Changing habits - products I won't buy anymore

Cleaning up my make up storage, I came across some beauty products that I haven't been using for a while and, honestly, I don't feel like using them anymore. It's not that I don't like them, surely I did when I bought them, the fact is that my make up habits have changed a lot in the last couple of years and I feel like they are still changing. Growing up I realized that what I liked and what looked good on me when I was a teenager, don't feel good anymore.

First af all, my base. Some years ago I was in a "full coverage foundation" phase, even if I didn't need it at all! My holy grail foundation at that time was the Estée Lauder Double Wear foundation, I used to wear it every day. Don't get me wrong, I still think it's a good product, it has an excellent lasting power, it covers any imperfection and it doesn't look too cakey, but, over the years, I've learned that I don't need these kind of bases. I realized that lightweight foundations look better on me and a natural look is, in general, nicer. 

Another product that I need to stay away from is every kind of shimmering bronzer. It looks good on you if you are eighteen, but after your teens all that spark doesn't look good anymore. I own a golden shimmering bronzer, it's the YSL Terre Saharienne bronzing powder, and, thankfully, the shimmer is very subtle, so I can still use it sometimes, but, overall, I prefer a matte finish bronzer.

One thing I've learned over the years is that I'm not able to apply creamy blushers. For some reason I always end up with a mess on my cheeks, no matter if I apply it with my finger or with a brush. Of course, if the blush in question is a bright shocking pink, like my Urban Decay Afterglow Glide-On Cheek Tint in the shade Quikie, I will end up looking like a clown. This is the reason why no more bright pink creamy blushers for me!

When I was a teenager I was crazy about eyeshadows. I usually didn't wear any make up, especially at school, but when I was going out I liked to wear colorful eyeshadows...well, I mean, not so colorful, but I liked pastel colors a lot and, sometimes, I combined two or three colors together...thank God this phase didn't last for long! But, anyway, the point is that, even if my Dior n. 640 "Moonray" eyeshadows pallet is very dear to me, most of the times colorful eyeshadows are something I stay away from. Unless it's Halloween, of course.

Another beauty product I loved when I was younger is lipgloss. I used to collect  any kind and any color of lipglosses, but my favorites were the transparent ones. Then, for some reason, I arrived at a point when I started to hate them. I don't know how this happened, I just couldn't stand their sticky feeling anymore. The only two survivors in my make up bag are the Clinique Superbalm moisturizing glosses in the shade 01 Apricot and 03 Mango. The fact that I own two of them is because the first time I bought the wrong shade, I took Apricot instead of Mango, so I went back to buy the right one. I think I've used them only a couple of times. They are nice, slightly tinted, moisturizing and quite long lasting, but I don't like how they feel on my lips and, overall, I prefer a tinted lip balm anyway.

Facendo pulizia tra i miei trucchi, mi sono imbattuta in alcuni prodotti che non sto usando ormai da un po' di tempo e che, onestamente, non sento il bisogno di usare di nuovo. Non è che non mi piacciano, di sicuro mi piacevano molto quando li ho acquistati, tuttavia le mie abitudini in fatto di cosmesi sono cambiate molto negli ultimi anni e credo che siano ancora in fase di cambiamento. Crescendo, infatti, mi sono resa conto che quello che mi piaceva e mi donava quando ero più giovane non mi si addice più.

Innanzi tutto, la base. Alcuni anni fa ho attraversato la fase dei fondotinta ad alta coprenza, nonostante non ne avessi affatto bisogno. In quel periodo il mio fondotinta preferito era il Duble Wear di Estée Lauder, lo utilizzavo praticamente ogni giorno. Non fraintendetemi, trovo ancora che sia un valido prodotto, ha una tenuta eccellente, copre benissimo ogni imperfezione e non risulta eccessivamente pesante, tuttavia, con gli anni, ho imparato che non ho bisogno di utilizzare basi di questi tipo e che fondotinta più leggeri e look più naturali mi donano maggiormente. 

Un altro prodotto dal quale è bene che io stia alla larga è la terra abbronzante con particelle luminose. Questo tipo di prodotto è accettabile fino ai diciott'anni, dopodiché qualunque cosa eccessivamente luccicante è meglio che venga evitata. Al momento possiedo un bronzer con dei riflessi dorati, si tratta del YSL Terre Saharienne bronzing powder, e, fortunatamente, l'effetto luminoso è molto leggero, per cui riesco ancora ad utilizzarlo qualche volta, tuttavia preferisco di gran lunga terre con effetto matte.

Una cosa che ho imparato con gli anni è che sono del tutto incapace di applicare il blush in crema. Per qualche ragione, indipendentemente dal fatto che lo applichi con le dita o con un  pennello, l'effetto finale è sempre un pasticcio. Certo, se poi il blush in questione è di un bel rosa shocking, come il mio Urban Decay Afterglow Glide-On Cheek Tint nella tonalità Quikie, non vi è dubbio che finirei inevitabilmente per assomigliare ad un pagliaccio. Quindi, mi sono fatta un appunto mentale: stare lontana dai blush in crema rosa brillanti!

Quando ero adolescente avevo una passione per gli ombretti. Normalmente non indossavo make up, soprattutto quando andavo a scuola, ma quando uscivo con gli amici mi sbizzarrivo con ombretti di tutti i colori...ok, ora non immaginatevi un arcobaleno sulle mie palpebre, non arrivavo a tanto, tuttavia amavo molto i colori pastello e, a volte, ne utilizzavo due o tre insieme...grazie al cielo questa fase non è durata a lungo! In ogni caso, il punto è che, sebbene sia molto affezionata alla mia palette di Dior n. 640 "Moonray", di solito cerco di stare alla larga dagli obietti colorati. A meno che non sia Halloween, chiaro.

Un altro prodotto che adoravo da ragazzina era il lucidalabbra. Ricordo che ne collezionavo di tutti i colori, anche se i miei preferiti erano quelli trasparenti. Finché ad un cero punto, per qualche motivo, ho iniziato a non sopportare più la sensazione appiccicosa che lasciano sulle labbra. Gli unici due sopravvissuti nella mia collezione di trucchi sono due Superbalm Moisturizing Lipgloss di Clinique, il n. 01 Apricot e il n. 04 Mango. In realtà, ne possiedo due solo perché la prima vola ho sbagliato tonalità, volevo la 04 ma per sbaglio ho preso la 01. Quindi, sono tornata per acquistare la tonalità corretta. Credo, tuttavia, di averli utilizzati non più di un paio di volte. Sono dei lucidalabbra molto buoni, leggermente colorati, idratanti e duraturi, ma la loro consistenza è quella tipica di tutti i lucidalabbra, per cui non riesco ad indossarli per più di un paio d'ore senza sentire il bisogno di rimuoverli. Preferisco di gran lunga un buon balsamo labbra colorato.

Fall make up

I love Autumn, it's probably my favorite season. Of course, I love Summer, but fall's colors have no comparison. I find all these beautiful worm shades very inspiring for make up as well.

Amo molto l'autunno, è probabilmente la mia stagione preferita dell'anno. Certo, l'estate è meravigliosa, ma i colori autunnali creano un paesaggio che non ha paragoni. Queste stesse tonalità calde sono spesso fonte di ispirazione anche per il make up.

On the eyes I've been playing a lot with brown and burgundy shades, using a neutral or champagne color as a base. I love how those colors, together, warm up the complexion and emphasize the eye look. They look amazing on green eyes, but I find that they look good basically on everyone.

My favorite eyeshadows for this kind of look are the Kiko Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadows (€ 6,90) in the shades 07, a beautiful shimmery champagne shade, n. 04, a brown color with a touch of gold, and n. 37, a gorgeous luminous red purple color. These eyeshadows are very easy and quick to blend and also very long lasting. 

Another combination of eyeshadows I like is the Kiko Eyeshadow (€ 2,90) in the shade 208, a beautiful pearly copper shade, and the Kiko Water Eyeshadow (€ 8,90) in the shade 108, a gorgeous light gold with a warm undertone. For mascara I usually prefer a brown one, like the Pupa Vamp! (€  8,99) in the shade 200 Chocolate Brown. 

Sugli occhi mi piace molto giocare con i toni del marrone e del borgogna, utilizzando, come base, un color crema o champagne. Adoro come questi colori, insieme, riscaldino l'incarnato ed enfatizzino lo sguardo. Trovo che mettano in risalto in modo meraviglioso gli occhi verdi, ma, ad essere sinceri, sono tonalità che stanno molto bene praticamente a tutti.

Gli ombretti che preferisco per questo tipo di look sono i Kiko Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadows (€ 6,90) nelle tonalità 07, un bellissimo champagne brillante, n. 04, un marrone con riflessi dorati, e 37, uno stupendo color vinaccia molto luminoso. 

Un'altra combinazione di ombretti che amo è data dall'accostamento tra il Kiko Eyeshadow (€ 2,90) nella tonalità n. 208, un bel rame perlato, e il Kiko Water Eyeshadow (€ 8,90), tonalità n. 108, un graziosissimo color oro con sottotono caldo. Come mascara, preferisco orientarmi verso un marrone, come il Pupa Vamp! (€  8,99) nel colore n. 200 Chocolate Brown. 

When I discovered the Nars blush (€ 30,50) in the shade "Seduction", I suddenly felt in love with it. I think it's the perfect fall shade, it's a dark red wine color, with a tiny bit of shimmer in it. At first, I was afraid it would have been too dark for my fair skin tone, but, if applied lightly, it looks gorgeous.  

Quando ho scoperto il blush di Nars (€ 30,50) nella tonalità "Seduction" me ne sono subito innamorata. Si tratta di un bellissimo color sangria molto intenso, con un leggerissimo finish luminoso. Lo trovo assolutamente perfetto per l'autunno. All'inizio temevo sarebbe stato troppo scuro per la mia carnagione chiara, tuttavia, se applicato in minima dose, è stupendo. 

For the lips I have two favorite lipsticks in the perfect fall shades, one is deeper, while the other is a bit more light and sheer. The first one is the YSL Rouge Pur Couture (€ 28,90) in the color n. 206, a matte finish lipstick in a very deep and dramatic shade which is a mix of blood red, burgundy and brown. For a more wearable daytime look, I like the Kiko Smart Lipstick (€ 3,90) in the shade n. 913, a gorgeous rosewood pinky shade, that looks quite intense but can be easily sheered out, thanks to its creamy formula.

Per quanto riguarda le labbra, sono due i rossetti che prediligo per la stagione autunnale, uno più scuro e intenso, l'altro più chiaro e leggero. Il primo è il YSL Rouge Pur Couture (€ 28,90) color n. 206, un rossetto con finish opaco in una tonalità molto intensa e profonda che rappresenta un mix tra rosso sangue, color borgogna e marrone. Per un look da giorno più facile da portare, mi piace molto il Kiko Smart Lipstick (€ 3,90) nella tonalità n. 913, un bellissimo rosa palissandro che può sembrare abbastanza intenso ma che, grazie alla sua consistenza cremosa, è molto facile da sfumare e alleggerire.

No make up, make up

Even if I’m make up addicted, I don’t always like to wear lots of make up; there are days when I prefer to go bare face, with just a little help from make up to conceal what needs to be concealed and to make my pale face look a little more alive.

In these days I don’t usually wear foundation, unless I feel like I need to (= horrible, evil breakouts). In these cases I usually reach for a sheer base, like a very lightweight foundation or a bb or cc cream. I have to admit I’m not a big fan of bb creams, I find them to be a bit heavy and their color range is usually awful. When cc creams have been released I thought that they could have worked better for me, so, as you maight know if you follow me on Instagram, I decided to try the La Poche Posay Rosaliac CC cream (€ 21,20), which turned out to be perfect to achieve a no make up, make up look. When I first apply it my reaction was like “What the heck, this is way too dark and orange for me, I look like an Umpa Lumpa!!!”. This comes in only one shade, which is supposed to adjust to every skin tones. And it does! After a couple of minutes I’ve applied it, it just fades into my skin, giving it a nice and healthy radiance in a very natural way, like if it’s my bare skin, but better. It also has an SPF 30, which is always good. It doesn’t cover imperfections, so, if you have some, you’re going to need a concealer. The one I like to use if I need to it’s the Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage (€ 36,00), which has a very good coverage and is extremely long lasting. Under the eyes, instead, I like to use something lighter, like an highlighting pen and the one that I usually use when I do this kind of look is the highlighting pen with vitamin c from Bottega Verde (€ 12,99). It brightens my eyes, it doesn’t look greasy and the shade I use (Beige Rosè) matches perfectly my skin, so that, again, the result is very natural.

For a no make up make up look I don’t like to wear blushes, I prefer, instead, to use a light bronzer to contouring my face, in order to add a touch of color, for an healthy, sun-kissed look. The one I’m currently using is the Terre Saharienne Poudre de Soleil by YSL (€ 39,80) in shade 3. If you want to know more about this product, I’ve talked about it in my March favorites post here.

Now, for the eyes I use the Long Lasting stick eyeshadow from Kiko’s Kaleidoscopic collection (€ 13,90) in n. 28, a vanilla shade, in order to brighten and conceal any redness on the eyelids. This eyeshadow is not completely matte, but it’s not shimmering either. It has just a tiny bit of gold in it, but you can barely notice it, so the result is very natural.

If I want to wear mascara, I go for a brown one, like my Pupa Vamp mascara (€ 12,00) in the shade Chocolate brown. It’s a very nice volumizing mascara, it gives a bit of definition and volume to my lashes, but it’s not too intense, which is perfect for this kind of look.

Finally, the lips. In this case I normally opt for a lip balm and that’s it. Sometimes, anyway, I want to add a touch of color to my lips and what I like to use is the Chubby lip stick from Clinique in the color Whole lotta Honey (€ 17,50). What I like the most about this product is that it’s very moisturizing and the color is quite sheer and natural, it’s a sort of warm brown shade, very easy to apply and also very long lasting on my lips.

What are your secret for a no make up, make up look?

Anche se sono una make up addicted, non sempre amo indossare molto trucco; ci sono, infatti, giorni nei quali preferisco optare per un aspetto più naturale, ricorrendo all’aiuto del make up unicamente per correggere eventuali imperfezioni e per ravvivare un po’ la mia carnagione pallida.

In questi giorni, normalmente, non indosso fondotinta, a meno che non ne abbia le necessità (= orribili brufoli nefasti che compaiono sempre nel momento sbagliato!!!!). In questi casi, mi oriento verso una base molto leggera, come un fondotinta a bassa coprenza o una bb o cc cream. Devo confessare di non essere una grande fan delle bb cream, tutte quelle che ho provato fin’ora si sono rivelate troppo pesanti e con una terribile scelta di colorazioni. Quando sono state messe in commercio le cc cream ho pensato che avrebbero fatto un lavoro migliore con la mia pelle, motivo per cui, come probabilmente saprete se mi seguite su Intagram, ho deciso di acquistare la La Roche Posay Rosaliac CC cream (€21,20), che si è rivelata perfetta per raggiungere un "no make up, make up” look. Quando l’ho applicata la prima volta la mia reazione è stata “Ommioddio è scurissima e arancione sembro un Umpa Lumpa!!”. Questa crema, infatti, è disponibile in un’unica tonalità, che dovrebbe avere la capacità di adattarsi a qualsiasi carnagione. E, in effetti, è quello che fa, perlomeno nel mio caso. Dopo un paio di minuti dalla sua applicazione, infatti, svanisce sulla pelle, regalandole un aspetto sano e radioso, come se fosse la mia pelle nuda nelle sue condizioni migliori. Inoltre ha un SPF 30, il che non guasta mai. Essendo molto leggera, non copre eventuali imperfezioni, per le quali è necessario ricorrere ad un buon correttore. Quello che preferisco in questi casi è il Secret Camouflage di Laura Mercier (€ 36,00), che ha una buonissima coprenza a dura davvero molto. Sotto gli occhi, invece preferisco qualcosa di più leggero, come una penna illuminante e quella che di solito utilizzo per ottenere questo tipo di look è il correttore in penna illuminante con vitamina c di Bottega Verde (€ 12,99). Fa un ottimo lavoro nell’illuminare lo sguardo senza appesantirlo e la tonalità che utilizzo (Beige Rosa) si adatta perfettamente alla mia carnagione, facendo sì che l’effetto ottenuto sia, ancora una volta, estremamente naturale, come se non indossassi affatto make up.

Per un no make up, make up look non amo, normalmente, indossare il blush, preferendo, invece, optare per un leggero contouring con un bronzer chiaro, così da rendere i lineamenti più definiti e donare un po’ di colore e un aspetto più sano alla mia pelle. Quello che sto utilizzando al momento e del quale sono molto soddisfatta è il Terre Saharienne Poudre de Soleil di YSL (€ 39,80), nella tonalità numero 3. Passando agli occhi, di solito applico una piccola quantità dell’ombretto in stick della collezione Kaleidoscopic di Kiko (€ 13,90) nella tonalità numero 28, così da correggere eventuali rossori della palpebra e illuminare lo sguardo. Il finish non è completamente matte, ma nemmeno shimmer. Presenta, tuttavia, un leggero riflesso dorato che si nota appena, mantenendo, dunque, il risultato complessivo molto naturale.

A questo punto, normalmente, eviterei il mascara, ma nel caso decidessi di applicarlo, lascerei da parte il nero e mi orienterei verso un mascara marrone. Quello che al momento mi sta piacendo davvero molto è il Vamp di Pupa (€ 12,00) nella tonalità Chocolate brown.Si tratta di un mascara volumizzante molto buono, che regala un po’ di definizione e di volume alle mie ciglia, senza, tuttavia, essere eccessivamente intenso, il che lo rende perfetto per questo tipo di look.

Infine, le labbra. Anche in questo caso, normalmente applicherei solo un buon balsamo idratante, ma se decidessi di donare alle mie labbra un po’ di colore, allora sceglierei senza dubbio il mio Chubby lip stick di Clinique nella tonalità Whole lotta Honey (€ 17,50). Questo prodotto lascia le mie labbra idratate a lungo e la sua colorazione è molto leggera e neutra, è una sorta di marrone caldo, molto facile da applicare e molto duraturo sulle labbra.

Here we are with another monthly favorites post.

I’m going to start with foundation, because this month I’ve been mixing two foundations together and I’m very happy with the result! The foundations I’m talking about are my beloved Chanel Vitalumiere Acqua (€ 38,00) and my latest purchase, the Clinique Anti Blemish Solution (€ 28,50) foundation. They work great on their own, but together they’re just perfect. The Chanel foundation adds a touch of light, while the Clinique one keeps my face oil free all day long, giving me a little more coverage then the Vitalumiere Acqua. The shade of the Clinique Anti Blemish (02 fresh ivory) is a bit too dark and beige for me, but mixing it with the Chanel foundation (01 beige) I achieve the perfect shade. I’m in love with them!!

I’ve bought the Bioderma Sébium pore refiner (€ 15,00) a while ago, but in that period my skin became a bit dry, so I didn’t use it for a while. Now, my skin is back to the combination/oily side, so I’ve started using this product regularly and I’m very impressed. I apply it every morning, before my moisturizer, only on my T zone, and it makes my skin matte and oil free for almost all day, giving it a nice, smooth texture.

Last month I sow Liza Eldridge wearing the Clinique Chubby stick (€ 19,66) in the shade 15 Pudgy Peony in one of her videos and I loved the shade so much I decided to buy it. I placed an order online on the Sephora site and, among other stuff I needed to buy, I ordered it too. I can’t tell you how disappointed I was when I opened the box they sent me: the shade didn’t look like the one she wore in that video, but it was darker and brighter that I thought, almost fucsia. I’ve already own some fucsia lipsticks and I didn’t need another one! Despite that, I’ve started enjoying this lipstick day after day. It’s not the color I wanted, but, it’s a very nice pink shade that really suits me. It’s very easy to blend and it’s also quite moisturizing. I like to apply a light layer of it on my lips for an everyday look, but it can be easily built into a more intense color. Lovely.

My Mac eyeshadow (€ 17,64) in Copperplate is my absolute favorite eyeshadow. It’s the perfect tope shade, not too dark, not too light, not too grey and not too brown: just perfect. When I want an easy look, but I want to add a bit of definition to my eyes, I use a light cream shade on my eyelid and then I apply this eyeshadow on the creases of my eyes. It’s not super pigmented, but I prefer applying a light layer and then add more color if I need to.

I’ve always preferred using brown eye pencils instead of black ones, especially on an everyday base. The one that I’ve been using and loving at the moment is the Kiko Twinkle eye pencil (€ 6,90) in the shade 02 Inspiring Golden Brown. I like the fact that it has a touch of gold in it, but it’s not glimmer or glowing at all. It’s just very luminous and natural. And it’s really long lasting!

I don’t usually wear bronzers, most of them are either too dark and orange or too sparkling for me. Anyway, when I sow this Terre Saharienne Poudre de Soleil by YSL (€ 39,80) in shade 3, I thought it could have been the right shade for me. When I swatched it in the shop I didn’t notice it has a bit of glimmer in it, but it’s something I can handle with. I like to use it as a blush when I decide to go for a natural look based on brown shades. It gives me a healthy, sun kissed look, which is perfect for Spring time!

E’ di nuovo tempo per i miei prodotti preferiti del mese!

Voglio iniziare con il fondotinta, perché questo mese ho iniziato a mixare due fondotinta tra loro e il risultato è perfetto. I due fondotinta in questione sono il mio amato Chanel Vitalumiere Acqua (€ 38,00) ed il mio ultimo acquisto, il Clinique Anti Blemish Solution (€ 28,50). Sono prodotti che mi piacciono molto anche utilizzati singolarmente, ma insieme fanno faville! Il fondotinta di Chanel dona un tocco di luminosità al viso, mentre il Clinique apporta un po’ più di coprenza e tiene a bada la mia pelle mista, impedendole di lucidarsi. La tonalità del fondotinta di Clinique che possiedo (02 fresh ivory) è leggermente scura e beige per la mia carnagione, ma mescolando il prodotto con il fondo di Chanel (nella tonalità 01 beige) raggiungo la tonalità perfetta!

E’ passato ormai un po’ di tempo da quando ho comprato il Bioderma Sébium Pore Refiner (€ 15,00), ma nel periodo in cui l’ho acquistato la mia pelle ha iniziato a diventare un po’ secca, motivo per cui ho messo questo prodotto momentaneamente da parte. Da qualche tempo, tuttavia, la mia pelle è tornata al suo normale stato, quindi ho tirato questo siero fuori dal cassetto ed ho iniziato ad utilizzarlo con costanza. Lo applico ogni mattina sulla zona T, prima della crema idratante. Devo dire che sono molto impressionata dalla sua capacità di opacizzare la mia pelle, mantenendola tale a lungo e migliorandone la texture.

Il mese scorso ho visto Lisa Eldridge indossare il Clinique Chubby stick (€ 19,66)  nella tonalità 15 Pudgy Peony in uno dei suoi video. Sembrava un bellissimo rosa delicato, perfetto da indossare tutti i giorni, motivo per cui ho deciso di aggiungerlo ad un ordine che stavo facendo sul sito di Sephora. Non so dirvi la delusione che ho provato quando ho aperto la confezione: il colore non somigliava affatto a quello indossato da Lisa nel suo video, era più scuro e acceso, quasi fucsia. Possiedo già qualche rossetto di questo colore, non avevo certo bisogno di acquistarne un altro! Tuttavia, ho iniziato ad apprezzarlo sempre di più man mano che lo utilizzavo. Non è la tonalità che immaginavo, ma devo ammettere che è comunque una tonalità di rosa molto bella e si addice molto ai miei colori. Si stende facilmente sulle labbra e risulta abbastanza idratante. A me piace applicarne uno strato leggero per un look giornaliero, ma si può tranquillamente intensificare il colore procedendo ad applicarene un secondo strato.

Il mio ombretto di Mac (€ 17,64) nel colore Copperplate è uno dei miei ombretti preferiti di sempre. E’ il color tortora perfetto: non troppo chiaro, non troppo scuro, non troppo grigio e non troppo marrone. Perfetto. Quando voglio ottenere un look semplice ma, allo stesso tempo, voglio aggiungere un po’ di definizione all’occhio, utilizzo un ombretto color crema come base e, successivamente, applico questo ombretto di Mac nella piega degli occhi e sfumo il tutto. Non è eccessivamente pigmentato, ma preferisco dover aggiungere prodotto per intensificare il colore piuttosto che dover togliere prodotto perché eccessivamente intenso.

Ho sempre preferito utilizzare matite occhi marrone piuttosto che nere, soprattutto per un look semplice per tutti i giorni. Quella che sto utilizzando al momento e che mi sta piacendo davvero molto è la Kiko Twinkle eye pencil (€ 6,90) nel colore 02 Inspiring Golden Brown. La tonalità di marrone è arricchita da un tocco leggero di oro, che rende il colore luminoso ma in modo assolutamente discreto. Inoltre ha un’eccellente durata.

Normalmente non utilizzo bronzer, trovo che siano tutti o troppo scuri e arancioni per me, o troppo luminosi e brillanti, cosa che non mi piace affatto. Tuttavia, quando ho visto in profumeria la Terre Saharienne Poudre de Soleil di Ysl (€ 39,80)  nella tonalità 3, ho pensato potesse essere prefetto per me. In realtà, quando l’ho provato sulla mano nel negozio, non ho notato la presenza di riflessi dorati leggermente luminosi, altrimenti, probabilmente, non l’avrei acquistato. In ogni caso questo effetto brillante è davvero molto delicato e si nota appena ed è proprio grazie a questo tocco di luce che mi piace molto utilizzarlo come blush, soprattutto quando voglio un look naturale, basato sui toni del marrone. La mia carnagione pallida sembra, così, più sana e leggermente colorita, perfetta per la primavera!

Beauty haul

These days have been creazy for me, but somehow I’ve found the time to do a little shopping and I would like to show you what I bought.

The first product is a skincare product from Clarins, the Lotus Oil Face Treatment (€ 34,95). This is basically an oil for combination/oily skin that should be used as a night treatment. It’s supposed to purify and tighten pores, refining the skin texture, moisturize and prevent fine lines. You only need two or three drops of it, so a little goes a long way. It’s also made of 100% pure plant extracts and zero preservatives. Sounds good, right? I’ve been using it two or three times a week and I have to say that when I wake up in the morning I can definitely see a difference in my skin, it seems softer and more radiant. So far so good.

Another skincare product I bought is the Bioderma Sébium Pore Refiner (€ 15,00). I decided to buy it because Lisa Eldridge mentioned it in her french pharmacie skincare favourites video. Since I don’t use primers, I thought this could be a great alternative, because it claims to be able to mattify the skin and make pores appear less visible. I have used it a couple of time, applying it only on my t-zone, and it really makes my skin look softer and smoother and makes my foundation last a bit longer. I’m very happy with it.

I’ve also made a qick stop at Lush’s and I bought the Popcorn Lip Scrub (€ 7,35), I’ve never tried it before, but everyone says great things about it, so I decided to give it a go. And I love the popcorn taste!

Talking about makeup, I needed a new mascara and I decided to try the YSL Baby Boll (€ 29,90). I’m a big fan of volumizing mascaras and my all time favourite is the Diorshow Extase, but I wanted to try something different and this cought my eyes. It’s not as volumizing as the Dior one, but it makes my lashes look longer and it’s very easy and quick to apply, unlike the Diorshow Extase. 

I also bought the Make Up Forever Full Cover (€ 30,90), since I needed a full coverage concealer, and I’m very impressed with it, it covers everything without looking cakey.

I wanted to buy the Hoola bronzer by Benefit, but the girl at the counter told me that this bonzer is way too dark for my skintone (pale girls problems) and suggested me to take a look at their Rockateur blush (€ 32,90) instead. And I find it to be a very nice blush, indeed. It’s a beautiful dusty pink shade with a little bit of shimmer in it that gives a gourgeus luminous finish. I think it’s the kind of blush that looks great on cadaveric lighter skin tones like mine.

The last purchases I wanna show you are from Kiko. First of all, I bought an Infinity Eyeshadow (€ 4,90) for my Kiko eye click 09 palette, and I choose the number 214. It’s a very nice matte neutral color, with a touch of pink in it. I like Kiko eyeshadows as they’re very pigmented and very inexpensive. Next, I picked up an eyelash curler (€ 5,90) and I have to say it works really well on my lashes. The last thing I bought is n. 106 round foundation brush (€ 12,90), I already own a couple of Kiko brushes and I think they have a pretty good quality, so I’m sure this one will be nice too.

In questi ultimi giorni sono stata molto impegnata, ma in qualche modo ho trovato il tempo di fare un po’ di shopping e vorrei mostrarvi cosa ho acquistato.

Il primo prodotto è il Lotus Oil di Clarins (€ 34,95). Si tratta fondamentalmente di un olio pensato per pelli miste o grasse da applicare sul viso come trattamento serale. La sua funzione è quella di purificare ed astringere i pori, migliorare l’aspetto della pelle, idratare e prevenire la comparsa di rughe. E’ sufficiente applicarne due o tre gocce, per cui sono certa che mi durerà a lungo. Inoltre è composto al 100% di puri estratti di piante ed è privo di conservanti. Sembra magnifico, non è così? Lo sto usando due o tre volte a settimana e devo ammettere che il mattino successivo posso sicuramente vedere la differenza, la mia pelle appare più morbida e levigata. Per ora sono molto soddisfatta.

Un altro prodotto di cura della pelle che ho avuto modo di acquistare è il Bioderma Sébium Pore Refiner (€ 15,00). Ho deciso di provarlo dopo averne sentito parlare da Lisa Eldridge nel video in cui mostra i suoi prodotti farmaceutici francesi preferiti. Poiché non utilizzo alcun primer, ho pensato che questo potesse essere una valida alternativa, poiché si propone di opacizzare la pelle e ridurre l’aspetto dei pori. Per ora l’ho usato solo un paio di volte solo sulla zona T e l’effetto è davvero soddisfacente, la pelle sembra più levigata ed il fondotinta dura un po’ più a lungo.

Ho, poi, finalmente messo le mani sullo scrub labbra Popcorn di Lush (€ 7,35); sembra essere un prodotto molto apprezzato sul web, per cui ho deciso di provarlo. E sa davvero di popcorn!

Passando, invece, al makeup, avevo bisogno di un nuovo mascara e ho optato per il YSL Baby Doll mascara (€ 29,90). Amo molto i mascara volumizzanti e quello che preferisco è il Diorshow Extase, ma volevo provare qualcosa di diverso e questo di YSL ha catturato la mia attenzione. Devo dire che per quanto riguarda la capacità di conferire volume alle ciglia non riesce ad eguagliare il mascara di Dior, ma ha un bell’effetto allungante ed è facile e veloce da applicare, a differenza del Diorshow Extase.

Un altro acquisto che ho effettuato è il correttore Make Up Forever Full Cover (€ 30,90); avevo, infatti, bisogno di un correttore con una buona coprenza e devo ammettere che sono rimasta molto colpita dalla capacità di questo di coprire ogni imperfezione mantenendo comunque un effetto molto naturale.

Avevo anche intenzione di comprare il bronzer Hoola di Benefit, ma l’addetta alle vendite del corner Benefit mi ha mostrato come le tonalità fosse troppo scura per la mia carnagione (problemi da ragazza pallida!), suggerendomi, invece, di dare un’occhiata al loro nuovo blush, il Rockateur (€ 32,90). Ed è davvero un blush molto bello, ha una meravigliosa tonalità di rosa antico leggermente luminoso e trovo che sia particolarmente adatto alle carnagioni più cadaveriche chiare come la mia.

Gli ultimi acquisti che vorrei mostrarvi sono tutti di Kiko. Per prima cosa ho aggiunto un ombretto della linea Infinity Eyeshadow (€ 4,90) alla palette componibile 09 che possiedo. Ho scelto il colore n. 214, una tonalità nude con un leggero tocco di rosa ed un effetto matte. Mi piacciono molto gli ombretti di questo marchio perché hanno una forte pigmentazione e sono davvero poco costosi. In seguito ho acquistato il loro piegaciglia (€ 5,90) e trovo che faccia un ottimo lavoro con le mie ciglia. Infine ho preso il pennello per fondotinta n. 106 Round Foundation Brush (€ 12,90). Possiedo già altri pennelli di Kiko e hanno tutti una buona qualità, per cui sono certa che anche questo non mi deluderà.
