January favorites

Here we are with the first appointment of 2015 with my monthly beauty favorites. I can't believe January is already ending, I've been waiting so long for Christmas holidays and now they seems so far away. Let's just hope Spring will come soon!

The first product I've been loving this month is an hair care product and, in particular, a conditioner for blonde hair. I've already mention, in a couple of my previous posts, that I have started using the John Frieda Sheer Blond Go Blonder line and I'm very happy with it. However, when I run out of the conditioner form that line and I went to buy it again, it was out of stock, so I decided to replace ti with the John Frieda Sheer Blonde Highlight Activating Moisturizing Conditioner (€ 11,95). I have to say that I like this one better than the Go Blonder and I will probably buy the Shampoo from the same line once I finish the one I'm using now. It deeply hydrates my hair and a little bit goes a long way. My hair feels incredibly soft and luminous and my color looks much more alive.

Although I've been loving a lot my Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado, when I run out of it I went to the Kiehl's shop and asked for something a bit more powerful in terms of anti aging properties and the lady suggested me to try the Kiehl's Powerful Wrinkle Reducing Eye Cream (€ 37,50). The consistency of this eye cream, even if still quite rich, is less thick that the one with avocado. The result, however, is equally hydrating and smoothing. Moreover, this eye cream has a slightly lifting effect that makes a big improvement in the way my make up looks. I've been using it only for a couple of weeks, so I don't know if it's really able to reduce fine lines, however I've been liking it a lot so far.

Because of the cold weather, lately I've had the feeling that my skin wasn't receiving moisture enough, so I decided to buy an hydrating toner to use in the evening, after my cleanser. My choice came down to the Vitamin E Hydrating Toner form The Body Shop (€ 9,00), mainly because I've heard a lot of great things about the Vitamin E range from TBS and I wanted to try something from this line. I will go straight to the point and say it was love at first application. It feels so refreshing and hydrating and it makes my skin soft and supple, without being heavy or oily. Moreover, it contains antioxidants, which are very important in order to protect our skin from external agents. 

My last favorite is not new, on the contrary, it has been a favorite of mine for a long time and then, I don't know why, I forgot about it. It's the Benefit Dandelion blush (€ 33,50), a beautiful pale pink blush with a satin finish. Being a fair complexion girl, I find that the majority of pink blushers tend to make me look like either Heidi or a Barbie doll, and none of these effects is flattering. This Benefit blush, however, is the perfect shade of ballerina pink that suites beautifully lighter skin tones like mine. Moreover its satin, slightly highlighting finish brightens up my face for an immediate perk me up effect. I'm so happy I've decided to start using it again, it's definitely one of my favorite blushers ever.

Eccoci con il primo appuntamento dell'anno con il post dedicato ai miei preferiti del mese. Non mi sembra vero che Gennaio stia terminando, ho atteso così a lungo che arrivassero le vacanze natalizie ed ora che sono passate mi sembrano già lontanissime! Speriamo solo che la primavera non tardi ad arrivare! 

Il primo prodotto di cui voglio parlavi è un prodotto per la cura dei capelli, nello specifico, un balsamo per capelli biondi. Vi ho già detto, in un paio dei miei post precedenti, di aver iniziato ad usare la linea di prodotti Sheer Blonde Go Blonder di John Frieda e di esserne molto soddisfatta. Tuttavia, poiché l'ultima volta che mi sono recata ad acquistare il balsamo, i prodotti della linea Go Blonder erano terminati, ho deciso di ripiegare sul John Frieda Sheer Blonde Highlight Activating Moisturizing Conditioner (€ 11,95). Con mia grande sorpresa, devo ammettere che preferisco questo balsamo al precedente. Idrata in profondità i capelli e ne basta davvero una piccola quantità, anche su una chioma "impegnativa" come la mia. I capelli rimangono morbidissimi e luminosi e il biondo appare più sano e vibrante. 

Sebbene ami moltissimo la crema per il contorno occhi all'avocado di Kiehl's, dopo averla terminata mi sono recata nel loro negozio e ho chiesto qualcosa che avesse proprietà anti età un po' più forti. La signorina mi ha consigliato di provare la loro Powerful Wrinkle Reducing Eye Cream (€ 37,50) ed ho deciso di fidarmi. La consistenza di questa crema, seppur abbastanza ricca, è un po' meno densa della crema all'avocado, ma l'effetto è ugualmente idratante. Inoltre, trovo che questa crema abbia un maggior potere levigante, il che comporta un miglioramento visibile anche nell'applicazione del correttore. Avendo iniziato ad usarla da appena un paio di settimane, non posso ancora esprimermi in merito alla sua capacità di ridurre rughe e linee d'espressione, tuttavia per il momento mi ritengo molto soddisfatta. 

Con l'abbassarsi delle temperature, ho iniziato ad avere la sensazione che la mia pelle non stesse ricevendo idratazione a sufficienza, motivo per cui ho deciso di acquistare un tonico idratante da utilizzare la sera dopo la detersione. La mia scelta è ricaduta sul Tonico Idratante alla Vitamina E di The Body Shop (€ 9,00), soprattutto per via dei numerosi pareri positivi che ho avuto modo di leggere in merito a questa linea di TBS. Andrò dritta al punto e vi dirò che è stato amore a prima applicazione. Ha un effetto molto rinfrescante e idratante e lascia la pelle morbida e liscia, pur essendo molto leggero e delicato. Un'altra nota positiva è data dal fatto che contiene antiossidanti, importantissimi per proteggere la pelle da aggressioni esterne. 

Il mio ultimo prodotto preferito del mese non è una novità, anzi, è stato uno dei miei prodotti preferiti per moltissimo tempo e poi, per non so quale motivo, l'ho abbandonato. Si tratta del blush Dandelion di Benefit (€ 33,50), un bellissimo rosa chiaro dal finish satinato. Avendo avuto da madre natura il dono di una carnagione cadaverica molto chiara, ho sempre qualche problemino nel relazionarmi con i blush rosati: nella maggior parte dei casi, infatti, finisco per sembrare Heidi o Barbie, a seconda del tono di rosa, e, in entrambi i casi, vi garantisco che l'effetto non è particolarmente lusinghiero. Questo blush, invece, ha una tonalità di rosa ballerina molto delicato, perfetto per le pelli più chiare. Inoltre, il suo finish satinato e leggermente luminoso, ravviva istantaneamente il colorito, rendendo la pelle radiosa anche quando ha un aspetto spento e affaticato. Sono davvero felice di aver ricominciato ad usarlo, è senza dubbio uno dei miei blush preferiti di sempre.

In the last couple of months I've used up quite a few beauty products and I've been collecting them with the purpose of doing a little review of each one of them and telling you what I've liked and what I haven't liked.

First of all, I've finished both my John Frieda Sheer Blonde conditioner (€ 11,00) and Sheer Blonde shampoo (€ 11,00). If you follow my blog, you know I love this line, my hair feels so soft and clean every time I use them and my blonde has become more luminous and vibrant. I've already repurchased both of them!

Another product that has always been a favorite of mine and that I've already repurchased is the Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening toner (€ 20,00). It's an exfoliating toner that brightens, smooths and softens your skin. It does an amazing job in making dark spots less visible and in fighting blemishes and imperfections. It's supposed to be used a couple of nights a week, but, since it's so gentle, I've been using it 5-6 nights a week and my skin just loves it!

I've finally finished the Fotoprotector Isdin Ultra Fusion Fluid SPF 100+ (€ 26,10). This stuff has lasted me forever, it seemed like it was never going to end, which is a positive thing if you think of the price. It's a nice spf for combination skins because is very lightweight, however I won't by it again. I still prefer La Roche Posay's spf: they are less expensive and they protect not only against UVA but also against UVB (which the ISDIN spf doesn't). Moreover, there is no difference between spf 50 and every other higher spf factor, so I have gone back to my beloved LRP spf 50 +. 

A product that I've used up and I'm definitely going to buy again is the Lush "None of your beeswax" lip balm (€ 8,50). I love how it keeps my lips hydrated for long and I also like a lot the slightly shiny finish. Although I love the vanilla and lemon taste it has, I will probably try an other taste next time.

I've also used up my beloved Dior Rouge Dior Nude lipstick in the shade 459 Charnelle (€ 31,50), but, even though it's one of my favorite nude lipsticks, I'm not sure I'm going to buy it again any time soon. I love the fact that it's not drying on the lips and the shade, a pinky nude with a slightly peachy undertone, suites perfectly my complexion. However, there are a couple of Mac nude lipsticks that I want to try before going back to this Dior one.

Another empty product I've already repurchased is the Avene Cicalfate Repair Cream (€ 10,00). I've talked about it in my October favorites post, check it out for my review.

When it comes to eye creams, I'm always on the search for the perfect one. This summer I bought the Caudalie Polyphenol Anti-Wrinkle eye and lip cream (€ 26,00) and I loved it. It was lightweight but moisturizing enough for my under eye area. However, now that the weather is colder, I need something a bit reacher, so I won't buy it again, until, maybe, next summer.

The Clinique Airbrush Concealer (€ 22,50) has been on my wish list for so long that it's hard for me to admit that, now that I've bought it and used it up, I won't buy it again. It's a nice highlighting concealer, it doesn't give a tons of coverage, but I'm fine with that. The fact is that I find it very similar to the L'Oreal Lumi Magique highlighting pen, which is a bit cheaper and easier to apply. 

Another product from Clinique, which, this time, I have already repurchased is the Anti-Blemish Solutions Clearing Gel (€ 18,50). It's a great ally when it comes to fight occasional blemishes, I use it overnight and the morning after the imperfection is almost gone. 

Last, but not least, another old favorite of mine that I'm definitely going to buy again. It's the Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum (€ 45,50). I usually use it during summer, because it's light weight and it can be used under your sun block in order to achieve a flawless complexion. It makes my skin bright and smooth and my complexion looks a lot healthier every time I use it.

Negli ultimi mesi ho finalmente finito alcuni prodotti di bellezza che ho avuto modo di utilizzare e li ho conservati con l'intento di proporvi una breve recensione di ciascuno di essi, spiegano cosa mi è piaciuto e cosa no.

Per prima cosa, ho finito sia il balsamo che lo shampoo della linea Sheer Blonde di John Frieda (€ 11,00). Se mi seguite, saprete sicuramente quanto io ami questi due prodotti, ogni volta che li uso i miei capelli risultano morbidissimi e puliti e il mio biondo appare più luminoso e vibrante. Li ho già riacquistati entrambi!

Un altro prodotto che rappresenta un punto fermo nella mia routine di bellezza e che ho già riacquistato è il Tonico Esfoliante Delicato di Clarins (€ 20,00). Si tratta di una lozione esfoliante che illumina e leviga la pelle, lasciandola estremamente morbida e vellutata. Inoltre, la sua azione esfoliante aiuta a ridurre macchie ed imperfezioni. Dovrebbe essere utilizzato un paio di sere la settimana, ma, poiché risulta estremamente delicato, io lo utilizzo 5-6 sere la settimana. La mia pelle lo adora!

Ho poi finalmente finito la protezione solare Fotoprotector Isdin Ultra Fusion Fluid SPF 100+ (€ 26,10). Questa crema mi è durata un'eternità, sembrava non avere mai fine (il che non è poi così male se si pensa al prezzo)! E' una buona protezione solare per le pelli miste, poiché risulta estremamente leggera sulla pelle, tuttavia non ho intenzione di riacquistarla. Continuo, infatti, a preferire le protezioni solari di La Roche Posay: non solo sono meno costose, ma proteggono sia contro gli UVA che contro gli UVB (cosa che la ISDIN non fa). Inoltre è dimostrato che non esiste protezione solare più alta da quella fornita dal fattore 50, motivo per cui sono tornata alla mia adorata LRP spf 50+. 

Un prodotto che ho finito e che sicuramente ricomprerò è il balsamo labbra di Lush "Usami" (€ 8,50). Lascia le mie labbra idratate a lungo e dona loro un leggero finish luminoso che mi piace molto. Pur avendo amato il gusto vaniglia e limone di questo balsamo, probabilmente la prossima volta ne proverò uno con un gusto differente. 

Il mio rossetto color nudo preferito è il Dior Rouge Nude nella tonalità n. 459 "Charnelle" (€ 31,50), tuttavia, ora che è terminato non sono certa che lo riacquisterò a breve. Adoro il fatto che non secchi le labbra e la sua tonalità rosa naturale con un leggero sottotono pesca è perfetta per la mia carnagione. Prima di ricomprarlo, però, ci sono una paio di rossetti color nudo di Mac che vorrei provare.

Un altro prodotto finito che ho già riacquistato è la crema riparatrice Cicalfate di Avene (€ 10,00). Ne ho parlato approfonditamente nel mio post sui preferiti di Ottobre, dategli un'occhiata per una review dettagliata.

Quando si tratta di creme contorno occhi, sono sempre alla ricerca di quella perfetta. Quest'estate ho acquistato la Caudalie Polyphenol Anti-Wrinkle eye and lip cream (€ 26,00), e mi sono trovata molto bene. E' leggera sulla pelle ma sufficientemente idratante per il mio contorno occhi. Tuttavia, ora che il clima si fa più rigido, ho bisogno di una crema più ricca, motivo per cui non la riacquisterò fino, forse, alla prossima estate.

Il correttore in penna Airbrush di Clinique (€ 22,50) è stato nella mia wish list così a lungo che, ora che l'ho acquistato e terminato, faccio un po' fatica ad ammettere che molto probabilmente non lo ricomprerò più. E' un buon correttore illuminante, non è molto coprente, ma la cosa mi sta bene. Il fatto è che lo trovo molto simile al Lumi Magique di L'Oreal, che preferisco a quello di Clinique perché meno costoso e più facile da applicare.

Un altro prodotto di Clinique che, invece, ho riacquistato è l'Anti-Blemish Solutions Clearing Gel (€ 18,50), un formidabile alleato nella lotta contro occasionali eruzioni cutanee. Lo applico la notte e la mattina seguente l'imperfezione è già quasi scomparsa. 

Per finire, un altro dei miei preferiti di sempre, che sicuramente riacquisterò. Sto parlando del siero illuminante anti macchie di Caudalie (€ 45,50). Normalmente lo uso d'estate perché è molto leggero e può essere usato sotto la protezione solare per ottenere un'abbronzatura più uniforme. Rende la mia pelle molto morbida e luminosa e ogni volta che lo utilizzo noto come il mio incarnato appaia decisamente più sano e radioso.

October favorites

October is one of my favorite months of the year, but I'm quite happy it's ending because it means that Christmas is coming!! Yeah, I know, it's a bit early but I love Christmas time, I can't wait for December! 

Anyway, as usual I have some beauty favorites to show you.

I'm going to start with the only make up product I've chosen for this post. It's not a new discover, as a matter of fact it has always been a favorite of mine, but it's been a while since the last time I bought it. It's the Bare Mineral Mineral Veil loose powder (€ 26,50). This is honestly the best powder I've ever tried, I don't even know why I stopped using it. Now that I have bought it again I can definitely tell I'm never going to quit it again. It keeps my make up in place all day long, it makes my skin smooth and poreless without looking cakey and it doesn't alterate the shade of my foundation. Honestly, what more could I ask for? 

In a couple of my previous posts I've talked about my love for the John Frieda Sheer Blonde Conditioner, and I've mentioned that I was probably going to buy the shampoo (€ 11,00) from the same line. I did, and I love it as well. Like the conditioner, it smells like chamomile and it leaves my hair very clean and soft. Using both the shampoo and the conditioner I've started to notice that my blonde is more luminous and it doesn't become dull or yellowish. Awesome!

My favorite face moisturizer of the month has to be the Avene Cicalfate repair cream (€ 10,00). It's a regenerating and soothing moisturizer aimed to problematic and sensitive skins. I've stared using it this spring when my skin was breaking out and it helped me a lot in the healing process. This Summer I stopped using it because it was too rich for my combination skin, but now that the weather is colder I started using it again as a night cream and my skin literally loves it! It's rich but not heavy or greasy, it adsorbs quickly and leaves the skin incredibly soft. Moreover, it does an amazing job in calming down my skin every time I have some rednesses, inflammations or dry patches. 

My favorite body moisturizer, instead, is a new discovery for me: it's The Body Shop Cocoa Butter body butter (€ 15,00). I don't even know where to start to describe how amazing this product is. The cocoa scent it has is so amazing I can't stop smell it, it's like a drug. Moreover, it feels so nice on the skin, it gives deep moisture and leaves the skin so soft and smooth. My skin is not particularly dry, but in the colder months I like rich moisturizers and this one is probably one of the best I've ever tried.

Ottobre è un dei mesi dell'anno che preferisco, tuttavia non nascondo che il fatto che sia giunto al termine non mi rattristi affatto, poiché significa che siamo più vicini al Natale! Sì, lo so, è ancora presto, ma adoro l'atmosfera natalizia, non vedo l'ora che sia Dicembre!

Ora, però, bando alle ciance, ho i miei preferiti del mese da mostrarvi.

Voglio iniziare con l'unico prodotto di make up che ho scelto questo mese. Non si tratta di una nuova scoperta per me, anzi, a dire il vero è sempre stato uno dei miei prodotti preferiti, tuttavia era passato un po' di tempo dall'ultima volta che lo avevo utilizzato. Si tratta della cipria in polvere libera Mineral Veil di Bare Minerals (€ 26,50). E' senza dubbio la cipria migliore che abbia mai provato, non so nemmeno perché abbia smesso di usarla. Ora che l'ho riacquistata posso dire con certezza che non me ne separerò mai più! Fissa il trucco tutto il giorno, dona alla pelle un aspetto vellutato privo di imperfezioni senza, tuttavia, risultare pesante, e non altera il colore del fondotinta. In tutta onestà, cosa potrei mai volere di più da una cipria?

In un paio dei miei post precedenti vi ho parlato di quanto fossi soddisfatta del mio nuovo balsamo per capelli, il Sheer Blonde di John Frieda, ed ho accennato alla mia intenzione di acquistare lo shampoo (€ 11,00) della stessa linea. Bene, l'ho fatto e lo adoro. Come il balsamo, ha un buonissimo profumo di camomilla e lascia i miei capelli molto puliti e morbidi. Usando entrambi i prodotti della linea, ho iniziato a notare che i il biondo dei miei capelli è più lucente e non tende a diventare spento o giallognolo. Fantastico. 

La mia crema viso preferita del mese non poteva che essere Cicalfate di Avene (€ 10,00). Si tratta di una crema idratante con proprietà rigeneranti e lenitive, pensata per pelli problematiche e sensibili. Ho iniziato ad utilizzarla, su consiglio del mio dermatologo, questa primavera, quando la mia pelle era molto infiammata ed è stata un validissimo aiuto nell'accelerare il processo di guarigione. Durante l'estate l'ho abbandonata perché troppo ricca per la mia pelle mista, ma, ora che le temperature si sono abbassate, ho ripreso ad utilizzarla come crema per la notte e la mia pelle la adora. Pur essendo abbastanza ricca, non risulta grassa o pesante, si assorbe rapidamente e lascia la pelle morbidissima. Inoltre, è un portento nel combattere rossori, infiammazioni e secchezza. 

La mia crema corpo preferita del momento, invece, è il burro corpo al Burro di Cacao di The Body Shop (€ 15,00). Non so nemmeno da dove cominciare a descrivervi quanto sia straordinario questo prodotto. Probabilmente è bene iniziare dal profumo di cacao: credetemi se vi dico che è una droga, non riesco davvero a smettere di annusarlo. Inoltre lascia la pelle estremamente morbida e idratata in profondità. La mia pelle non è particolarmente secca, tuttavia d'inverno mi piace utilizzare creme corpo abbastanza ricche e questa è decisamente una delle migliori che abbia mai provato.

Recentemente ho fatto alcuni nuovi acquisti che desideravo mostrarvi. Ho pensato che il modo migliore per farlo fosse tramite un video, per cui, eccolo qui! Spero vi piaccia!

Here's a roundup of some of the beauty products that I'm loving in this middle Summer time. 

The first is the base that I'm reaching for the most lately, and it's the La Roche Posay Rosaliac CC Creme (€ 21,20). I love it because is extremely light weigh on the skin, it just gives a bit of color and homogeneity to the complexion, but it still let the skin showing through. It's the perfect base for the Summer hot weather. The finish is quite natural, not glowing but not matte either, and the lasting powers is pretty good.

I have to say that my skin is doing pretty well lately, so I don't need any harsh treatment for blemishes or inflammations. However, because of the Summer humidity, sometimes some sporadic little blemishes try to make an appearance on my skin. In this case, I rely on the Clinique Anti-blemish Solutions Clearing Gel (€ 17,00). Even if it can be used also in the morning, even under you make up, and can be applied all over your face, I prefer using it only as a night treatment and I apply it in localized areas. It has a gel consistency that turns into a more dry feeling after the application, but I don't find it to be too harsh or drying. I don't know if it works against acne or serious breakouts, but it's really good in fighting minor blemishes and spots.

The last two products are both haircare products. The first one is the John Frieda Sheer Blonde conditioner (€ 11,00). There is also a Sheer Blonde Shampoo and, since I'm liking the conditioner so much, I would probably buy that one too. It's targeted to blonde hair and it contains camomile and citrus extracts, which are supposed to progressively make the hair blonder. I don't know if it works in that sense because I've used only a couple of times and, anyway, I should probably use the shampoo too, but I can say that as a conditioner it works great. It makes my hair super soft and shiny and easy to brush. 

The other haircare product is the L'Oreal Professionnel Lumino Contrast spray (€ 13,35), a biphasic spray that has a double action: it protects against the heat of the hairdryer and, at the same time, it makes your hair luminous and shiny. I apply it on dumb hair, but it can also be applied on dry hair; it's very light, so it doesn't make the hair heavy or oily. I like the fact that my hair is protected and I love how shiny it is after I use it!

Ecco una selezione di alcuni dei prodotti che sto amando maggiormente in queste giornate di metà estate.

Il primo è la base viso che sto utilizzando con più frequenza da qualche tempo a questa parte. Si tratta della Rosaliac CC Creme di La Roche Posay (€ 21,20). Mi piace perché è estremamente leggera sulla pelle, dona semplicemente un po' di colore e omogeneità all'incarnato, lasciando, tuttavia, visibile la pelle del viso. Trovo che sia la base perfetta per affrontare il caldo estivo. Il finish è decisamente naturale, non luminoso ma nemmeno opaco, e la tenuta è molto buona.

Devo dire che la mia pelle si sta comportando molto bene ultimamente, per cui non ho bisogno di utilizzare trattamenti intensivi contro imperfezioni ed infiammazioni. Tuttavia, a causa dell'umidità tipica del periodo estivo, qualche piccolo brufoletto ogni tanto tenta di farsi strada sulla mia faccia; in questo caso, mi affido al Clinique Anti-blemish Solutions Clearing Gel (€ 17,00). Nonostante possa essere utilizzando due volte al giorno, anche sotto al make up, e si possa tranquillamente applicare su tutto il viso, io preferisco utilizzarlo come trattamento serale ed applicarlo solo su aree localizzate. La sua texture in gel si trasforma in una consistenza più secca una volta applicato. ma non trovo affatto che sia troppo aggressivo o che tenda a seccare la pelle. Non so come si possa comportare in caso di acne o di gravi eruzioni cutanee, tuttavia, nel caso di sporadici brufoletti funziona alla grande.

Gli ultimi due prodotti sono entrambi prodotti per la cura dei capelli. Il primo è il balsamo della linea Sheer Blonde di John  Frieda (€ 11,00). Esiste anche lo shampoo della stessa linea e, considerando che il balsamo mi sta piacendo molto, probabilmente acquisterò a breve anche questo. Ovviamente, si tratta di una linea pensata per i capelli biondi e il balsamo contiene camomilla ed estratti di agrumi, che dovrebbero progressivamente rendere il colore dei capelli più chiaro. Da questo punto di vista non posso esprimermi poiché l'ho usato solo un paio di volte e, in ogni caso, penso che dovrei usare l'intera linea per vedere risultati, tuttavia come balsamo fa il suo lavoro egregiamente. Rende i miei capelli morbidi e luminosi e districa magnificamente tutti i nodi.

L'altro prodotto di cura dei capelli è lo spray Lumino Contrast di L'Oreal Professionnel (€ 13,35), uno spray bifasico che svolge una doppia azione: protegge i capelli dal calore dell'asciugacapelli e, allo stesso tempo, rende i capelli brillanti e luminosi. Io lo applico sui capelli umidi, ma può tranquillamente essere usato sui capelli asciutti, poiché, essendo molto leggero, non li appesantisce e non li rende oleosi. Mi piace il fatto di sapere che i miei capelli sono protetti e adoro la lucentezza che hanno quando uso questo spray.
