasciare Mac da parte per un po'. Ultimamente, tuttavia, ho ritrovato interesse per questo brand, che mia ha nuovamente conquistato.

Il fondotinta Mac Pro Longwear (e 33,50) è stato l'unico fondotinta che ho utilizzato per circa un paio d'anni...il che è abbastanza significativo per una maniaca dei fondotinta come la sottoscritta! Il fatto è che, in tutta onestà, ha tutte le caratteristiche che cerco in un fondotinta: lunghissima durata, anche su una pelle mista come la mia, ampia selezione di tonalità, finish naturale, leggero sulla pelle e media coprenza. Da quando l'ho riacquistato non ho fatto altro che chiedermi cosa caspiterina mia è passato per la mente quando ho deciso di smettere di usarlo!

L'anno scorso ho acquistato il blush in polvere di Mac nella tonalità Melba (€ 23,00). Credo di averlo utilizzato non più di un paio di volte, dopodiché ho deciso che stava malissimo sulla mia carnagione e non l'ho mai più ripreso in mano...fino ad un paio di mesi fa, quando, per puro caso, l'ho trovato sul fondo della mia borsa dei trucchi ed ho deciso che meritava una seconda chance. Questa volta mi è piaciuto moltissimo. Si tratta di un meraviglioso color pesca che scalda immediatamente l'incarnato. Credo che, la prima volta che l'ho provato, il problema fosse il pennello...ora non ricordo che pennello fosse, so solo che con il n. 45 di Sephora di applica benissimo!

In un paio dei miei post precedenti (qui e qui) mi sono lanciata in un'appassionata ode al rossetto di Mac nel colore Brave (€ 19,00). L'ho indossato quasi ogni giorno da quando l'ho acquistato, alternandolo con un altro rossetto di Mac, nel colore Patisserie (€ 19,00). A mio avviso, si tratta del color nudo perfetto, è molto simile al colore naturale delle mie labbra, aggiunge solo una nota pesco rosata che starebbe benissimo su qualsiasi carnagione. Inoltre, è molto cremoso ed idratante.

Il fluidline di Mac nel colore Blacktrack (€ 18,50) è sempre stato ed è tuttora il mio eye-liner in gel di fiducia. Non ho mai smesso di usarlo dalla prima volta che l'ho acquistato e non sento nemmeno la necessità di provarne qualcun altro. Dura tantissimo senza seccarsi, è facilissimo da applicare e il nero è intenso quanto quello di un eye-liner liquido. 

Quando si tratta di ombretti, tendo sempre ad orientarmi verso toni neutri e naturali, e i miei preferiti in assoluto sono due ombretti entrambi di Mac. Il primo è Era (€ 18,00), un meraviglioso beige dorato con un finish leggermente luminoso che risulta prefetto sia per un look semplice da tutti i giorni, sia abbinato a labbra rosse per dare un tocco di colore alle palpebre senza essere eccessivo. L'altro ombretto è Copperplate (€ 18,00), una color tortora opaco con sottotono caldo, perfetto da applicare della piega della palpebra per dare maggior definizione. Trovo che sia meraviglioso quando viene abbinato alle tonalità vaniglia e champagne, ma funziona benissimo anche combinato ai marroni, all'argento ed ai porpora.

November favorites

 

Here we are with another monthly favorites post. I’m so happy November has come to the end because this means that my favorite time of the year is coming: Christmas time! There’s something magic in this period that makes me feel like a little child. 

But let’s talk about some serious stuff: my favorite beauty products of the month!

The first product I want to talk about is by far my most loved of the month: it’s the Kiehl’s avocado eye cream (€ 25,00). I’d been having it on my wish list for a while when I finally was able to get a couple of samples and I suddenly felt in love with it, so I decided to buy the full size. It’s very thick and dense but it doesn’t feel greasy or oily at all. The skin under my eyes just drinks it and when I apply my concealer it blends beautifully and it doesn’t crease anymore! Amazing!

Another product by Kiehl’s that, instead, has taken me a while before I started loving it is the Kiehl’s Overnight Biological peel (€ 45,00). After I bought it I suddently regretted it: at that time my skin had just recovered from a bad time and I was pretty happy with the products that I was using. What scared me was the fact that introducing a new product that I’ve never tried before could have caused me some bad reactions. So I started using it once every two weeks, then once a week and now I have finally started using it twice a week, how you’re supposed to do, and everything is doing well. It’s a biological night time peel that helps the regeneration of the skin thanks to its gentle, yet effective, exfoliating power. I have to say tha every time I use it, the morning after my skin looks incredibly bright and glowing. I’ve also noticed that some of the red spots left by my last breakout are slowly fading away.

The last addition to my haircare routine is the Bumble & Bumble Hairdresser's Invisible Oil primer (€ 27,50), a thermo and UV protective base that also detangles and conditions the hair, making it soft and frizz-free. You basically get everything your hair needs all in one product, isn't it great? And it really works wonderfully  My hair has been incredibly soft since I've started using it and I don't fear humidity anymore more: this is my greatest anti-frizz ally! Not to mention the amazing smell it has!

The last two make up products that I've been using almost every day this month are both form Mac. The first one is a lipstick and it's call "Brave" (€ 19,00). I decided to buy it because I've read somewhere that it's the lipstick Kylie Jenner uses to wear and I love her voluminous dark nude lips. I'm not surprised that this product has become my new favorite everyday nude lipstick. It's a gorgeous mauve pink shade, with a satin finish, that looks like your lips but better. For some reason, when I wear it my lips, which are already quite plump on their own, looks bigger and more voluminous. 

The other Mac product is an eyeshadow called "Era" (€ 18,00), a beautiful soft golden beige that would look amazing on every skin tones. If you're a neutral eyeshadows lover like myself, you can't but falling in love with it. I think it's the perfect shade to use in your creases to add a bit of definition to the eyes. And, like almost all Mac's eyeshadows, it blends beautifully and the quality of the product is really great.

Eccoci di nuovo all’appuntamento mensile con i miei prodotti preferiti. Non potete immaginare quanto io sia felice che il mese di Novembre sia finalmente terminato, poiché questo significa che il mio periodo dell’anno preferito è alle porte. C’è qualcosa di magico nell’aria quando si avvicina il Natale che mi fa un po’ tornare bambina.

Ma parliamo di cose serie: i miei prodotti preferiti di Novembre!

Voglio iniziare con il prodotto che senza dubbio è stato la migliore scoperta del mese: la crema contorno occhi all’avocado di Kiehl’s (€ 25,00). Era da un po’ che desideravo provarla e, quando finalmente, sono riuscita ad ottenere un paio di campioncini me ne sono subito innamorata, tanto che sono corsa ad acquistare la full size. E’ una crema molto densa e corposa che, tuttavia, non risulta affatto grassa o pastosa. La mia pelle la adora, rimane così morbida e idratata che il correttore non mi da più alcun problema di applicazione e non entra più nelle pieghette sotto gli occhi! Adoro!!

Un altro prodotto Kiehl’s che, invece, ho impiegato un po’ ad apprezzare, è l’Overnight Biological Peel (€ 45,00). Non appena l’ho acquistato me ne sono pentita: in quel periodo, infatti, la mia pelle si era appena ripresa dopo una brutta eruzione cutanea ed ero molto soddisfatta dei prodotti che stavo utilizzando. L’idea di introdurne uno nuovo mai provato prima mi spaventava un po’, poiché non sapevo come la mie pelle avrebbe potuto reagire. Per questo motivo ho iniziato ad utilizzarlo dapprima una volta ogni due settimane, successivamente una volta ogni settimana, per poi giungere al suo corretto utilizzo, ossia due volte a settimana. Devo dire che sono molto soddisfatta, non mi ha causato alcun tipo di reazione allergica e, anzi, ha apportato un notevole miglioramento alla mia routine quotidiana. Si tratta di un peel dalla consistenza fluida, da applicare rigorosamente la notte, che, grazie alle sue proprietà esfolianti, aiuta la pelle a rigenerarsi. Devo ammettere che ogni volta che lo utilizzo, la mattina seguente mi sveglio con la pelle fresca e radiosa. Inoltre ho notato che alcuni dei segni rossi rimasti dopo la mia ultima eruzione cutanea stanno lentamente sbiadendo da quanto ho iniziato ad utilizzare questo peel.

L'ultima aggiunta alla mia routine di cura dei capelli è il Bumble & Bumble Hairdresser's Invisible Oil primer (€ 27,50), una base termo e UV protettiva che districa ed idrata i capelli, rendendoli morbidi e combattendo l'effetto crespo. In pratica, in un solo prodotto sono racchiusi tutti i trattamenti che vorremmo per i nostri capelli...non è grandioso? E funziona magnificamente! Da quando ho iniziato ad utilizzarlo i miei capelli sono molto più morbidi e l'umidità non è più un problema: ho trovato il mio più grande alleato nella lotta all'effetto crespo! Per non parlare del buonissimo profumo che lascia sui capelli!

Gli ultimi due prodotti che ho utilizzato quasi ogni giorni nel corso del mese sono entrambi di Mac. Il primo è un rossetto, ed, in particolare, sto parlando del celeberrimo "Brave" (€ 19,00), che, pare, sia uno dei rossetti nude utilizzati da Kylie Jenner per ottenere il suo caratteristico effetto ultra voluminoso sulle labbra che sta spopolando ormai da mesi e del quale anche io sono fan! Non mi sorprende, quindi, che questo rossetto sia diventato uno dei miei rossetti nude preferiti di sempre. Si tratta di una meravigliosa tonalità di rosa malva con una punta di marrone che, grazie anche al suo finish satinato, dona un effetto "le mie labbra ma meglio". Per qualche motivo, quando lo indosso le mie labbra, già abbastanza carnose di natura, appaiono più piene e voluminose. 

L'altro prodotto di Mac è un ombretto che si chiama "Era" (€ 18,00), un bellissimo beige dorato molto delicato che penso possa risultare bellissimo su qualunque tipo di carnagione. Se, come la sottoscritta, siete amanti degli ombretti dai toni neutri, questo fa sicuramente al caso vostro. Trovo che sia la tonalità perfetta da utilizzare tutti giorni, applicandolo nella piega dell'occhio per aggiungere un po' di definizione, ma mantenendo un effetto molto semplice e naturale. Inoltre, come la maggior parte degli ombretti di Mac, la qualità del prodotto è davvero ottima!

Changing habits - products I won't buy anymore

Cleaning up my make up storage, I came across some beauty products that I haven't been using for a while and, honestly, I don't feel like using them anymore. It's not that I don't like them, surely I did when I bought them, the fact is that my make up habits have changed a lot in the last couple of years and I feel like they are still changing. Growing up I realized that what I liked and what looked good on me when I was a teenager, don't feel good anymore.

First af all, my base. Some years ago I was in a "full coverage foundation" phase, even if I didn't need it at all! My holy grail foundation at that time was the Estée Lauder Double Wear foundation, I used to wear it every day. Don't get me wrong, I still think it's a good product, it has an excellent lasting power, it covers any imperfection and it doesn't look too cakey, but, over the years, I've learned that I don't need these kind of bases. I realized that lightweight foundations look better on me and a natural look is, in general, nicer. 

Another product that I need to stay away from is every kind of shimmering bronzer. It looks good on you if you are eighteen, but after your teens all that spark doesn't look good anymore. I own a golden shimmering bronzer, it's the YSL Terre Saharienne bronzing powder, and, thankfully, the shimmer is very subtle, so I can still use it sometimes, but, overall, I prefer a matte finish bronzer.

One thing I've learned over the years is that I'm not able to apply creamy blushers. For some reason I always end up with a mess on my cheeks, no matter if I apply it with my finger or with a brush. Of course, if the blush in question is a bright shocking pink, like my Urban Decay Afterglow Glide-On Cheek Tint in the shade Quikie, I will end up looking like a clown. This is the reason why no more bright pink creamy blushers for me!

When I was a teenager I was crazy about eyeshadows. I usually didn't wear any make up, especially at school, but when I was going out I liked to wear colorful eyeshadows...well, I mean, not so colorful, but I liked pastel colors a lot and, sometimes, I combined two or three colors together...thank God this phase didn't last for long! But, anyway, the point is that, even if my Dior n. 640 "Moonray" eyeshadows pallet is very dear to me, most of the times colorful eyeshadows are something I stay away from. Unless it's Halloween, of course.

Another beauty product I loved when I was younger is lipgloss. I used to collect  any kind and any color of lipglosses, but my favorites were the transparent ones. Then, for some reason, I arrived at a point when I started to hate them. I don't know how this happened, I just couldn't stand their sticky feeling anymore. The only two survivors in my make up bag are the Clinique Superbalm moisturizing glosses in the shade 01 Apricot and 03 Mango. The fact that I own two of them is because the first time I bought the wrong shade, I took Apricot instead of Mango, so I went back to buy the right one. I think I've used them only a couple of times. They are nice, slightly tinted, moisturizing and quite long lasting, but I don't like how they feel on my lips and, overall, I prefer a tinted lip balm anyway.

Facendo pulizia tra i miei trucchi, mi sono imbattuta in alcuni prodotti che non sto usando ormai da un po' di tempo e che, onestamente, non sento il bisogno di usare di nuovo. Non è che non mi piacciano, di sicuro mi piacevano molto quando li ho acquistati, tuttavia le mie abitudini in fatto di cosmesi sono cambiate molto negli ultimi anni e credo che siano ancora in fase di cambiamento. Crescendo, infatti, mi sono resa conto che quello che mi piaceva e mi donava quando ero più giovane non mi si addice più.

Innanzi tutto, la base. Alcuni anni fa ho attraversato la fase dei fondotinta ad alta coprenza, nonostante non ne avessi affatto bisogno. In quel periodo il mio fondotinta preferito era il Duble Wear di Estée Lauder, lo utilizzavo praticamente ogni giorno. Non fraintendetemi, trovo ancora che sia un valido prodotto, ha una tenuta eccellente, copre benissimo ogni imperfezione e non risulta eccessivamente pesante, tuttavia, con gli anni, ho imparato che non ho bisogno di utilizzare basi di questi tipo e che fondotinta più leggeri e look più naturali mi donano maggiormente. 

Un altro prodotto dal quale è bene che io stia alla larga è la terra abbronzante con particelle luminose. Questo tipo di prodotto è accettabile fino ai diciott'anni, dopodiché qualunque cosa eccessivamente luccicante è meglio che venga evitata. Al momento possiedo un bronzer con dei riflessi dorati, si tratta del YSL Terre Saharienne bronzing powder, e, fortunatamente, l'effetto luminoso è molto leggero, per cui riesco ancora ad utilizzarlo qualche volta, tuttavia preferisco di gran lunga terre con effetto matte.

Una cosa che ho imparato con gli anni è che sono del tutto incapace di applicare il blush in crema. Per qualche ragione, indipendentemente dal fatto che lo applichi con le dita o con un  pennello, l'effetto finale è sempre un pasticcio. Certo, se poi il blush in questione è di un bel rosa shocking, come il mio Urban Decay Afterglow Glide-On Cheek Tint nella tonalità Quikie, non vi è dubbio che finirei inevitabilmente per assomigliare ad un pagliaccio. Quindi, mi sono fatta un appunto mentale: stare lontana dai blush in crema rosa brillanti!

Quando ero adolescente avevo una passione per gli ombretti. Normalmente non indossavo make up, soprattutto quando andavo a scuola, ma quando uscivo con gli amici mi sbizzarrivo con ombretti di tutti i colori...ok, ora non immaginatevi un arcobaleno sulle mie palpebre, non arrivavo a tanto, tuttavia amavo molto i colori pastello e, a volte, ne utilizzavo due o tre insieme...grazie al cielo questa fase non è durata a lungo! In ogni caso, il punto è che, sebbene sia molto affezionata alla mia palette di Dior n. 640 "Moonray", di solito cerco di stare alla larga dagli obietti colorati. A meno che non sia Halloween, chiaro.

Un altro prodotto che adoravo da ragazzina era il lucidalabbra. Ricordo che ne collezionavo di tutti i colori, anche se i miei preferiti erano quelli trasparenti. Finché ad un cero punto, per qualche motivo, ho iniziato a non sopportare più la sensazione appiccicosa che lasciano sulle labbra. Gli unici due sopravvissuti nella mia collezione di trucchi sono due Superbalm Moisturizing Lipgloss di Clinique, il n. 01 Apricot e il n. 04 Mango. In realtà, ne possiedo due solo perché la prima vola ho sbagliato tonalità, volevo la 04 ma per sbaglio ho preso la 01. Quindi, sono tornata per acquistare la tonalità corretta. Credo, tuttavia, di averli utilizzati non più di un paio di volte. Sono dei lucidalabbra molto buoni, leggermente colorati, idratanti e duraturi, ma la loro consistenza è quella tipica di tutti i lucidalabbra, per cui non riesco ad indossarli per più di un paio d'ore senza sentire il bisogno di rimuoverli. Preferisco di gran lunga un buon balsamo labbra colorato.

Fall make up

I love Autumn, it's probably my favorite season. Of course, I love Summer, but fall's colors have no comparison. I find all these beautiful worm shades very inspiring for make up as well.

Amo molto l'autunno, è probabilmente la mia stagione preferita dell'anno. Certo, l'estate è meravigliosa, ma i colori autunnali creano un paesaggio che non ha paragoni. Queste stesse tonalità calde sono spesso fonte di ispirazione anche per il make up.

On the eyes I've been playing a lot with brown and burgundy shades, using a neutral or champagne color as a base. I love how those colors, together, warm up the complexion and emphasize the eye look. They look amazing on green eyes, but I find that they look good basically on everyone.

My favorite eyeshadows for this kind of look are the Kiko Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadows (€ 6,90) in the shades 07, a beautiful shimmery champagne shade, n. 04, a brown color with a touch of gold, and n. 37, a gorgeous luminous red purple color. These eyeshadows are very easy and quick to blend and also very long lasting. 

Another combination of eyeshadows I like is the Kiko Eyeshadow (€ 2,90) in the shade 208, a beautiful pearly copper shade, and the Kiko Water Eyeshadow (€ 8,90) in the shade 108, a gorgeous light gold with a warm undertone. For mascara I usually prefer a brown one, like the Pupa Vamp! (€  8,99) in the shade 200 Chocolate Brown. 

Sugli occhi mi piace molto giocare con i toni del marrone e del borgogna, utilizzando, come base, un color crema o champagne. Adoro come questi colori, insieme, riscaldino l'incarnato ed enfatizzino lo sguardo. Trovo che mettano in risalto in modo meraviglioso gli occhi verdi, ma, ad essere sinceri, sono tonalità che stanno molto bene praticamente a tutti.

Gli ombretti che preferisco per questo tipo di look sono i Kiko Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadows (€ 6,90) nelle tonalità 07, un bellissimo champagne brillante, n. 04, un marrone con riflessi dorati, e 37, uno stupendo color vinaccia molto luminoso. 

Un'altra combinazione di ombretti che amo è data dall'accostamento tra il Kiko Eyeshadow (€ 2,90) nella tonalità n. 208, un bel rame perlato, e il Kiko Water Eyeshadow (€ 8,90), tonalità n. 108, un graziosissimo color oro con sottotono caldo. Come mascara, preferisco orientarmi verso un marrone, come il Pupa Vamp! (€  8,99) nel colore n. 200 Chocolate Brown. 

When I discovered the Nars blush (€ 30,50) in the shade "Seduction", I suddenly felt in love with it. I think it's the perfect fall shade, it's a dark red wine color, with a tiny bit of shimmer in it. At first, I was afraid it would have been too dark for my fair skin tone, but, if applied lightly, it looks gorgeous.  

Quando ho scoperto il blush di Nars (€ 30,50) nella tonalità "Seduction" me ne sono subito innamorata. Si tratta di un bellissimo color sangria molto intenso, con un leggerissimo finish luminoso. Lo trovo assolutamente perfetto per l'autunno. All'inizio temevo sarebbe stato troppo scuro per la mia carnagione chiara, tuttavia, se applicato in minima dose, è stupendo. 

For the lips I have two favorite lipsticks in the perfect fall shades, one is deeper, while the other is a bit more light and sheer. The first one is the YSL Rouge Pur Couture (€ 28,90) in the color n. 206, a matte finish lipstick in a very deep and dramatic shade which is a mix of blood red, burgundy and brown. For a more wearable daytime look, I like the Kiko Smart Lipstick (€ 3,90) in the shade n. 913, a gorgeous rosewood pinky shade, that looks quite intense but can be easily sheered out, thanks to its creamy formula.

Per quanto riguarda le labbra, sono due i rossetti che prediligo per la stagione autunnale, uno più scuro e intenso, l'altro più chiaro e leggero. Il primo è il YSL Rouge Pur Couture (€ 28,90) color n. 206, un rossetto con finish opaco in una tonalità molto intensa e profonda che rappresenta un mix tra rosso sangue, color borgogna e marrone. Per un look da giorno più facile da portare, mi piace molto il Kiko Smart Lipstick (€ 3,90) nella tonalità n. 913, un bellissimo rosa palissandro che può sembrare abbastanza intenso ma che, grazie alla sua consistenza cremosa, è molto facile da sfumare e alleggerire.

Face of the week

Being a beauty and make up addict, I almost never wear the same make up products one day after the other, because I always like to try new products and different combinations. However, this week, every time I've worn make up, I've been loyal to the same look.

For my base, the only one that I've reached for has been the Bare Minerals Matte foundation (€ 28,90). I like it because it's so lightweight that it doesn't feel like I'm wearing foundation at all. The coverage is light, but I'm fine with that, I can always add some concealer if I need to. Moreover, when I set it with a powder, it lasts all day. My shade is Light W15.

Speaking of concealer, the one that I've been using this week is my Nars Radiant Creamy concealer (€ 27,50), which, even if it's not my favorite concealer in the world for the under eye area, has the merit of having a very good coverage and lasting power. Moreover, is very quick and easy to apply, I blend it with my finger and the work is done.

For my blush, I've been using the Rockateur Blush by Benefit (€ 33,50) all Summer long. I've talked about it in my July favorites here and my opinion hasn't changed. I think it's a beautiful shade and I'm pretty sure it would suit any skin tone.

To set everything in place, I've been using the Primed & Poreless loose powder by Too Faced (€ 28,90). Even if I still love the Mineral Veil powder by Bare Minerals better, this powder does a quite good job in keeping my T-zone matte for a good amount of hours and leaves a very nice silky finish on my skin.

I've been keeping my eyes make up pretty basic. On the eyelids I've been using the Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow by Kiko (€ 6,90) in the shade 07, a beautiful golden champagne shade that instantly brightens the eyes. These stick eyeshadows by Kiko are brilliant, the color payoff is amazing and their lasting power is great.

Normally, I would use a brown mascara, especially for the day time, but, since I've been keeping my eye make up so simple, I have been reaching for Le Volume de Chanel (€ 30,00), in the black shade, in order to make my lashes stand out. I really like this mascara, it's volumizing but, at the same time, it gives a very polished look to my lashes.

Finally, on my lips I've been using the Maybelline Baby Lips (€ 4,15) lip balm in the shade "Cherry me", in order to keep them hydrated and, at the same time, add a bit of color. I have a few of the Baby Lips lip balms, but this one is my favorites by far. It gives a nice cherry color to the lips, but it's very sheer and natural. Lovely.

Essendo appassionata di make up e di prodotti di bellezza in genere, mi capita raramente di scegliere di indossare lo stesso make up per due giorni consecutivi, poiché amo continuamente provare nuovi prodotti e diversi abbinamenti. Tuttavia, nell'ultima settimana, tutte le volte che ho deciso di truccarmi, sono rimasta fedele allo stesso look.

Per quanto riguarda la base, l'unico fondotinta per il quale ho optato in questi giorni è stato il Bare Minerals Matte (€ 28,90), che possiedo nella tonalità Light W15. Questo prodotto mi pace perché è talmente leggero sulla pelle che pare di non indossare nulla. Certo, la coprenza non è alta, ma la cosa non rappresenta un problema per me: se ne sento la necessità, posso sempre ricorrere ad un po' di correttore. Inoltre, se fissato con una buona cipria, dura tutto il giorno senza lucidarsi.

A proposito di correttore, quello che sto utilizzando ogni giorno è il correttore Eclat di Nars (€ 28,90), il quale, sebbene non sia il mio preferito per l'area sotto gli occhi, ha l'innegabile pregio di avere una buonissima coprenza ed un'ottima tenuta. Inoltre, la sua applicazione è semplice e veloce: lo sfumo con le dita ed il gioco è fatto.

Per quanto riguarda il blush, ho utilizzato il Rockateur di Benefit (€ 33,50) praticamente per tutta l'estate. Ne avevo già parlato nel post relativo ai preferiti del mese di Luglio, che trovate qui, e la mia opinione non è cambiata di una virgola. Trovo che sia una tonalità meravigliosa e sono convita che si addica a qualunque tipo di carnagione.

Per fissare il tutto, sto utilizzando la cipria in polvere libera Primed & Poreless di Too Faced (€ 28,90). Pur preferendole la Minerla Vail di Bare Minerals, questa cipria riesce comunque abbastanza bene nell'intento di mantenere la mia zona T opaca per un buon numero di ore e dona alla pelle un bellissimo finish setoso. 

Ho deciso di mantenere il trucco sugli occhi molto basico. Sulle palpebre mi sono limitata ad applicare il Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow di Kiko (€ 6,90) nella tonalità 07, un bellissimo color champagne dorato che illumina istantaneamente gli occhi. Questi ombretti in stick di Kiko sono davvero ottimi, hanno un resa di colore eccellente e durano tutto il giorno anche senza primer.

Normalmente opterei per un mascara marrone, soprattutto per il giorno, ma, poiché ho mantenuto il trucco sugli occhi così minimal, sto preferendo ricorrere a Le Volume de Chanel (€ 30,00) nel colore nero, così da far risaltare al massimo le ciglia. Questo mascara mi piace moltissimo, è volumizzante ma, la tempo stesso, conferisco un aspetto ordinato e definito alle mie ciglia.

Per finire, sulle labbra sto utilizzando il balsamo Baby Lips di Maybelline (€ 4,90) nella tonalità "Cherry Me", così da mantenerle idratate e, allo stesso tempo, aggiungere un tocco di colore. Possiedo alcuni di questi balsami labbra di Maybelline, ma questo è di gran lunga il mio preferito. Ravviva la tonalità delle labbra con una punta di color ciliegia, mantenendo l'effetto complessivo molto naturale.

August favorites

Another month has passed by, summer holidays are a nice memory and everything is going to go back to the same routine. As every year, I feel a mixture of sadness for the ending of summer and excitement for this new year. 

And here we are again with my favorite products of the month.

Last month my skin was freaking out, so I went to a dermatologist who suggested me to use the Avene Clean-Ac Cleansing Cream (€ 14,50). I've never been an Avene lover, all the products I've used before didn't work for me, so I wasn't expecting to like this cleanser. But I did. Thank to its creamy formula, it's extremely gentle, yet effective. It leaves my skin clean and bright and, at the same time, soft and moisturizing. Great product.

This summer I spent some days at the beach, in Milano Marittima, and I stopped at the Cream Beauty Store (see my post about it here), where my attention was caught by the Masterline Professional Beauty haircare line. I decided to buy the Frizz Control Glamour Sleek Serum (€ 7,00) from this line, which is a straightening and anti-frizz treatment that contains Sericin, a silk derived. And my hair definitely feels like silk when I use it! I apply it on wet hair and then I blow dry it. The result is amazing, my hair is extremely soft and luminous.

I've talked about the Dior Addict Fluid Stick (€ 31,00) in this post, so is no surprise that it's one of my favorite beauty products of this month. The shade I have is the n. 479 "Magique", a bright pink-coral shade with an amazing color payoff and a good lasting power. I usually don't like lip glosses, but this one has a very innovative formulation, it feels incredibly light on the lips and it's not sticky at all. 

The last two products I want to talk about are both from Kiko. The first one is another Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow (€ 6,90), this one in the shade 04, a beautiful luminous golden brown. It seems like I'm collecting these eyeshadows, but, what can I say, I love them. They're so easy and quick to apply, they last forever and the shades are beautiful.

The other one is the Kiko Smart Lipstick (€ 3,90) in the shade 913, a gorgeous dark pink with a brown undertone. Some Kiko's lipsticks tend to dry out my lips, but this one is very creamy and moisturizing. The intensity is buildable and the finish is very luminous, but not glossy. I also love the packaging, minimal and elegant, and the fact that it's parabens free.

Un altro mese è terminato, le vacanze estive sono ormai un bel ricordo e presto torneremo alla solita routine. Come ogni anno, in questo periodo provo un misto di tristezza per la fine dell'estate e di entusiasmo per il nuovo anno che mi attende. 

Ed eccomi di nuovo a parlarvi dei miei prodotti preferiti del mese. 

Il mese scorso la mia pelle ha attraversato un periodo in cui sembrava non tollerare alcun prodotto, per cui mi sono recata dal dermatologo, il quale mi ha consigliato di utilizzare la crema detergente Clean-Ac di Avene (€ 14,50). Non sono mai stata una grande amante dei prodotti Avene, per qualche motivo non hanno mai avuto alcuna efficacia sulla mie pelle, per cui non pensavo che mi sarei trovata bene con questo detergente. Invece mi sono dovuta ricredere! Grazie alla sua formulazione cremosa, è estremamente delicato, ma efficace allo stesso tempo. Pulisce a fondo la pelle, lasciandola morbida ed idratata. Ottimo prodotto.

Vi garantisco che il risultato è meraviglioso, lucentezza e morbidezza sono assicurate.

Vi ho parlato del Dior Addict Fluid Stick (€ 31,00) in questo post, non c'è, quindi, da stupirsi se ho deciso di annoverarlo tra i miei preferiti del mese. La tonalità che possiedo è la n. 479 "Magique", un bellissimo rosa corallo acceso, con un ottimo payoff di colore ed una buonissima capacità di tenuta. Normalmente non amo i lucidalabbra, ma questo ha una formulazione assolutamente innovativa, è leggerissimo sulle labbra e non risulta affatto appiccicoso. 

Gli ultimi due prodotti di cui vi voglio parlare sono entrambi di Kiko. Il primo è un altro Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow (€ 6,90), questa volta nella colorazione 04, un meraviglioso marrone dorato molto luminoso. Sembrerebbe che io stia collezionando questi ombretti, ma, cosa posso dire, li adoro. Sono velocissimi e facili da applicare, durano tutto il giorno e i colori disponibili sono molto graziosi!

L'altro è lo Smart Lipstick di Kiko (€ 3,90), nella tonalità n. 913 rosa palissandro, un rosa scuro con sottotono marrone molto particolare. Alcuni dei rossetti di Kiko tendono a seccare le mie labbra, ma questo è molto cremoso ed idratante. L'intensità del colore è facilmente modulabile e il finish è luminoso, sebbene non glossy. Inoltre apprezzo molto il packaging, minimal ed elegante, nonché il fatto che sia privo di parabeni.

It's the end of July and that means that holidays are close, which makes me very happy. As you know, it's also time to show you the products I've loved the most during this month.

The first one is a skincare product that I have bought a while ago but I've started to use it regularly only recently. It's the Ren Clarimatte Invisible Pores Detox Mask (€ 29,50), a clay mask that is supposed to reduce the appearance of pores and purify the skin. It's not a miracle worker, but if you give it time, you can definitely see some improvements in your skin. What I like the most about it it's the fact that, while the majority of purifying masks can be a little harsh, this one is very gentle and doesn't dry out my skin, which is good, considering that my skin has been super sensitive lately.

If you don't know yet, I'm obsessed with lip balms. My lips tend to get very dry and I always have to relay on some good lips moisturizing product in order to keep them soft and hydrated. Lately I've been in love with The Body Shop Aloe Lip Care (€ 9,00), it keeps my lips smooth and moisturized for long, every time I apply it before I go to bed, the morning after it's still on  my lips! And I also really like it's luminous finish!

This month my love for the Lush Daddy-O shampoo (€ 7,50) (I've talked about it in this post) has grown out of all proportions. I am obsessed with it. Not only I love the violet smell it has, but I really like how soft and clean it lives my hair. It also does a great job in keeping my blond hair from becoming dull or too yellowish. 

As far as make up, this month I've rediscovered my Benefit Rockateur blush (€ 33,50). I've bought it before Christmas and, even if I liked it, I didn't use it that much during winter time. Now, however, I've started using it again and I love it. I think it's perfect for summertime, it's a rose gold with a nice worm undertone and a slightly shimmering finish. Once applied on the skin, it turns into a sort of bronzy pink color, which emphasizes very well the sun kissed summer glow of the skin.

Another make up product I've been appreciating a lot is the Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow from Kiko (€ 6,90) in the shade 07, a beautiful shimmering champaign color. Like its name suggests, it's very long lasting and it's also no transfer. Sometimes I use it on its own on my eyelids and sometimes I apply it above other eyeshadows, in order to brighten them. You can also use it on the inner corner of your eyes as an highlighter. And it's super easy to apply! Lovely!

Siamo alla fine di Luglio, il che significa che le vacanze estive si avvicinano, cosa che mi rende ovviamente molto felice. Significa anche che è giunto il momento dell'appuntamento con i miei prodotti preferiti del mese.

Il primo è un prodotto di cura della pelle che ho acquistato un po' di tempo fa, ma che ho iniziato ad utilizzare con regolarità solo recentemente. Si tratta della maschera purificante delle linea Clarimatte di Ren (€ 29,50), una maschera a base d'argilla che ha lo scopo di ridurre l'aspetto dei pori e purificare la pelle dalle impurità. Non è un prodotto miracoloso, ma se gli si concede del tempo, i miglioramenti della pelle sono sicuramente visibili. Inoltre, apprezzo molto il fatto che, a differenza della maggior parte delle maschere purificanti, che tendono ad essere un po' aggressive, questa è estremamente delicata, cosa molto positiva, considerando il fatto che la mia  pelle, in quest'ultimo mese, è diventata diventata particolarmente sensibile.

Qualora ancora non lo sapeste, ho un'ossessione per i balsami labbra. Le mie labbra tendono a seccarsi molto, motivo per cui ho sempre bisogno di affidarmi ad un buon balsamo idratante. Ultimamente sto adorando il trattamento labbra all'aloe di The Body Shop (€ 9,00), mantiene le mie labbra morbide ed idratate a lungo e quando lo applico la sera prima di coricarmi, la mattina seguente le labbra sono ancora morbidissime come se l'avessi appena applicato. Inoltre, mi piace moltissimo il suo finish luminoso!

Durante questo ultimo mese il mio amore per lo shampoo Dorian Gray di Lush (€ 7,90) (ne ho parlato in questo post) è cresciuto a dismisura. Ne sono letteralmente ossessionata. Non solo adoro il suo profumo di violetta, ma trovo che lasci i miei capelli incredibilmente morbidi e puliti, oltre al fatto che fa davvero un buon lavoro nel preservare il biondo, impedendo che si ingiallisca i diventi spento. 

Per quanto riguarda il make up, questo mese ho avuto modo di riscoprire il blush Rockateur di Benefit (€ 33,50). L'ho acquistato prima di Natale, ma, sebbene mi piacesse molto, non l'ho utilizzato spesso durante l'interno. Ora, invece, non posso farne a meno. Trovo che sia il colore perfetto per l'estate, un rosa dorato con sottotono caldo ed un finish leggermente brillante. Una volta applicato, vira verso un bronzo rosato che enfatizza benissimo il colore naturale della pelle abbronzata.

Un altro cosmetico che sto apprezzando molto è il Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow di Kiko (€ 6,90) nella tonalità 07, un bellissimo color champagne luminoso. Come il nome suggerisce, si tratta di un ombretto in stick a lunga durata e no transfer. A volte lo applico da solo sulla palpebra, altre volte, invece, mi piace stenderlo sopra altri ombretti per renderli più luminosi. Inoltre, può anche essere utilizzato come illuminante nell'angolo interno degli occhi. Per non parlare della facilità con cui si applica. Fantastico!
