Drugstore haul & reviews

I confess, I'm not a fan of drugstore make up, I always tend to prefer high end products, even if I'm aware of the fact that the quality of a product is not always proportioned to its price. That is exactly why I decided to buy some "low cost" make up and I want to share with you my thoughts about them.

The first item I want to talk about is the Maybelline Instant Anti-Age concealer (€ 8,95). This product always receives great reviews by beauty bloggers, so my expectations where quite high. I have to say that, although I think it's a good product, I'm not overly impressed by it. In Italy it comes in only two shades and the lightest one is a bit dark for me. The coverage is quite sheer, but it's not a problem for me, and I like the fact that it doesn't crease. However I prefer an under eye concealer with a more brightening effect.

Another product from Maybelline that I've been wanting to try for ages because of the great reviews it receives is The Rocket Volume Express mascara (€ 9,90). You know me, I love volumizing mascaras and my favorite one is the Dior Extase, which, however, is a bit expensive. I was hoping that this one would have been a cheaper alternative, but I was very disappointed. Honestly, I don't see any volumizing effect. I like the fact that it separates the lushes and it doesn't look clumpy, but in terms of volume it doesn't to anything. Moreover, I find it very hard to remove, even with make up removers for waterproof make up. I won't buy it again.

Another drugstore brand I wanted to try was Rimmel. The first product I picked up was the Stay Matte Powder (€ 7,50). I have combination skin and my t-zone tends to get a bit oily during the day, so I always need to apply a bit of powder. My favorite is the Mineral Veil by Mare Minerals, it does everything I need form a powder and it doesn't contain nasty ingredients, which is a great plus for me, since I have sensitive skin. Of course, the INCI of this Rimmel powder is not as clean, so I wouldn't use it every day, however I have to say I really like it. It feels very light on the skin and it gives a beautiful smoothing effect. It keeps my make up matte for almost all day and it doesn't alterate the color of my foundation. I have the shade "001 transparent", which is the lightest and it's perfect for my skin tone. I'm very impressed!

The other Rimmel item I picked up is the Lasting Finish Colour Rush (€ 9,99) in the shade "700 not an illusion". It's a long lasting tinted lip balm with a very good color payoff. It combines the hydration of a lip balm with the color intensity of a lipstick and it also has a very good staying power. The shade I choose is a peachy brown that can look very natural or can be built into a more intense shade. The finish is quite glossy but it doesn't contain any shimmer or iridescent. I love it.

The last product I wanted to give a go to is the L'Oreal True Match foundation (€ 16,50). I was a bit afraid to try it because, in my teens, I've used a L'Oreal foundation that broke me out and since than I've never used a drugstore foundation again. However, since a lot of people love this product, I thought it couldn't be that bad. I haven't worn it regularly, but form what I've been able so see, it's a very good base. The coverage is medium and the finish it extremely natural. It doesn't feel heavy on the skin and it has a good staying power. The shade I'm using is "N2 Vanilla", which is not bad but it's a bit too beige for a yellow skin toned like mine. Overall, I wouldn't use it every day because I'm still afraid to have some sort of reaction, but from time to time I think it could be a good alternative to my other foundations!

Lo confesso, non sono una grande amante dei marchi cosmetici a basso prezzo, tendo, infatti, sempre ad acquistare prodotti appartenenti a fasce di prezzo più elevate, sebbene sia consapevole del fatto che prezzo alto non sempre si traduca in qualità alta. Proprio per questo motivo, ho deciso di provare alcuni trucchi "low-cost" e vorrei condividere con voi il mio parere su ciascuno di loro. 

Il primo prodotto di cui voglio parlarvi è il correttore CancellaEtà di Maybelline ( € 8,95). Questo correttore ottiene sempre recensioni molto positive dalle beauty bloggers, per cui le mie aspettative erano abbastanza alte. Sebbene trovi che sia un buon prodotto, non mi ha lasciato particolarmente impressionata. Il problema principale credo stia nel fatto che in Italia è disponibile in solo due tonalità e la più chiara è comunque leggermente scura per me. La coprenza non è delle più alte, ma per me va benissimo, e mi piace il fatto che non si infili nelle righe d'espressione. Tuttavia, per le occhiaie preferisco correttori con un effetto leggermente più illuminante.

Un altro prodotto di Maybelline che ho voluto provare per via delle recensioni positive che ha ottenuto sul web, è il mascara The Rocket Volume Express (€ 9,90). Mi conoscete, adoro i mascara volumizzanti ed il mio preferito resta il Dior Extase, che però è abbastanza costoso. Speravo, pertanto, di trovare in questo prodotto di Maybelline un'alternativa più economica, ma mi sbagliavo. Mi piace il fatto che separi le ciglia e non risulti grumoso, ma, in termini di volume, non fa assolutamente nulla. Inoltre, trovo che sia molto difficile da rimuovere, anche utilizzando struccanti per trucchi waterproof. Non penso proprio che lo riacquisterò in futuro.

Un'altra marca di trucchi che ho voluto testare è Rimmel e, in particolare, ho voluto provare per prima cosa la cipria Stay Matte (€ 7,50). Avendo una pelle mista con la zona T che tende a lucidarsi nell'arco della giornata, ho spesso bisogno di ricorrere ad un po' di cipria e la mia preferita è la Mineral Veil di Bare Minerals: non solo fa tutto ciò che mi aspetto da un ciarpa, ma ha anche il vantaggio di non contenere ingredienti particolarmente dannosi, il che è una cosa ottima per la mia pelle sensibile. La cipria di Rimmel, ovviamente, non vanta un INCI altrettanto pulito, per cui non è un prodotto che userei su base quotidiana, però devo dire che non è affatto male. Non appesantisce la pelle e le dona un bellissimo effetto levigato. Inoltre, mantiene il trucco opacizzato per molte ore e non altera il colore del fondotinta. Io possiedo la tonalità più chiara "001 transparent" ed è perfetta per la mia carnagione. Sono davvero colpita.

L'altro prodotto di Rimmel che ho acquistato è il Lasting Finish Colour Rush (€ 9,99) nella tonalità "700 not an illusion". E' un balsamo labbra colorato con una buonissima resa di color. In sostanza, abbina la caratteristica idratante dei balsami labbra con l'intensità e la durata di un rossetto. La tonalità che ho scelto è un marrone-pesca che può risultare molto naturale, ma può anche essere facilmente intensificato per un look più deciso. Il finish è abbastanza lucido, ma non contiene traccia di particelle iridescenti. Lo adoro.

Infine, ho deciso di provare il fondotinta L'Oreal Accord Parfait (€ 16,50). Ero un po' titubante all'inizio perché da adolescente ho utilizzato un fondotinta di L'Oreal che ha irritato molto la mia pelle e da allora non ho mai più voluto provare un fondotinta a basso costo. Questo di L'Oreal, però, pare essere molto apprezzato, per cui ho voluto dargli una possibilità. Pur non avendolo usato con continuità, posso dire che l'impressione generale che ho avuto è molto buona. Si tratta di un fondotinta con una coprenza media e un finish molto naturale. Non appesantisce la pelle e dura abbastanza a lungo senza lucidarsi. La tonalità che ho acquistato è "N2 - Vanille" che, pur adattandosi abbastanza bene alla mia carnagione, tende leggermente al beige, mentre, di solito, preferisco un sottotono più giallo. Nel complesso, sebbene non lo utilizzerei su base quotidiana poiché ho ancora paura che possa causare qualche irritazione alla mia pelle, trovo che sia un buon prodotto da usare di tanto in tanto.

In the last couple of months I've used up quite a few beauty products and I've been collecting them with the purpose of doing a little review of each one of them and telling you what I've liked and what I haven't liked.

First of all, I've finished both my John Frieda Sheer Blonde conditioner (€ 11,00) and Sheer Blonde shampoo (€ 11,00). If you follow my blog, you know I love this line, my hair feels so soft and clean every time I use them and my blonde has become more luminous and vibrant. I've already repurchased both of them!

Another product that has always been a favorite of mine and that I've already repurchased is the Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening toner (€ 20,00). It's an exfoliating toner that brightens, smooths and softens your skin. It does an amazing job in making dark spots less visible and in fighting blemishes and imperfections. It's supposed to be used a couple of nights a week, but, since it's so gentle, I've been using it 5-6 nights a week and my skin just loves it!

I've finally finished the Fotoprotector Isdin Ultra Fusion Fluid SPF 100+ (€ 26,10). This stuff has lasted me forever, it seemed like it was never going to end, which is a positive thing if you think of the price. It's a nice spf for combination skins because is very lightweight, however I won't by it again. I still prefer La Roche Posay's spf: they are less expensive and they protect not only against UVA but also against UVB (which the ISDIN spf doesn't). Moreover, there is no difference between spf 50 and every other higher spf factor, so I have gone back to my beloved LRP spf 50 +. 

A product that I've used up and I'm definitely going to buy again is the Lush "None of your beeswax" lip balm (€ 8,50). I love how it keeps my lips hydrated for long and I also like a lot the slightly shiny finish. Although I love the vanilla and lemon taste it has, I will probably try an other taste next time.

I've also used up my beloved Dior Rouge Dior Nude lipstick in the shade 459 Charnelle (€ 31,50), but, even though it's one of my favorite nude lipsticks, I'm not sure I'm going to buy it again any time soon. I love the fact that it's not drying on the lips and the shade, a pinky nude with a slightly peachy undertone, suites perfectly my complexion. However, there are a couple of Mac nude lipsticks that I want to try before going back to this Dior one.

Another empty product I've already repurchased is the Avene Cicalfate Repair Cream (€ 10,00). I've talked about it in my October favorites post, check it out for my review.

When it comes to eye creams, I'm always on the search for the perfect one. This summer I bought the Caudalie Polyphenol Anti-Wrinkle eye and lip cream (€ 26,00) and I loved it. It was lightweight but moisturizing enough for my under eye area. However, now that the weather is colder, I need something a bit reacher, so I won't buy it again, until, maybe, next summer.

The Clinique Airbrush Concealer (€ 22,50) has been on my wish list for so long that it's hard for me to admit that, now that I've bought it and used it up, I won't buy it again. It's a nice highlighting concealer, it doesn't give a tons of coverage, but I'm fine with that. The fact is that I find it very similar to the L'Oreal Lumi Magique highlighting pen, which is a bit cheaper and easier to apply. 

Another product from Clinique, which, this time, I have already repurchased is the Anti-Blemish Solutions Clearing Gel (€ 18,50). It's a great ally when it comes to fight occasional blemishes, I use it overnight and the morning after the imperfection is almost gone. 

Last, but not least, another old favorite of mine that I'm definitely going to buy again. It's the Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum (€ 45,50). I usually use it during summer, because it's light weight and it can be used under your sun block in order to achieve a flawless complexion. It makes my skin bright and smooth and my complexion looks a lot healthier every time I use it.

Negli ultimi mesi ho finalmente finito alcuni prodotti di bellezza che ho avuto modo di utilizzare e li ho conservati con l'intento di proporvi una breve recensione di ciascuno di essi, spiegano cosa mi è piaciuto e cosa no.

Per prima cosa, ho finito sia il balsamo che lo shampoo della linea Sheer Blonde di John Frieda (€ 11,00). Se mi seguite, saprete sicuramente quanto io ami questi due prodotti, ogni volta che li uso i miei capelli risultano morbidissimi e puliti e il mio biondo appare più luminoso e vibrante. Li ho già riacquistati entrambi!

Un altro prodotto che rappresenta un punto fermo nella mia routine di bellezza e che ho già riacquistato è il Tonico Esfoliante Delicato di Clarins (€ 20,00). Si tratta di una lozione esfoliante che illumina e leviga la pelle, lasciandola estremamente morbida e vellutata. Inoltre, la sua azione esfoliante aiuta a ridurre macchie ed imperfezioni. Dovrebbe essere utilizzato un paio di sere la settimana, ma, poiché risulta estremamente delicato, io lo utilizzo 5-6 sere la settimana. La mia pelle lo adora!

Ho poi finalmente finito la protezione solare Fotoprotector Isdin Ultra Fusion Fluid SPF 100+ (€ 26,10). Questa crema mi è durata un'eternità, sembrava non avere mai fine (il che non è poi così male se si pensa al prezzo)! E' una buona protezione solare per le pelli miste, poiché risulta estremamente leggera sulla pelle, tuttavia non ho intenzione di riacquistarla. Continuo, infatti, a preferire le protezioni solari di La Roche Posay: non solo sono meno costose, ma proteggono sia contro gli UVA che contro gli UVB (cosa che la ISDIN non fa). Inoltre è dimostrato che non esiste protezione solare più alta da quella fornita dal fattore 50, motivo per cui sono tornata alla mia adorata LRP spf 50+. 

Un prodotto che ho finito e che sicuramente ricomprerò è il balsamo labbra di Lush "Usami" (€ 8,50). Lascia le mie labbra idratate a lungo e dona loro un leggero finish luminoso che mi piace molto. Pur avendo amato il gusto vaniglia e limone di questo balsamo, probabilmente la prossima volta ne proverò uno con un gusto differente. 

Il mio rossetto color nudo preferito è il Dior Rouge Nude nella tonalità n. 459 "Charnelle" (€ 31,50), tuttavia, ora che è terminato non sono certa che lo riacquisterò a breve. Adoro il fatto che non secchi le labbra e la sua tonalità rosa naturale con un leggero sottotono pesca è perfetta per la mia carnagione. Prima di ricomprarlo, però, ci sono una paio di rossetti color nudo di Mac che vorrei provare.

Un altro prodotto finito che ho già riacquistato è la crema riparatrice Cicalfate di Avene (€ 10,00). Ne ho parlato approfonditamente nel mio post sui preferiti di Ottobre, dategli un'occhiata per una review dettagliata.

Quando si tratta di creme contorno occhi, sono sempre alla ricerca di quella perfetta. Quest'estate ho acquistato la Caudalie Polyphenol Anti-Wrinkle eye and lip cream (€ 26,00), e mi sono trovata molto bene. E' leggera sulla pelle ma sufficientemente idratante per il mio contorno occhi. Tuttavia, ora che il clima si fa più rigido, ho bisogno di una crema più ricca, motivo per cui non la riacquisterò fino, forse, alla prossima estate.

Il correttore in penna Airbrush di Clinique (€ 22,50) è stato nella mia wish list così a lungo che, ora che l'ho acquistato e terminato, faccio un po' fatica ad ammettere che molto probabilmente non lo ricomprerò più. E' un buon correttore illuminante, non è molto coprente, ma la cosa mi sta bene. Il fatto è che lo trovo molto simile al Lumi Magique di L'Oreal, che preferisco a quello di Clinique perché meno costoso e più facile da applicare.

Un altro prodotto di Clinique che, invece, ho riacquistato è l'Anti-Blemish Solutions Clearing Gel (€ 18,50), un formidabile alleato nella lotta contro occasionali eruzioni cutanee. Lo applico la notte e la mattina seguente l'imperfezione è già quasi scomparsa. 

Per finire, un altro dei miei preferiti di sempre, che sicuramente riacquisterò. Sto parlando del siero illuminante anti macchie di Caudalie (€ 45,50). Normalmente lo uso d'estate perché è molto leggero e può essere usato sotto la protezione solare per ottenere un'abbronzatura più uniforme. Rende la mia pelle molto morbida e luminosa e ogni volta che lo utilizzo noto come il mio incarnato appaia decisamente più sano e radioso.

July favorites

It's the end of July and that means that holidays are close, which makes me very happy. As you know, it's also time to show you the products I've loved the most during this month.

The first one is a skincare product that I have bought a while ago but I've started to use it regularly only recently. It's the Ren Clarimatte Invisible Pores Detox Mask (€ 29,50), a clay mask that is supposed to reduce the appearance of pores and purify the skin. It's not a miracle worker, but if you give it time, you can definitely see some improvements in your skin. What I like the most about it it's the fact that, while the majority of purifying masks can be a little harsh, this one is very gentle and doesn't dry out my skin, which is good, considering that my skin has been super sensitive lately.

If you don't know yet, I'm obsessed with lip balms. My lips tend to get very dry and I always have to relay on some good lips moisturizing product in order to keep them soft and hydrated. Lately I've been in love with The Body Shop Aloe Lip Care (€ 9,00), it keeps my lips smooth and moisturized for long, every time I apply it before I go to bed, the morning after it's still on  my lips! And I also really like it's luminous finish!

This month my love for the Lush Daddy-O shampoo (€ 7,50) (I've talked about it in this post) has grown out of all proportions. I am obsessed with it. Not only I love the violet smell it has, but I really like how soft and clean it lives my hair. It also does a great job in keeping my blond hair from becoming dull or too yellowish. 

As far as make up, this month I've rediscovered my Benefit Rockateur blush (€ 33,50). I've bought it before Christmas and, even if I liked it, I didn't use it that much during winter time. Now, however, I've started using it again and I love it. I think it's perfect for summertime, it's a rose gold with a nice worm undertone and a slightly shimmering finish. Once applied on the skin, it turns into a sort of bronzy pink color, which emphasizes very well the sun kissed summer glow of the skin.

Another make up product I've been appreciating a lot is the Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow from Kiko (€ 6,90) in the shade 07, a beautiful shimmering champaign color. Like its name suggests, it's very long lasting and it's also no transfer. Sometimes I use it on its own on my eyelids and sometimes I apply it above other eyeshadows, in order to brighten them. You can also use it on the inner corner of your eyes as an highlighter. And it's super easy to apply! Lovely!

Siamo alla fine di Luglio, il che significa che le vacanze estive si avvicinano, cosa che mi rende ovviamente molto felice. Significa anche che è giunto il momento dell'appuntamento con i miei prodotti preferiti del mese.

Il primo è un prodotto di cura della pelle che ho acquistato un po' di tempo fa, ma che ho iniziato ad utilizzare con regolarità solo recentemente. Si tratta della maschera purificante delle linea Clarimatte di Ren (€ 29,50), una maschera a base d'argilla che ha lo scopo di ridurre l'aspetto dei pori e purificare la pelle dalle impurità. Non è un prodotto miracoloso, ma se gli si concede del tempo, i miglioramenti della pelle sono sicuramente visibili. Inoltre, apprezzo molto il fatto che, a differenza della maggior parte delle maschere purificanti, che tendono ad essere un po' aggressive, questa è estremamente delicata, cosa molto positiva, considerando il fatto che la mia  pelle, in quest'ultimo mese, è diventata diventata particolarmente sensibile.

Qualora ancora non lo sapeste, ho un'ossessione per i balsami labbra. Le mie labbra tendono a seccarsi molto, motivo per cui ho sempre bisogno di affidarmi ad un buon balsamo idratante. Ultimamente sto adorando il trattamento labbra all'aloe di The Body Shop (€ 9,00), mantiene le mie labbra morbide ed idratate a lungo e quando lo applico la sera prima di coricarmi, la mattina seguente le labbra sono ancora morbidissime come se l'avessi appena applicato. Inoltre, mi piace moltissimo il suo finish luminoso!

Durante questo ultimo mese il mio amore per lo shampoo Dorian Gray di Lush (€ 7,90) (ne ho parlato in questo post) è cresciuto a dismisura. Ne sono letteralmente ossessionata. Non solo adoro il suo profumo di violetta, ma trovo che lasci i miei capelli incredibilmente morbidi e puliti, oltre al fatto che fa davvero un buon lavoro nel preservare il biondo, impedendo che si ingiallisca i diventi spento. 

Per quanto riguarda il make up, questo mese ho avuto modo di riscoprire il blush Rockateur di Benefit (€ 33,50). L'ho acquistato prima di Natale, ma, sebbene mi piacesse molto, non l'ho utilizzato spesso durante l'interno. Ora, invece, non posso farne a meno. Trovo che sia il colore perfetto per l'estate, un rosa dorato con sottotono caldo ed un finish leggermente brillante. Una volta applicato, vira verso un bronzo rosato che enfatizza benissimo il colore naturale della pelle abbronzata.

Un altro cosmetico che sto apprezzando molto è il Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow di Kiko (€ 6,90) nella tonalità 07, un bellissimo color champagne luminoso. Come il nome suggerisce, si tratta di un ombretto in stick a lunga durata e no transfer. A volte lo applico da solo sulla palpebra, altre volte, invece, mi piace stenderlo sopra altri ombretti per renderli più luminosi. Inoltre, può anche essere utilizzato come illuminante nell'angolo interno degli occhi. Per non parlare della facilità con cui si applica. Fantastico!

Lush haul

Ok, I'm having a Lush thing right now...you know when you get into a particular brand and you keep buying products from that brand even if you don't really need them? It happens to you too, right? I don't know why in this period I'm obsessed with Lush. I've always liked this brand but I've never bought more than one or two of their products. In the last couple of week, however, I've started collecting things form Lush and I'm loving them all, so I would like to talk to you about them.

I'm going to start with a couple of old favorites of mine. The first is the Tea Tree Water (€ 10,95), a toner that is always present in my skincare routine. I'm sure I've already talked about it in a couple of my previous posts, so I'm going straight to the point: it refreshes and mattify my skin and the tea tree oil it contains helps fighting breakouts and inflammations. It's perfect for combination to oily skin. I will always repurchase it.

The second is Shine so Bright (€ 8,50), a hair product with a balm consistency that is aimed to fight split ends and to improve their strength. I've already talked about this product too, so click here for a complete review. This is another of the products I always have in my beauty collection. 

A product that has been a rediscover, instead, is the Sea Spray (€ 17,50), a hair mist that is supposed to give volume and texture to your hair. I wasn't a fan of it at first, my hair is very long and straight and it is not able to add volume to them on its own. However, if I use it when I curl my hair or in combination with my Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray, it helps to keep my hair in place and it adds a bit of texture and shine. It's lovely.

My recent obsession is the Daddy-O (€ 7,50), a purple shampoo for blonde and gray (but not only) hair. It brightens the color of your hair, neutralizing dull tones that often affects blonde colored hair like mine. I love the violet smell it has, I can feel it on my hair even after a couple of days I've washed it. I've used it only a couple of time and my hair already seems healthier. 

When I've finished my Nuxe Reve de Miel lip balm, I decided to by a Lush lip balm. I love the Nuxe one, but I'm not a fan of its matte finish. I choose None of Your Beeswax (€ 7,50), a softening vegan lip balm with citrus and vanilla smell. I'm completely sold by this product: not only I love the smell, but it is super hydrating and it leaves a nice luminous finish on my lips that lasts forever. 

The last products was a total impulsive purchased. It's the African Paradise body balm (€ 29,95), an hydrating body conditioner with spicy and floral scent that is supposed to be used under the shower, like an hair conditioner, but for the body. You apply it on wet skin and then wash it off. I haven't used it yet, but I've tried it on my hand while I was in the shop, and, after I rinsed it off, it left my skin super soft. I loved the smell, too. Can't wait to try it all over my body!

What do you think about Lush?

Avete presente quando, per qualche oscura ragione, andate in fissa per un particolare brand ed iniziate a comprare prodotti di questo brand in modo compulsivo, anche se in realtà non vi servono affatto? Capita anche a voi, vero? Ebbene, a me sta succedendo in questo periodo con Lush. E' un brand che mi è sempre piaciuto e mi è spesso capitato di acquistare uno o due dei loro prodotti in passato, ma da un paio di settimane a questa parte sembra che io li stia collezionando senza criterio...fortunatamente, sono molto soddisfatta dei miei acquisti, motivo per cui vorrei condividere con voi la mia opinione.

Inizierò a parlare di un paio di mie vecchie conoscenze. Il primo è il tonico Acqua di Luna (€ 10,95), prodotto che è sempre presente nella mia routine di cura della pelle. Sono certa di averne già parlato in un paio dei miei post precedenti, per cui andrò dritta al punto: rinfresca e opacizza la mia pelle e il tea tree oil che contiene ha un'azione antinfiammatoria e antibatterica. E' un prodotto perfetto per pelli grasse o impure. Lo adoro. Lo ricomprerò all'infinito.

Il secondo, invece, è Dritti al Punto (€ 8,50), un trattamento per capelli con la consistenza di un balsamo, pensato per combattere le doppie punte e rinforzare il capello. Ho già parlato precedentemente anche di questo prodotto, se volete una recensione approfondita la potete trovare qui. Questo è un altro di quei prodotti che sono sempre presenti nella mia collezione.

Un prodotto che, invece, è stata per me una riscoperta è Brezza di Mare (€ 17,50), uno spray per capelli volumizzante e texturizzante. All'inizio non mi ha convinto molto, non riusciva, infatti, a donare volume ai miei capelli lunghi e lisci, tuttavia ho iniziato ad apprezzarlo utilizzandolo quando arriccio i capelli o usandolo in combinazione con il Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray: in questi due casi riesce a fissare i capelli e ad aggiungere lucentezza. Adorabile.

La mie recente ossessione è Dorian Grey (7,50), uno shampoo viola pensato per capelli biondi e bianchi (ma non solo) con lo scopo di illuminare il colore e neutralizzare quei riflessi spenti e "giallognoli" che spesso compaiono sui capelli biondi e colorati. Mi piace moltissimo il suo profumo di violetta, che rimane sui capelli anche ad un paio di giorni di distanza dal loro lavaggio. L'ho utilizzato solo un paio di volte, ma i il colore dei miei capelli sembra già più sano.

Quando ho terminato il balsamo labbra Reve de Miel di Nuxe, ho deciso di sostituirlo con uno di Lush. Sebbene mi piaccia molto il balsamo della Nuxe, non sono una grande amante del finish opaco che lascia sulle labbra. Tra le varie alternativa proposte da Lush, ho optato, quindi, per Usami (€ 7,50), un balsamo labbra vegano idratante al cedro e vaniglia. Questo prodotto mi ha subito conquistata: non solo sono innamorata del suo profumo, ma rende le mie labbra morbidissime e dona loro un bellissimo finish luminoso che dura a lungo. 

L'ultimo prodotto è stato un acquisto del tutto impulsivo. Si tratta del balsamo corpo African Paradise (€ 29,95), un balsamo idratante dal profumo speziato ed, al tempo stesso, floreale, pensato per essere utilizzato sotto la doccia, come un balsamo per i capelli: si applica sulla pelle bagnata e si risciacqua. Non l'ho ancora utilizzato, ma ho avuto modo di provarlo in negozio sulla mano e, dopo averlo risciacquato, la pelle era morbidissima. Non vedo l'ora di provarlo su tutto il corpo!

I’ve talked to you about my obsession for lip blams in some of my previous posts and I told you that my favourite lip blam was the one by Yes To Carrots. Well, now I have find a competitor: I’ve finally be able to try the Nuxe Rêve de Miel lip balm (€ 9,90) and I love it! I still like my Yes to Carrots lip balm for an everyday use and I think the stick is very easy and quick to use. The Nuxe balm, anyway, is way more moisturizing and smells like heaven! I use it in the night, before going to bed, and when I wake up in the morning it’s still on my lips, like if I have just put it on! Amazing!

I know I’m a little late on this one, but I’ve been loving so much the Urban Decay Naked 3 (€ 45,90) palette since the last few weeks! I don’t wanna bore you, I’m sure you’ve heard enough about how amazing this palette is! So, let’s make it short: beautiful pinkish neutral colors suitable for every skin tones, great pigmentation, amazing texture.

If you follow me you know that I really like black eyeliners, but it seems like I will never be able to applay them in the right way and this is the reason why I usually skip to gel eyeliners, wich are easier to use for me. Despite that, last week I decided to buy the L’Oreal Paris Superliner Blackbuster eyeliner (€ 13,90), thinking that maybe its jumbo tip could make the application less tricky for me: I was right! It allows you to create a thin line or a thick one, depending on your preferences, and its firm tip is very easy to control. I think this eyeliner is perfect for beginners or for who, like myself, has always had hard times applying liquid eyeliners.

This winter I started using scented candels and the one I’ve been enjoying the most is the Muji’s Vanilla candle (€ 5,50). I like vanilla smell, but I find it to be a little annoying after a while, because it usually tends to be too sweet. This candle, however, has a very light smell, it’s not something overwhelming and it isn’t too sweet either, which is why I’ve been loving it so much. I let it burn for a couple of hours in the evening and it leaves a very warmth scent in the room.

A couple of weeks ago I was searching for a new fragrance, since I wasn’t happy with the one I was using (the Chanel n. 5 Premiere). I have very difficult tastes when it comes to fragrances, I think I would never find the perfect one, the one that really represents my personality. I’ve lost the count of how many fragrances I’ve tried in the last years and, although I really liked some of them, no one was the right one. So, I went in a beauty shop and I stopped by the Dior counter to take a look at the fragrances. I’ve always liked the Miss Dior Eau De Toilette, but it’s too sweet for me. So I decided to try the Miss Dior Le Parfum (€ 79,50) which (shame on me!!) I’ve never tried before, and it istantly conquered me. It has a more intense scent than the Miss Dior Eau de Toilette, it’s sweet but in a more sophisticated way, and what I like the most is the patchouli note and its oriental character. Even if I’m not sure this is my perfect fragrance, I really like it at the moment.

In alcuni dei miei precedenti post vi ho parlato della mia ossessione per i balsami labbra e vi ho detto che il mio preferito è di Yes To Carrots. Bene, credo di aver trovato il suo degno rivale! Infatti, sono finalmente riuscita a provare il  Nuxe Rêve de Miel (€ 9,90) e lo adoro! Il balsamo Yes to Carrots continua a piacermi molto e trovo che lo stick sia più comodo e pratico da utilizzare tutti i giorni, ma il balsamo Nuxe è imbattibile in termini di idratazione ed ha un profumo irresistibile! Di solito lo uso la sera prima di coricarmi, e la mattina successiva, al mio risveglio, le labbra sono ancora idratate, come se lo avessi appena applicato. Fantastico!

So di arrivare un po’ in ritardo sull’argomento, ma nelle ultime settimane ho giocato molto con la palette Urban Decay Naked 3 (€ 45,90) e mi sta davvero piacendo tantissimo. Non voglio annoiarvi perché presumo che abbiate già letto tutto ciò che c’è da sapere in merito, per cui la farò breve: bellissimi colori neutri con sottotono rosato che si adattano perfettamente ad ogni carnagione, eccellente pigmentazione, meravigliosa texture.

Se mi seguite, saprete che, nonostante mi piaccia molto utilizzare l’eyeliner nero, pare proprio che io sia del tutto incapace di applicarlo correttamente senza combinare disastri. Per questo motivo ho sostituito l’eyeliner liquido con uno in gel, che trovo più semplice da stendere. Nonostante ciò, settimana scorsa ho deciso di comprare il L’Oreal Paris Superliner Blackbuster (€ 13,90), pensando che la sua punta a pennarello ne avrebbe facilitato la stesura: non mi sbagliavo! Il suo applicatore jumbo consente di creare sia linee sottili che linee più marcate, a seconda delle preferenze, ed è veramente molto facile da utilizzare. Credo che sia il genere di eyeliner perfetto per principianti o per chi, come la sottoscritta, ha sempre avuto brutte esperienze con i classici eyeliner liquidi!

Questo inverno ho iniziato ad utilizzare qualche candela profumata e quella che preferisco al momento è una candela all’aroma di vaniglia di Muji (€ 5,50). Sono sempre stata un’amante dei profumi alla vaniglia, ma trovo che spesso, se troppo persistenti, dopo qualche tempo iniziano ad infastidirmi, probabilmente perché molto dolci. Questa candela, tuttavia, ha una fragranza davvero delicata, non è eccessivamente intensa né troppo dolce. Di solito la lascio accesa per un paio d’ore la sera e, in questo modo,  crea una piacevole atmosfera calda ed avvolgente.

Un paio di settimane fa sono andata alla ricerca di un nuovo profumo, insoddisfatta da quello che stavo utilizzando (Chanel n. 5 Premiere). Quando si tratta di profumi, sono davvero difficile da accontentare, credo che non troverò mai quello perfetto, che si addica alla mia personalità e che rappresenti al meglio i miei giusti. Ho perso il conto di quanti profumi ho provato negli ultimi anni e, sebbene abbia trovato molti di loro davvero gradevoli, nessuno era quello giusto. In ogni caso, sono andata in profumeria e mi sono fermata davanti al counter di Dior, per dare un’occhiata ai profumi esposti. Mi è sempre piaciuto Miss Dior Eau de Toilette, ma, allo stesso tempo, non ho mai voluto acquistarlo perché temevo che fosse eccessivamente dolce e che, quindi, col tempo mi avrebbe stancato. Ho deciso, allora, di provare Miss Dior Le Parfum (€ 79,50), che invece non conoscevo (vergogna!) e che mi ha piacevolmente stupita. La sua fragranza è più intensa di Miss Dior Eau de Toilette, dolce ma in modo molto sofisticato, e ciò che più mi ha rapito è la nota di patchouli e l’allure leggermente orientale che lo avvolge (sono terribile nel descrivere profumi, perdonatemi). Anche se non sono sicura che sia il profumo con la P maiuscola, per il momento mi sta piacendo davvero molto.

When it comes to makeup and skincare, I’m not the kind of person that saty loyal to a particular brand or a particolar routine; I always like to try different products, even if I’m pretty happy with the ones I’m using, because I feel like, maybe, I would find something better outhere. So, you can easily understand that, if I decided to repurchase a product, that means it’s really working for me and I find it to be really good for my skin. That being said, what works for me may not work for you, sice we all have different skin types.

The first product I’d like to talk about is the micelle water by Bioderma, Sensibio H2O (€ 13,80). I’m sure you all have heard about it, and I can only say that it deserves all the hypes! It’s very gentle and it removes all the makeup, even the waterproof one. I like to use it to memove my eye makeup, since I have very sensitive eye area, and it doesn’t caused me any irritation. I’ve lost the count of how many bottles of this I’ve bought.

Another product I keep buying is the Yes To Carrots lip butter (€ 3,00). If you’ve read my previous post here, you know how obsessed I am with lip butters. My lips tend to become very dry, especially in winter time, so I always need a good moisturizer. I’ve tried thousands of lip products, but this is by far my favourite, it smells great and it’s a very natural product. What more could I ask for?

The last skincare product I’m gonna talk about is my life savier. I can’t imagine living without it. Ok, I know this may be a little extreme statement, but let me explain it. The little treasure I’m talking about is the Lierac Prescription Antiblemish dual-phase concentrate (€  12,10). It’s basically a dual phase solution that it’s supposed to fade blemishes away overnight. Ok, maybe it takes a couple of nigths, but after one night you can already see an improvement. Sometimes I deal with dairy brakeouts, it’s not something severe, but in that period I usually have two or three cystic bumps on my face. I find that the only thing that can really help the healing process is this magical liquid. I have a stock of it in my bedside table!

Skipping to makeup products, I have to confess that I’m quite a foundation junkie and there is only one foundation that I have purchased more than once in my entire life…I don’t wanna say it’s my HG foundation, but it’s pretty closed to it. I’m talking about the Mac Prolongwear foundation (€ 33,27). What I love the most about this product is the fact that it’s really longlasting. On my combination skin it lasts all day without getting shiny and I don’t even need to use a powder. Most of the long lasting foundations I’ve tried tend to be too havy and too matte. Don’t get me wrong, I like a matte finish and a decent coverage, but I still want to look natural and I don’t feel like I need a full coverage foundation. This is why Mac Prolongwear is perfect for me: medium coverage, not too heavy, natural matte finish. It also has a very good shade range, like every mac foundations, so it’s very hard not to find the right color match.

Another makeup product I’ve repurchased is the Mineral Veil by Bare Mineral (€ 24,90). I don’t usually like powders as I feel they’re too heavy on my skin, but this one is very lightweight, it has a beautiful velvety finish and it works great with every foundations I’ve been using so far.

The last product I’m gonna talk about is Mac Fluidline eye liner gel (€ 18,15) in “blacktrack”. I have a love/hate relashionship with eyeliners, because I really love how they look on the eyes, but I’m the worst in applying them. This one, however, is very simple to use, especially with an angled brush, and the final finish is almost as intense as the one you will achieve with a liquid liner.

Quando si tratta di makeup e skincare, non sono il tipo di persona che rimane fedele ad un particolare brand o che segue con costanza una determinata routine; mi piace provare prodotti nuovi e diversi, anche quando sono soddisfatta di quelli che sto utilizzando, perché ho la sensazione che si possa sempre trovare qualcosa che sia migliore. Per cui, è facile comprendere che, nel momento in cui decido di ricomprare un prodotto, significa che sono rimasta davvero impressionata dai risultati. Detto questo, voglio comunque precisare che ciò che funziona per me potrebbe non funzionare per voi, poiché abbiamo tutti tipi di pelle differenti e, di conseguenza, anche esigenze differenti.

Il primo prodotto che voglio menzionare è la soluzione micellare Bioderma Sensibio H2O (€ 13,80). Sono sicura che tutti voi ne abbiate già sentito parlare e l’unica cosa che posso dire è che merita certamente tutte le recensioni positive che continua a ricevere. Rimuove il trucco in modo molto delicato, anche quello resistente all’acqua. A me piace utilizzarla per struccare gli occhi, che sono particolarmente sensibili e difficilmente tollerano prodotti troppo aggressivi o grassi. Ho perso il conto di quante boccette ho ricomprato finora!

Un altro prodotto che continuo a ricomprare non appena termina è il balsamo labbra di Yes To Carrots (€ 3,00). Se avete letto il mio post precedente qui, saprete quanto io sia dipendente dai balsami labbra, soprattutto durante i mesi più freddi, quando le mie labbra tendono a seccarsi più rapidamente. Ne ho provati davvero molti ma questo è senz’altro il mio preferito, è idratante al punto giusto ed è composto quasi intermante da ingredienti naturali. Cosa potrei chiedere di più?

L’ultimo prodotto che rientra nella categoria skincare è per me una sorta di salva-vita, non potrei immaginare di farne a meno. Sì, lo so, è un’affermazione un po’ esagerata, ma lasciatemi spiegare. Innanzitutto, il liquido magico di cui sto parlando è il Lierac Prescription concentrato bifasico anti imperfezioni (€ 12,10). E’ in sostanza una soluzione bifasica che promette di combattere le imperfezioni nell’arco di una notte. Ok, forse di notti ne richiede un paio, ma sicuramente si vedono i risultati già dopo la prima applicazione. A volte mi capita di ritrovarmi con due o tre infiammazioni cistiche sul viso, causate per lo più dal consumo di latticini; non è niente di severo, ma impiegano molto tempo a calmarsi e trovo che l’unica cosa che davvero aiuti il processo di guarigione sia questo prodotto. Ne conservo una scorta nel mio comodino!

Parlando, invece, di makeup, devo confessarvi di aver sviluppato una sorta di mania per i fondotinta e, tra tutti quelli che ho avuto modo di provare finora, ce n’è solo uno che ho ricomprato diverse volte…non voglio dire che sia il fondotinta perfetto, ma ci si avvicina molto per quanto concerne le mie esigenze. Sto parlando del fondotinta Mac Prolongwear (€ 33,27). Ciò che più mi piace di questo prodotto è la sua durata: sulla mia pelle mista dura tutta la giornata senza diventare lucido e senza bisogno di utilizzare una cipria. La maggior parte dei fondotinta a lunga durata che ho provato tende ad essere troppo pesante sulla pelle ed avere un effetto eccessivamente opaco. Non fraintendetemi, mi piace ottenere un finish matte e una discreta coprenza, ma vorrei comunque che l’effetto finale fosse il più naturale possibile. E’ per questo che trovo che il Mac Prolongwear faccia un ottimo lavoro: ha una coprenza media, non risulta pesante sulla pelle e l’effetto finale è decisamente naturale. Inoltre, come tutti i fondotinta Mac, è disponibile in una vasta gamma di tonalità, per cui è molto difficile non trovarne una adeguata.

Restando in tema di makeup, la cipria sulla quale faccio affidamento e che ho ricomprato già un paio di volte è la Mineral Veil di Bare Mineral (€ 24,90). Normalmente tendo ad utilizzare le ciprie solo quando necessito di piccoli ritocchi durante la giornata, perché ho la sensazione che soffochino la pelle; questa, però, è davvero molto leggera e dona un bellissimo effetto vellutato; il risultato, inoltre, è ottimo con ogni fondotinta con cui l’ho utilizzata fin’ora.

L’ultimo prodotto che rientra nella categoria “ricomprati” di cui voglio parlarvi è il Mac Fluidline eye liner gel (€ 18,15) nel colore Blacktrack. Di solito nei confronti degli eyeliner in genere provo una sorta di amore/odio, perché amo moltissimo l’effetto che danno ma sono davvero pessima nell’applicarli. Questo, tuttavia, è molto semplice da utilizzare, soprattutto con un pennello angolato, e l’effetto che si ottiene è intenso quanto quello che si otterrebbe con un eyeliner liquido.

What's in my bag

In this post I’d like to show you the survival kit of makeup that I bring with me every time I go out. I don’t usually bring with me too many beauty products, as I don’t really have time to spend after my makeup during the day, so I keep in my bag just a few essentials.

First of all, since I have combination to oily skin, I like to have always with me a powder to use if I get oily on my T-zone; the one that I’m currently loving is the Urban Decay De-Slick Mattifying Powder (€ 28,90). As the name suggests, it’s a mattifing powder that gives me a very flawless finish and it’s very long lasting on my skin. It is also formulated without parabens, sulfates and phthalates and contains tea tree oil, wich is very good for skins that are prone to breakouts. Pretty good, ah?

Another product that I always keep in my bag is the Benefit Erase Paste (€ 27,90), a brightening concealer that is perfect for the under eye area but it’s also very good in covering any redness on your face. It’s a lightweight concealer and it does not provide a full coverage, but it’s perfect for a quick touch up during the day; thanks to its creamy formula it can be easily applied with fingers. It comes in 3 shades and I have it in the lighter one, 1-fair.

Sometimes I feel like my lips need a touch of color but at the same time I want them to still look natural. My Dior lipstick Rouge Dior Nude (€ 29,95) in shade 459 Charnelle does the trick. This is my favourite nude lipstick ever. My sister gave it to me as a Christmas present last year and it was love at first sight. It’s a nude pinkish shade that matches perfectly my skin tone! Well done, sis’!

Talking about lip products, since my lips tend to get quite dry, I’m letteraly obsessed with lip balms and lip butters. My currently favourite is Yes to Carrots Lip Butter (€ 3,00) , it’s very moisturizing and it’s also formulated with 95% natural ingredients.

Another lip balm that I really love is the Lierac Hydra-Chrono Lèvres Rosé (€ 15,00). It’s a glossy lip balm that, when first applied, appears transparent on the lips and then, in less than one minute, turns into a very natural pink shade. It’s very similar to the Dior Lip Glow, but less expensive!

Last but not least, I can’t go out without my heand cream with me, especially in winter time, when my skin gets a bit dry. The one I like the most is the Neutrogena (€ 4,84) one, because it’s very moisturising without feeling greesy and it absorbs quickly, leaving my skin soft and smooth.

In questo post vorrei mostrarvi i prodotti che porto sempre in borsa con me e che costituiscono il mio “kit di sopravvivenza” quando sono fuori casa. Normalmente non tendo a tenere in borsa molti prodotti per il make up, perché, anche se volessi, non avrei il tempo, nel corso della giornata, di utilizzarli. Pertanto, la mia make up bag contiene solo lo stretto indispensabile per piccoli ritocchi d’emergenza.

Innanzitutto, avendo una pelle mista che tende a lucidarsi nelle zona T, mi piace avere sempre a portata di mano una cipria opacizzante. Al momento sto utilizzando Urban Decay De-Slick Mattifying Powder (€ 28,90) e trovo che sia ottima. Come suggerisce il nome, si tratta di una cipria opacizzante che lascia la pelle liscia e vellutata a lungo. Inoltre, è formulata senza parabeni, solfati e ftalati e contiene tea tree oil, conosciuto per le sue proprietà anti infiammatorie e, quindi, ideale per pelli con tendenza acneica. Non male, vero?

Il secondo prodotto che fa parte della mia beauty bag è Erase Paste di Benefit (€ 27,90), un correttore illuminante perfetto per coprire le occhiaie ma adatto anche a correggere imperfezioni e rossori non troppo marcati. Infatti, si tratta di un correttore leggero, che non fornisce coprenza elevata, ma, proprio per la sua consistenza cremosa, risulta facile e veloce da applicare. E’ disponibile in 3 tonalità, quella che utilizzo io è la più chiara, 1-fair.

Altro prodotto da cui non mi separo mai è il rossetto Dior lipstick Rouge Dior Nude (€ 29,95)  nella tonalità 459 Charnelle. Questo è il rossetto color nudo che preferisco in assoluto, mi è stato regalato l’anno scorso a Natale da mia sorella, che non avrebbe potuto fare scelta migliore. Grazie sorellina!

A proposito di labbra, a causa delle tendenza delle mie a diventare particolarmente secche, ho sviluppato un’ossessione per i balsami idratanti. In particolare, il mio preferito al momento è il burro labbra Yes To Carrots (€ 3,00) , molto idratante e formulato al 95% con prodotti naturali.

Un altro balsamo labbra di cui non posso fare a meno è, questa volta, di Lierac, e si chiama Hydra Crono Lèvres Rosé (€ 15,00). E’ un gloss che appena applicato appare trasparente e dopo qualche istante assume una colorazione rosata molto naturale. Se siete fan del Dior Lip Glow, questo ne è una valida alternativa economica.

Infine, non potrei mai uscire di casa senza la mia crema mani, in particolar modo nel periodo invernale, quando le mie mani tendono a seccarsi maggiormente. Ne ho provate molte ma la mia preferita rimane la crema Neutrogena (€ 4,84), in quanto idrata in profondità senza ungere, si assorbe rapidamente e lascia la pelle liscia e protetta.
